Chapter 4 Have you seen enough?

The carriage, which had just started moving, stopped again.

As Xie Jiang opened the carriage door, Yuan Liu asked with a face full of wariness, "What do you want to do now?"

"Pick some melons," Xie Jiang said lightly, then rushed towards the scene of the car crash with the speed of wind and lightning.

An arm shot up high with a trail of blood, and the woman being held hostage instantly fell to the ground. By the time the woman steadied herself and looked up to see what had happened, the battle was already over. The desperadoes who had been chasing relentlessly had their lives drained in an instant, falling down one after another with thuds. The woman hadn't even seen how they were killed. As she stood there stunned and bewildered, a line of blood suddenly seeped from the necks of the five people lying on the ground. The thug whose arm had been severed was not dead yet. Seeing his companions die so silently, he looked at Xie Jiang in terror and then hastily retreated. Xie Jiang, holding a dagger as clean as new, walked towards him step by step. When the man could retreat no further, she stepped down and snapped his neck. From a distance, Yuan Liu felt a chill in his own neck. The swiftness and ruthlessness of her actions were comparable to a professional killer. As if she were snapping off a dry twig by the roadside, not a human neck, Xie Jiang turned around with a composed expression and looked at the woman who seemed to be scared stiff, "Miss Xu San?" Xu Shuyao was startled, surprised that the young man who had descended from the heavens to save her from dire straits knew her. "...Yes." "Who are these people? Why did they capture you?" If they only wanted to silence her, they wouldn't have bothered to capture her alive. The mistress and servant would have already lost their lives. When Xie Jiang approached earlier, she vaguely heard these people mention the blind man from the Duke of Dingguo's mansion. The blind man! It was these two words that instantly ignited her killing intent, leaving none alive! Xu Shuyao was terrified by the young man's methods, but for some reason, she didn't feel scared. Looking at him through the rain and mist, she even felt a sense of closeness and familiarity, though she couldn't recall if she had ever met him before. Xu Shuyao hesitated for a moment, then pushed herself up from the ground, her voice trembling uncontrollably, "Does sir know the Duke of Dingguo's mansion? I am the fiancée of the Duke of Dingguo's heir, Young Master Song." She glanced at the corpses on the ground and added, "From what they said, they intended to use me to humiliate Young Master Song." Xu Shuyao stood in the rain, biting her lip, swaying precariously. Only now did she realize the terrifying implications. Even if she wasn't afraid of death, whether alive or dead, as long as she fell into these people's hands, they would still achieve their goal. "May I ask for your honorable name? I have no way to repay your life-saving grace, but if there is ever a time you need..." Xie Jiang's expression suddenly turned grim. She had indeed heard correctly. The Duke of Dingguo's heir. The original host's brother. He had lost his sight in the chaos years ago. She had planned to deal with them one by one, but she hadn't expected these demons and monsters to jump out so eagerly. "We will meet again, and then you will naturally know who I am." Xu Shuyao wisely did not press further. She dragged her injured leg and stumbled towards the middle-aged woman, "Aunt Zheng!" Xie Jiang stepped forward and squatted down, tapping Zheng Gu a few times. Zheng Gu coughed up a mouthful of blood and woke up. Xie Jiang took out a porcelain bottle and handed it to Xu Shuyao, "She won't die for a while. This is for stopping the bleeding." Both Xu Shuyao and her servant had multiple injuries, and Zheng Gu's head was bleeding profusely. Xu Shuyao was extremely grateful, "Thank you." Xie Jiang pointed at the horses left by the desperadoes, "Can you ride?" Xu Shuyao nodded, her heart in turmoil, "Yes." Seeing Xie Jiang walking back, she finally lowered her hand that had been gripping the carriage curtain. Seeing that the carriage was still waiting in place, Xie Jiang was very satisfied. Who would care about Yuan Liu's furious expression? Shan Bai looked at her silently. Perhaps it was because she had just killed someone, but there was a new aura of ferocity about her. The way she had killed so effortlessly was chilling. When Xie Jiang got into the carriage, she saw that Yi Yan Gen was still sitting in his original position, as if he hadn't moved at all since she got out. But his distant coldness had inexplicably disappeared. Xie Jiang, however, had no energy to ponder him. She leaned against the carriage wall with her arms crossed, closed her eyes, and said nothing more. Her chest ached faintly, and the taste of blood filled her throat. She felt very uncomfortable. Yi Yan Gen watched her quietly. A drop of water rolled down from her wet hair, sliding down her eye and onto her cheek, as if it were a silent tear. It splashed into his heart, spreading outwards in ripples. Her wet clothes clung to her, revealing her increasingly slender figure. With her eyes closed and leaning back, she lacked her usual defiance and looked a little fragile. Time seemed to stand still in the carriage. After an unknown amount of time, Xie Jiang opened her eyes and looked at Yi Yan Gen, "Have you looked enough?"
