Chapter 531: New Breathing Technique Formed!
Chapter 531
"Now die!" Grey said as, all around the beast, blue lights began shimmering into view. Slowly, more than a hundred lightning arrows appeared, their sharp tips pointed directly at the stunned phoenix.
BANG!
BOOOM!
The lightning arrows shot forward with immense speed and force. In less than a split second, they were upon the phoenix, but the beast quickly teleported out of the way.
The arrows collided with each other instead, detonating with a thunderous explosion that shook the entire sky. Sparks scattered like falling stars, and the shockwave tore through the air, splitting the silence with destruction.
"Fuck! Doesn’t that skill have a time limit or something?!" Grey cursed inwardly as he landed back on his feet with a soft thud.
The glow in his eyes and body receded, yet lightning still crackled faintly around his hands and feet. He narrowed his gaze, scanning the battlefield, trying to predict where the beast would reappear. His heart pounded, not from fear but from the thrill of the fight.
Thalos, on the other hand, slowly rose to his feet. With a sharp gesture, his sword flew through the air and landed perfectly in his grasp, as though drawn by fate itself.
"Up above!" Thalos shouted instantly.
Both men snapped their heads upward to see the phoenix hovering high above. With a violent flap of its massive wings, the beast hurled out a hundred glowing lightning feathers that whistled down like raining spears.
"Shit!" Grey spat as he dashed forward, the ground exploding beneath his feet. With a loud clap of his hands, another hundred lightning arrows erupted forth and met the feathers head-on.
BOOOM!
The entire mountain range quaked as the clash triggered an explosion so violent the air itself seemed to shudder. The ground beneath them cracked apart, and a monstrous shockwave erupted outward, scattering rocks and dust in every direction.
Through the raging storm of dust, Thalos burst out with full speed, his figure parting the haze for only a brief moment. A grin spread across his face as he locked onto the phoenix, his sword already raised high. Then...
Bang!
A loud bang echoed as his blade crashed into the phoenix before it could teleport. Another deafening crack followed, and the beast was hurled from the sky with terrifying force, smashing into the earth below. The impact shattered what little remained of the mountain top, rocks splintering like glass under its weight.
For a moment, it seemed the phoenix would be buried deep within the ruins. But the beast recovered swiftly, teleporting out just in time and reappearing on the fragile remnants of the mountain peak. Its beak dripped with blood, yet its fiery eyes still burned with unyielding defiance.
It noticed Grey charging toward it, so it teleported again, vanishing in a flash. Grey halted, his eyes darting sharply as he searched.
"You’re dumb."
The voice slithered directly into Grey’s mind. He spun around, only to see a crackling lightning ball right in front of his face. Then....
BOOM!
The explosion tore through the battlefield. Thalos froze, his mouth wide open, unable to react in time.
’Shit!’ he thought, his fists clenching. ’That was a point-blank strike. Even I wouldn’t walk away from such an attack if it hit my head, talk less of a mere human like him. Fuck, he’s de...’
"Kek! That almost tickled."
The smug voice rang out from behind the phoenix. The beast spun around in shock, only for Grey’s sword to smash into its face with crushing strength.
The phoenix screeched as it was hurled several meters back, crashing violently before regaining its footing once again.
But the Supreme Magus wasn’t about to let it rest. Almost instantly, fifty wind swords materialized all around the beast, shimmering with deadly sharpness.
Without wasting a second, they shot forward like a blur, cutting through the air with piercing howls as they rushed straight for the phoenix.
Seeing the threat, the phoenix teleported out of sight, vanishing just in time. The wind swords crashed into the spot it had occupied a moment earlier, slamming into the mountain with such impact that a deep crater was instantly carved out, fragments of stone shooting upward like fiery meteors.
"Don’t forget about me."
Thalos’ cold voice cut through the chaos as he leaped into the air, He appeared exactly where the beast was about to manifest, and without hesitation, his sword swung forward with vicious force.
Already anticipating the gargoyle’s move, the phoenix quickly folded its lightning-forged wings in front of its body.
The gargoyle’s sword clashed against the barrier with immense strength, the collision generating a searing wave of hot air so powerful it almost knocked the phoenix from the sky. Sparks of lightning scattered outward, lighting up the battlefield like a second sun.
’There’s no point working on only magic. Let’s take things to another level.’ Grey’s lips curled into a grin as he watched the beast and Thalos exchange blows with destructive ferocity.
He raised his sword, holding it firmly in front of him. Lightning began to crackle violently around the blade, arcs dancing across its length with a brilliance so intense it briefly illuminated his determined face. His eyes gleamed with anticipation.
’Time for a new technique.’
"Dance of the Thunder God: First Formation." Grey’s voice was low but filled with conviction. Sparks erupted around his eyes, and his body shifted into stance, his right foot sliding behind as he prepared. His gaze darted rapidly, tracking both Thalos and the phoenix, who were now moving with blistering, almost invisible speed.
Shockwaves exploded one after another as the two figures clashed in the air. The skies trembled. Steam and sparks of lightning began seeping from Grey’s nostrils as his body reached a new limit, his aura swelling with divine ferocity. He focused, locking his sight on where the beast would appear next.
"Lightning Whip Lash!" he roared.
BANG!
An ear-shattering bang erupted as Grey exploded from the ground, shattering the earth beneath him into rubble. He shot upward like a lightning bolt, a tornado of raging thunder encasing his entire body.
The roar of his power split the heavens, and for a brief second, the phoenix turned its head, eyes widening in shock at the sight of a human engulfed in divine lightning, charging straight for it.
"Welp! That’s my cue to leave." Thalos smirked as he suddenly slammed his foot directly into the phoenix, launching it with brutal force straight into Grey’s path. The beast screeched, its body crashing violently downward.
"If you are reborn, I hope you’ll be wise enough never to cross the path of the Supreme Magus!" Grey thundered, his voice echoing like a god’s decree. The phoenix’s eyes widened in horror as it tried desperately to muster an attack, but it was far too late.
With a single swing of his sword, three thunderous bangs cracked through the sky. The blade elongated in an instant, encased fully in blinding lightning.
It whipped outward like a coiling serpent, wrapping viciously around the phoenix. The beast shrieked in agony as the whip constricted, searing into its flesh. The lightning burned through its body, branding it with destruction before hurling it mercilessly into the ground below.
But Grey wasn’t finished.
He snapped his fingers, and the sky responded. A hundred lightning arrows materialized above, each one vibrating with devastating energy. They descended like judgment itself, raining down upon the phoenix with unstoppable force.
All the beast could do was watch helplessly as death approached.
BANG!
BOOM!
A deafening explosion rocked the entire region as the arrows struck true, frying the phoenix to nothing but ash. The mountain beneath them was completely obliterated, reduced to rubble and dust. The sky was filled with smoke, thunder still echoing from the overwhelming display of the Supreme Magus’ might.
The battle was over.
