Chapter 215 Surround Them (2)
This attack didn't kill the opponent instantly. As the opponent quickly turned around, Sword Demon had already retreated to the side. Several more people jumped out of the formation to chase, but Yun Xiang quickly shouted, "Hold your ground, don't chase! Don't give him a chance to get close again!"
Hearing this, the others stopped and spat hatefully at Sword Demon, provoking him verbally, "Come on! Come over here again!"
Sword Demon remained unmoved. A smile flickered across Young Master Han's lips as he said in the channel, "Qian Li, it's your turn."
"Okay." Gu Fei wiped his sword. "The battle will end soon!"
Gu Fei leaped out of the hollow where he was hiding and charged towards the enemy formation at high speed. All of their archers had been diverted to exchange fire with Yu Tian Shen Ming, so for a moment, no one could intercept Gu Fei's charge. Four people jumped out of the formation to meet him head-on, but Guild Leader Yun Xiang issued another order: "Don't move, wait for him to come close and surround him."
"Surround my ass! Can't you see that guy's a mage?" one of the four snapped.
Yun Xiang was stunned and rubbed his eyes. "A mage? How the hell is a mage running so fast?"
The four gave their guild leader a look of profound contempt and charged towards Gu Fei.
"Don't go! Mages, exchange fire with him," Yun Xiang urged anxiously. Unfortunately, the four completely ignored him, thinking, why make such a fuss about dealing with a mage? As a result, their own mages were hesitant to attack, afraid of hitting the four of them with area-of-effect spells. They wanted to use single-target spells, but the four were running right in front of them, getting in the way. They might accidentally hit them. Nevertheless, some still took action, throwing spells at Gu Fei through the gaps between the four. Some used Rapid Fireballs, and others used the level 40 water-type mage skill, Ice Whirlwind.
"Instantaneous Movement, Activate!" Just as Gu Fei was about to meet the four and collide with the spells, he completed his incantation and instantly teleported past the four and the incoming Rapid Fireballs and Ice Whirlwind, appearing behind them.
Those in the formation saw it clearly, but the four had no idea! They just watched Gu Fei, who had been charging towards them, disappear into thin air. They were still bewildered when their teammates behind them shouted anxiously, "Behind you! Behind you!"
The four still hadn't figured out what was going on, but they instinctively turned to see who was shouting. What greeted them was Gu Fei's sword slashing towards them, the blade glowing with the fire of Dual Flame Flash, slicing across the necks of three of them.
Gu Fei had also learned to be cunning. The spell incantation only needed to be complete and clear; there were no requirements for the decibel level. When showing off, he could sing loudly, but when launching a surprise attack like this, a quiet murmur would suffice, and the effect of the spell was the same.
And Gu Fei's use of swordsmanship was becoming more and more unrestrained. He even used ruthless moves like slitting throats. Gu Fei had rarely used such vicious techniques after mastering them. Even when he had a rare opportunity to spar, everyone would use wooden swords and avoid such moves. In the words of Gu Fei's father: "Sparring is about skill, not life and death!"
But in online games, it was precisely about life and death, and since it was only virtual death, it was even better. With these forbidden techniques enabled, Gu Fei's swordsmanship became more versatile, his attacks more varied, and naturally, he became even stronger. This strength, however, was something that outsiders like Sword Demon couldn't see.
The three whose throats were slit were instantly killed on the spot. It wasn't that Gu Fei didn't want to kill the remaining one of the four, but their positions were too spread out, and Gu Fei's sword had only reached its limit by striking three of them.
With a turn of his blade, Gu Fei ignored the remaining person and charged towards the enemy crowd.
The crowd had already erupted when Gu Fei took down three people with one sword strike.
Who is this guy?
What just happened?
Three people were killed instantly with one move?
Is that a sword in his hand? A mage using a sword? What the hell is this?
Everyone was filled with question marks. But Gu Fei was already rushing forward, and the mages in the crowd hurriedly threw spells at him. Gu Fei ran and swung his sword, the blade flashing, knocking away all the tracking fireballs one by one. Amidst the fiery flames, Gu Fei dodged powerful spells like Rapid Fireballs, charging forward without slowing down.
"Use area-of-effect spells!" Yun Xiang shouted anxiously.
"Use area-of-effect spells my ass! He's so fast, how can area-of-effect spells hit him!" the mages retorted at Yun Xiang in dissatisfaction.
While they were at a loss, Sword Demon's stealth cooldown ended, and he disappeared again before everyone's eyes.
"Ahhh!" The few people responsible for monitoring Sword Demon panicked and shouted, "Mages, come quickly! The thief has stealthed!"
"Busy here!" The mages were busy collectively bombarding Gu Fei and had no time to pay attention to that.
"mLgB! You didn't let us attack earlier, and now he's stealthed again. What do we do?" the few people roared at Yun Xiang.
As they spoke, a white light flashed in the archer formation. Only Yu Tian Shen Ming's Snipe skill had the ability to kill instantly, but it could only be used every 45 seconds, and such a powerful skill required a relatively long casting time. In a suppressive situation with multiple people exchanging fire, Yu Tian Shen Ming had finally found such an opportunity, and one arrow instantly killed one person.
The archers were also furious and vented their anger on Yun Xiang: "Quick, send someone to chop him down! How long are we going to keep shooting like this?"
Yun Xiang also became at a loss. This group of scattered people had been barely cobbled together. As a result, Yu Tian Shen Ming's long-range sniping, Sword Demon's elusive stealth, and the pressure from Gu Fei, who was about to kill them, made everyone feel very insecure. Unable to deal with the three of them, they quickly found an outlet for their frustration in their own people.
At first, everyone blamed Guild Leader Yun Xiang, but it soon spread. The mage group called for archers to intercept Gu Fei, while the thieves called for mages to carpet bomb Sword Demon, and the archers were ordering the thieves to sneak attack Yu Tian Shen Ming at long range.
Everyone believed that their own judgment was the most correct and brilliant, and no one would listen to anyone else. In the midst of a chaotic argument, the thief who was most fiercely calling for mages was stabbed by Sword Demon at close range; the archer who shouted the loudest was shot in the head by Yu Tian Shen Ming; and Gu Fei had already rushed to the front, stabbing and killing a group of mages who were at a loss when someone got close to them.
Sword Demon quickly retreated after stabbing someone, Yu Tian Shen Ming, who had shot someone in the head, accumulated another Snipe and seized the opportunity to kill another person, and Gu Fei, who had rushed to the front, didn't use spells but hacked and slashed at a group of mages, who screamed and wailed.
"Warriors! Warriors, come quickly, where the hell are you all?"
"Mages, that thief will stealth again and we won't be able to find him!"
"Thieves, have you gone over there yet?"
Everyone was unmoved by just calling out their professions. Everyone felt that their mercenary group was the worst group in the world, so everyone started calling their friends.
"Xiao Shui, come quickly and blast that thief!"
"Wild Boar! Come quickly and block that mage!"
"Net, go, stealth over there and kill that archer!"
The 30-person group that had been barely cobbled together fell apart in an instant, and soon returned to the situation at the start of the match, with small teams formed by friends fighting on their own. As a result, there were disputes within the small teams. One said that the mage was too fierce, and they should deal with the mage first; another said that the thief was too cunning, and they should eliminate the thief first; and another said that the archer was too despicable, and they should eliminate the archer first.
Each profession pointed at the opponent they feared the most and demanded that their friends eliminate them first. How could there be any semblance of combat in such a chaotic situation? Even Sword Demon killed another person in another sneak attack, even though his attack power was not at the instant-kill level of Yu Tian Shen Ming and Gu Fei.
"Can I go now!" Zhan Wu Shang, who had been unmoved all this time, felt that it was time for him to go up and reap the battlefield, so he took the initiative to ask Young Master Han for permission to fight.
"You? What are you going to do up there? I think those three are enough," Young Master Han said.
Zhan Wu Shang's eyes widened like bells: "Then what are we doing here?"
"Us? We're just attracting their attention from the front, and then Yu Tian Shen Ming, Sword Demon, and Qian Li launch attacks from three directions. Yu Tian snipes from long range, Sword Demon harasses with guerilla warfare, and Qian Li creates a sense of oppression with massacres. Everything is going smoothly, haven't you seen it?" Young Master Han said.
"Then what about me? What do I do?" Zhan Wu Shang asked.
"You? You stay here to protect me and Brother You!" Young Master Han said.
"What a joke, I want to kill enemies and score points!" Zhan Wu Shang finished speaking and charged forward on his own.
"Damn, unwilling to watch the show, you have to go up there and be a coolie. I really have a hard time understanding the wisdom of you commoners!" Young Master Han muttered to himself, but he and Brother You followed along.
Zhan Wu Shang's entry into the battle only made everything simpler. He plunged into the enemy formation with a charge, and then unleashed Whirlwind Slash in the middle, tearing the enemy formation to pieces. Several people died under his sword, and Zhan Wu Shang's score rose sharply, making him very happy.
The people of Yun Xiang's mercenary group were completely at a loss. Coincidentally, several people saw Brother You and Young Master Han, who were watching from the sidelines. One was a knight and the other was a priest, which were undoubtedly easier to bully. The coordination of the several people was rare and consistent, and they suddenly broke away from the main battlefield and charged towards the two of them.
"No choice, I guess it's up to you," Young Master Han sighed at Brother You. Knights were, after all, more combat-capable than priests.
Brother You was not in the same league as these players to begin with. This Parallel World had randomly assigned him a support class, so he really didn't have much practical experience. Seeing several people rushing over with fierce looks, he also shuddered in his heart.
Just as he was about to close his eyes and fight, a figure flashed before his eyes, and Gu Fei had already drifted to block the way, roaring loudly and unleashing Dual Flame Flash, instantly wiping out two of the opponents.
The remaining three were distraught and turned to flee, shouting incessantly, "Another mage! Another mage! They look exactly the same!"
