Chapter 183: Chapter 184: I’m Worried About You.
Jiang Dachuan responded and then turned the steering wheel to leave the Lu Family’s old house.
Li Manman was really unsettled now; going to such a eerie place as a graveyard late at night could really scare someone to death.
"Lu Jinghan shouldn’t be there, right? Maybe he’s already gone back to the hospital."
Han Xi looked at the retreating streetlights outside the car window and tucked her messy hair behind her ears: "When I left the hospital, I already told the duty nurse. If Jing Han goes back, they will call me."
Alright, Li Manman could only risk her life to accompany the gentleman.
.......
When Han Xi and the others arrived at the graveyard, Lu Jinghan’s car was indeed parked there.
Li Manman initially didn’t want to go in, but she would be even more scared being left alone in the car, so she had to grit her teeth and follow inside.
There were streetlights in the cemetery, so it wasn’t very dark. Li Manman, trembling with fear, held onto Han Xi’s hand, muttering "Namo Amitabha" under her breath.
On regular days, Han Xi was actually timid too, but now she was only worried about Lu Jinghan, not thinking about any of those random things.
A short distance away, Han Xi saw Lu Jinghan sitting alone in front of a tombstone. The bent silhouette under the dim light was so lonely that it made people ache.
Li Manman had been walking with her eyes closed the whole way, so Han Xi’s sudden halt scared her into a cold sweat, and she couldn’t help but squeeze Han Xi’s hand tighter: "What’s wrong? Did we run into something?"
Li Manman still didn’t dare to open her eyes when she spoke.
"It’s nothing. Jing Han is just ahead. Why don’t you head back to the car first?"
Hearing Han Xi say this, Li Manman finally opened her eyes. Lu Jinghan was indeed there, sitting in the cemetery alone in the middle of the night; was he talking with ghosts?
Li Manman hesitated and then spoke: "No, I have to accompany you over there. Who knows if that’s really Lu Jinghan in front. What if something plays a trick on you, and what if we leave, then what will you do?"
Li Manman’s imagination could be unbelievably wild sometimes, being able to conjure up such scenarios.
The serious face of Jiang Dachuan behind her faintly showed a trace of a smile: "Everyone says ghosts don’t have shadows. That in front is definitely President Lu, Miss Li, rest assured."
Li Manman looked up ahead and, seeing the shadow, she awkwardly rubbed the tip of her nose: "Then we will head back to the car first. You should come out soon too; it’s best not to stay too long in places like this at night."
"I understand." Han Xi, after saying this, looked up at Jiang Dachuan: "I’ll be counting on you to take care of my friend."
Jiang Dachuan nodded: "Madam, don’t worry."
Watching Li Manman and them leave, Han Xi then turned and walked forward.
Noticing footsteps beside him, Lu Jinghan finally raised his head. The moment he saw Han Xi, his previously hollow eyes filled with radiant brilliance.
But in the next second, his brow furrowed again. Lu Jinghan got up from the ground and looked at Han Xi anxiously: "Why did you come here? You know you still have an injury on your leg?"
Lu Jinghan’s voice was slightly loud, but the chastising words were full of concern.
Han Xi took a few steps closer, snuggled into Lu Jinghan’s embrace, and wrapped her arms tightly around his narrow waist: "Your phone was off. I just went to the Lu Family’s old house, and Uncle Li told me everything. I was worried about you, thinking you might come here to see Mom and Dad, so I came to find you."
