Hu Die Lan
Chapter 30 Whirlwind Slash
After cruising through the game for so long, Gu Fei finally encountered a problem.
This female warrior before him would be difficult to defeat with martial arts. She was like the lower half of the bandit Soto wearing pants; Gu Fei's knife strikes didn't even make her flinch.
Moreover, her armor and helmet covered her from head to toe, leaving only her small face exposed. But slashing a girl's face... They didn't have any deep-seated hatred, just a small misunderstanding caused by a sack. Gu Fei felt it would be too much to attack her like that.
Logically speaking, even the thickest armor would have weak points at the joints. Unfortunately, no matter how realistic the game was, it couldn't cover every detail. The person under the armor was incredibly agile, and at the same time, the joints were just as impenetrable, the knife strikes bouncing off.
Gu Fei exchanged several moves with the girl, making probing attacks at her right wrist, left knee joint, and left shoulder joint, all with the same conclusion: impossible to break through her defenses.
And this probing attack reassured her. Seeing that Gu Fei's attacks had no effect, the girl was completely relieved of any worries. She swung her giant axe even more ferociously, whirling it like a windmill towards Gu Fei.
Helpless, Gu Fei could only dodge left and right, while pondering a solution.
The mouths of the players who had come out of the bar to watch were so wide open they almost dropped their chins.
As far as Gu Fei was concerned, everyone had only one description for him: a real man.
A mage daring to engage a warrior in close combat with a knife, what else could he be but a real man?
It was just that this real man was somewhat of an idiot! Using one's weaknesses to attack the enemy's strengths, what else could that be but idiotic?
Everyone could clearly see the current situation. Gu Fei couldn't even scratch the opponent with his knife, and was only relying on his agility to maneuver around her. But for now, he seemed to be dodging with ease, while the warrior's attacks were patient, showing no signs of impatience from missing one axe swing after another.
Gu Fei didn't give up, continuing to probe the joints while dodging. He even tried five or six finger joints, but it was useless.
It seemed he could only compete in endurance! Gu Fei made up his mind. He wanted to see who would lose patience first in this stalemate.
The answer came quickly. The first to lose patience was the audience.
Seeing that Gu Fei had no chance of defeating the opponent, everyone was puzzled as to why he wasn't using magic.
"Magic! Magic!" Led by a busybody, the crowd began to shout.
Originally, magic was essential for a mage PK, yet Gu Fei actually needed to be reminded by the crowd. But this did give him an idea. Now that his martial arts weren't working so well, using magic wouldn't hurt. Gu Fei wasn't so rigid as to not adapt.
After sidestepping an axe coming straight down on his head, Gu Fei raised his precious knife and shouted, "Fireball!"
"Here, here!" Someone answered from the side.
"Scram!" Gu Fei shouted at the fireball before turning back to issue orders to the fireball he had summoned: "Shoot!"
The fireball flew out, heading straight for the female warrior.
The female warrior seemed to be stunned for a moment, but then she swung her giant axe and cleaved Gu Fei's little fireball.
Did the fireball explode on the edge of the axe and cause any damage? Gu Fei didn't know, as he couldn't feel anything!
"You're a mage?" The female warrior didn't immediately swing her giant axe at him as Gu Fei had expected, but instead lowered it to her side, looking him up and down.
This girl was really too slow on the uptake! She had only just realized he was a mage after fighting for so long. Gu Fei thought to himself.
Little did she know that unless someone knew Gu Fei's identity beforehand, no one would have thought he was a mage based on his fighting style.
The female warrior seemed a little apprehensive. The guy in front of her wasn't slow, and he could always dodge her attacks at the right moment. If he kept his distance and attacked with magic, he could grind her to death.
"I don't need you to let me!" The girl immediately said, thinking of something.
"Let you?" Gu Fei was confused.
Was he toying with her again? The girl suddenly thought of this, and the anger that had been half-extinguished after grinding for so long immediately rose again.
She raised her right hand and lifted the giant axe that had been hanging at her side, then her left hand followed, gripping the axe handle side by side with her right hand.
A posture that had never appeared before! The girl had been wielding the axe with one hand. This sudden change in combat was noticed by Gu Fei, who had considerable practical experience, and he immediately deduced: a special move was coming.
Sure enough, the girl suddenly stomped her right foot on the ground, twisting her waist, and a whirlwind rose from the ground, enveloping her.
"Ah!! Whirlwind Slash!!!!" Someone in the crowd shouted.
Warrior level 30 skill, Whirlwind Slash.
Rotating one's body and weapon to launch a 360-degree omnidirectional attack, the damage increases with the skill's proficiency, and the duration of the skill is determined by the warrior's rage value when activating it. Theoretically, if the rage value is infinite, this move can be used indefinitely.
And the rage value increases the most when attacked, and also accumulates slightly when hitting and killing enemies. It is a unique stat for warriors.
Gu Fei had slashed her so many times earlier, although none of them caused damage, the rage value generated was somewhat discounted, but little by little, the girl's rage value was now close to full.
As soon as this move came out, the surrounding players couldn't help but take a few steps back. The girl had completely started spinning, and the middle of the field was like a whirlwind, the girl's giant axe transformed into a dark light mixed within, sweeping towards Gu Fei.
Too fast!!
Who would have thought that a warrior who looked so clumsy could move at such a high speed when using this skill.
"Melee classes are still cooler!" Gu Fei even had the time to sigh like that when the whole place was screaming, thinking that Gu Fei was about to be minced into meat paste.
Dodging was impossible! The whirlwind-like movement speed of the warrior's Whirlwind Slash was even faster than Gu Fei's current speed.
All Gu Fei could do was raise his knife to block it as much as he could. But to be able to see the trajectory of the axe spinning at such a high speed during Whirlwind Slash and block it with his knife, that wasn't something just anyone could do.
Even with this block, it was absolutely impossible to completely stop the continuous momentum of the opponent's Whirlwind Slash. But giving up and waiting for death before the last moment was never Gu Fei's style.
With a crisp sound, the white single blade in Gu Fei's hand snapped into two pieces, followed by a gust of wind scraping across his body, losing his balance, seemingly swept into the air by the wind, and then thrown out heavily.
How much defense could Gu Fei, who was still wearing a novice mage robe, have? If not for the block earlier, which had withstood a considerable amount of the damage, he would have already turned into white light in the whirlwind. Even so, blood was gushing from his body, his life dropping in a straight line, and he would soon reach the bottom line, still unable to escape death.
"Still couldn't dodge it!" Gu Fei lamented. At the last moment, he made a final effort. He wanted to use the force of the knife blocking the Whirlwind Slash to send his body out and dodge the attack. Who knew that his precious knife would fail him at a critical moment, actually being directly snapped by the Whirlwind Slash. Because the knife broke, he couldn't borrow enough force, and was grazed by the axe a few times before being sent flying. He wasn't given a direct death sentence, but rather a suspended sentence of 2 seconds.
"Still want to live? I can only hope for a miracle." Gu Fei smiled bitterly, but who knew that a miracle would really appear.
A white light suddenly enveloped his body. Gu Fei thought it was the summoning of death teleportation, but who knew that his life, which was about to hit rock bottom, actually stopped falling under this white light, and even had a slight upward trend.
Gu Fei, who had never enjoyed this treatment, didn't know that this was the most basic skill of a priest: Recovery Spell.
It wasn't until he landed on the ground, looked around, and saw the girl named Luo Luo chanting at him that Gu Fei roughly understood what was happening. But Gu Fei was not simply saved. His life was still dropping, and the Recovery Spell could only replenish life. To heal the injuries, he needed the priest's higher-level skill, "Heal," but obviously no one knew it. Luo Luo could only constantly cast the Recovery Spell to maintain him. It was a life-or-death contest between blood loss and the Recovery Spell.
The female warrior was naturally unhappy to see someone interfering with her duel with Gu Fei. But when she turned around and saw the person casting "Recovery Spell," she was stunned again: "Sister Luo Luo."
Luo Luo nodded, reached into her pocket, took out a few bottles of injury medicine and hemostatic bandages, and handed them to Huo Qiu, who was dumbfounded on the side, and said, "Go and control his injuries."
Huo Qiu woke up from his dream, took the things, and hurried to Gu Fei's side, bending down.
"I'm saved!" Gu Fei saw the things in Huo Qiu's hands and saw that the female warrior and Luo Luo seemed to know each other, and sighed in his heart.
Who knew that Huo Qiu would hold the things but not use them for a long time. Gu Fei looked at him suspiciously.
"Hurry up, what are you waiting for?" Luo Luo on the other side was anxious. She was frantically using the Recovery Spell to save Gu Fei's rapidly declining life, showing that Gu Fei's injuries were serious. If she continued to use it like this, her mana would soon run out, and it would be too late to use injury medicine at that time.
As a result, Huo Qiu said mysteriously to Gu Fei in a low voice, "Brother Zui, do you want to first use acupressure to stop the bleeding?"
Gu Fei had already held the swear word to his lips, but he forced himself not to say it. "Be a role model!" Gu Fei warned himself, then calmly said to Huo Qiu, "You read too many martial arts novels."
"Oh? You can't use acupressure?" Huo Qiu seemed quite surprised.
"Hurry up and apply the medicine!" Gu Fei finally couldn't help but roar, his emotions agitated, and two more liters of blood spurted out, causing Luo Luo over there to panic.
"Let me do it!" The girl who had injured Gu Fei came over.
"What do you want to do?" Huo Qiu said righteously, blocking Gu Fei with his body.
"You bastard, hurry up and apply the medicine..." Gu Fei's voice weakened.
