Hu Die Lan

Chapter 6 A Mage Running So Fast!

Chapter 1 Where to Go?

"Where are we going?" Fireball couldn't help but ask, seeing that they were getting farther and farther away from Cloud City and the newbie training area by the city gate.

"There are too many people there; we can't level up. I'm taking you somewhere," Gu Fei said.

"Where?" Fireball looked around. The surroundings were rolling hills, obviously different from the terrain outside the city. In the game, this meant they were in a new training area.

Gu Fei didn't answer. He just led him up the hill, pointed to a small pond at the foot of the slope, and said, "Look, over there..." He turned his head, but Fireball was gone. Then he heard Fireball's voice coming from his feet, "Damn it! Get down! Are you trying to die? They'll see us!" Fireball was lying prone on the hillside, burying his head in the grass, crawling backward, and speaking to Gu Fei in a suppressed voice, which was extremely difficult for him.

"What are you doing?" Gu Fei asked, amused and annoyed.

"Those are Wanderers! Do you know what level those monsters are? You actually brought me here? I'd better go back outside the city and fight monsters with other people!" Fireball said, already crawling back half a meter before daring to raise his head and speak.

"What's the big deal? Watch this!" Gu Fei smiled and lifted the hem of his mage robe with one hand.

"What are you going to do?!" Fireball was shocked, but then he saw Gu Fei pull out a dagger from under his robe.

"You're... a Thief?" Fireball was stunned.

"Fireball!" Gu Fei called out.

"Hmm?" As Fireball responded, he saw a fireball burning in front of Gu Fei.

Equipment couldn't prove his identity, but skills definitely couldn't be faked. Gu Fei was undoubtedly a mage.

"He's a mage!" Fireball nodded. "Then what are you doing with a dagger?"

"Fighting monsters!" Gu Fei said, leaping down the hillside.

"Hey, you're crazy!" Fireball shouted, then quickly crawled forward half a meter. He raised his head and saw that Gu Fei had already gone halfway down the slope.

"Damn! A mage running so fast!" Fireball exclaimed. At this time, Gu Fei had already run into the visual range of six NPCs. The six stood up and surrounded Gu Fei.

"He's dead! He's definitely dead. That guy is too weak!" Fireball muttered. Six NPCs attacking at once, not to mention they were a level below, even if they weren't, these group-living monsters with a sense of mutual assistance couldn't be soloed by one person. Fireball didn't dare to blink. He felt that Gu Fei could turn into white light in the blink of an eye.

But an incredible scene unfolded before Fireball's eyes. He saw Gu Fei's figure nimbly weaving through the six, the dagger in his hand flying left and right, and from time to time, a splash of blood would erupt, and the NPCs would scream.

Fireball had lost the ability to blink, gasping with his mouth wide open. Just who was this person? Six level 20-ish monsters were being suppressed by him, and all the attacks missed. No, it didn't seem like all the attacks missed; he was dodging them himself. Just what level was this person? Level 40? Level 50? But the game hadn't even been open for a full day. How could there be such a high level? Even if there was such a high level... was there such a mage who went up and fought in melee? Could this be a hidden account? A hidden class? A legendary game balance destroyer? While Fireball was lost in his fantasies, Gu Fei really did turn into streaks of white light in his eyes, the white light of leveling up—the six monsters had already been taken down by him. Because his speed had increased a lot, and he also had a meat-cutting knife as a weapon, Gu Fei's efficiency had improved a lot.

Fireball got up from the ground and waved wildly at Gu Fei.

Gu Fei first looted the NPCs before walking towards Fireball with a carefree smile. In his opinion, killing these six rigid NPCs was really too easy.

"Big brother, what level are you?!" Fireball asked with admiration.

Gu Fei first glanced at his own stats, then looked up and replied, "Level 10."

"What? Level 10?" Fireball, who hadn't been standing straight for long, sat back down on the ground. "Do you know what level they are?" Fireball pointed to the corpses of the six NPCs over there.

"I saw it on the website; they're around level 20!" Gu Fei said.

"Level 10 killing level 20-ish monsters, and one person killing six!" Fireball nodded, as if trying to convince himself to believe it, even though he had just witnessed it with his own eyes.

"What's the big deal? If I can kill them, I'll kill them!" Gu Fei said nonchalantly.

Fireball could only stare with wide eyes and an open mouth. He was speechless. What was this? Was it skill? But what skill was there in a full-immersion game?

"I know kung fu!" Gu Fei smiled.

"Damn, can you even use kung fu to play online games?" Fireball muttered.

Gu Fei didn't have time to reply when he heard a shout from the other side of the hill: "Found them! They're over here!"

Looking in the direction of the voice, he saw a person standing in front of the hillside to the right, gesturing towards them while shouting back to the bottom of the hill.

The two also stood up and looked down the hillside. From all directions, players in twos and threes were running towards them. Gathered together, there were at least several dozen people.

"What's going on? What's going on?" Fireball asked, looking around. "Is there a Boss?" After speaking, he looked around, but besides the six monsters that had just fallen, there were no other NPC figures.

"They're coming for us!" Gu Fei said.

"How do you know?" Fireball asked.

"I sense killing intent!" Gu Fei said.

"Big brother, stop teasing me!" Fireball rolled his eyes.

But Gu Fei's prediction was correct. A group of people gradually gathered at the foot of the hill, approaching them menacingly.

"See? I told you they were coming for us!" Gu Fei said, pointing to a guy at the front.

Fireball squinted and recognized that it was the group of Anti-Sky players he had argued with earlier. "Damn, is it necessary? It's just a pig! Why make such a big fuss?" Fireball cursed, then put on an attitude of not fearing death, "Anyway, I'm level 1."

"Didn't you see that pond over there?" Gu Fei pointed down the hillside.

Fireball remembered that the other party had shouted about throwing him into the river. His face immediately turned pale, and he immediately started making the worst plans: "Is that pond deep?"

"I don't know!" Gu Fei shook his head. At this time, the crowd had already arrived in front of them. Gu Fei had never thought of escaping. Fireball was thinking that he was level 1, so he didn't plan to escape either. But after listening to Gu Fei's reminder and noticing the pond, he was now starting to regret it.

The two sides met. The other party stood in a fan shape, surrounding them, with at least fifty or sixty people. Gu Fei let out a breath. He only knew kung fu, he wasn't a superman. One against fifty or sixty? Even if his kung fu allowed it, his stamina wouldn't. However, it was still up in the air whether they would fight. Looking at the other party's eyes, there was some fear.

"What's the matter?" Gu Fei asked.

"Guild leader, it's him." One person pointed at Gu Fei.

Gu Fei immediately looked at the guy he was calling the guild leader: a skinny young man, not tall, but with his hair standing straight up, which visually elongated his face and height. The skin on his face was rough, with pits and bumps like orange peel. His two small eyes were darting around on Gu Fei's body. Judging by his appearance, Gu Fei thought his profession should be a Thief.

This person looked at Gu Fei for a while, then a smile appeared on his face, "Hello, I am the guild leader of Anti-Sky."

"Hello!" Gu Fei said calmly.

"We all came to Parallel World from Demon Zone," the guild leader said.

Gu Fei nodded. He was also a young man, and he wasn't completely ignorant about online games. He had often heard about the famous Demon Zone. Before Parallel World, Demon Zone was probably the most popular online game. In the school where Gu Fei taught, this game was regarded by the teachers as a terrifying monster, fearing that their students would be snatched away by it if they weren't careful.

But with the advent of full-immersion games, these old online games obviously had no way out. From the start of the Parallel World public beta until now, the number of online players in Demon Zone has repeatedly hit new lows. The most common voices in the world were shouting to sell accounts, all wanting to switch to Parallel World. Although Demon Zone was said to be speeding up the process of full-immersion reform, no matter what, they couldn't get the sweetest first bite of this big cake.

Fireball on the side knew even more than Gu Fei. He had played Demon Zone, so he recognized the name of the Anti-Sky guild. In Demon Zone, this was a quite powerful guild, even famous throughout the entire gaming world. Especially the Anti-Sky guild leader, Sword Demon, who had cultivated the magic swordsman class to the peak of both magic and martial arts. His equipment, level, skills, and operation were all top-notch. He was definitely the number one idol in the minds of Demon Zone players. Fireball had once admired him for a while when he played Demon Zone. He didn't expect to meet him in this situation. Looking at this very wretched young man, Fireball couldn't help but ask, "Are you Sword Demon?"

Gu Fei's calm reaction made Sword Demon feel a little bored, but Fireball's performance made him very satisfied. He nodded slightly and said, "I am! Hello!" He expressed the kind of condescension hidden in his approachability perfectly.

"Damn! Why do you look like this? Are you Sword Demon? Or am I seeing a ghost!" Fireball was obviously outspoken, which stung Sword Demon's sensitive spot.
