Chapter 1 The First Letter

Yinyue didn’t take the first letter from Duanshui Jian to heart. It wasn’t the first time he’d received such letters. He'd once been overjoyed, but after contacting the sender online, he quickly realized it was just a trick to lure him out of the resurrection point. Fortunately, the battle-hardened Yinyue was clever and cautious enough to crawl back to the safety zone of the resurrection point with his last breath. So, while Yinyue saw Duanshui Jian's first letter and replied, he didn't pay much attention to it, still suspecting it was a trap.

Even after receiving the second letter, Yinyue remained vigilant.

He didn't receive a third letter from Duanshui Jian and was congratulating himself on his judgment, thinking he'd seen through the other party's trick and forced them to give up, when he received another letter with a different name. It claimed to be Hongchen Yixiao, frankly stating that he was Duanshui Jian's partner and would personally go to White Stone City to help Yinyue escape.

Yinyue still wasn’t too thrilled, because face-to-face talks weren’t new to him; he’d had many before. But Yinyue was a master manipulator, and these minor characters had never managed to trick him out of the resurrection point.

"This one's contacted me three times in a row; that's unprecedented..." Yinyue muttered, suddenly holding a sliver of hope for this guy. So, he logged on at the appointed time.

Just a short while ago, he received a system message from Hongchen Yixiao requesting to be friends. After confirming, they were officially in contact, and the other party clearly stated he was heading to the White Stone City Knight Camp.

"I await," Yinyue replied calmly. He did have a flicker of hope, but it was only a tenth of his mind; the remaining nine-tenths were still filled with wariness.
