Hu Die Lan
Chapter 545 Helping You Escape
Yinyue didn’t take the first letter from Duanshui Jian to heart. It wasn’t the first time he’d received such letters. He'd once been overjoyed, but after contacting the sender online, he quickly realized it was just a trick to lure him out of the resurrection point. Fortunately, the battle-hardened Yinyue was clever and cautious enough to crawl back to the safety zone of the resurrection point with his last breath. So, while Yinyue saw Duanshui Jian's first letter and replied, he didn't pay much attention to it, still suspecting it was a trap.
Even after receiving the second letter, Yinyue remained vigilant.
He didn't receive a third letter from Duanshui Jian and was congratulating himself on his judgment, thinking he'd seen through the other party's trick and forced them to give up, when he received another letter with a different name. It claimed to be Hongchen Yixiao, frankly stating that he was Duanshui Jian's partner and would personally go to White Stone City to help Yinyue escape.
Yinyue still wasn’t too thrilled, because face-to-face talks weren’t new to him; he’d had many before. But Yinyue was a master manipulator, and these minor characters had never managed to trick him out of the resurrection point.
"This one's contacted me three times in a row; that's unprecedented..." Yinyue muttered, suddenly holding a sliver of hope for this guy. So, he logged on at the appointed time.
Just a short while ago, he received a system message from Hongchen Yixiao requesting to be friends. After confirming, they were officially in contact, and the other party clearly stated he was heading to the White Stone City Knight Camp.
"I await," Yinyue replied calmly. He did have a flicker of hope, but it was only a tenth of his mind; the remaining nine-tenths were still filled with wariness.
"I'm here!" Yinyue, waiting in the camp, suddenly received a message from the other party. He immediately stood up and looked toward the entrance of the Knight Camp.
"Who is it?" Yinyue asked. There were many people coming and going between the resurrection point, the offline area, and the safe zone. The entrance was never empty.
"Waving," the other party replied.
Yinyue immediately saw a player who looked like a priest standing at the entrance, waving his arm. Yinyue quickly used Appraisal Technique.
Level 36, Priest.
"Damn!" Yinyue cursed, not even bothering to evaluate the equipment and immediately stopping the appraisal. In online games, a high level didn't necessarily mean someone was a pro, but a pro had to have a high level. Although it wasn’t easy to create a level gap in Parallel World, Yinyue didn't believe this newbie who hadn't even reached the job change requirement could be some kind of expert. He was too lazy to pay attention to him and prepared to log off.
"Can you see me? Where are you?" Yinyue was about to log off when he received another message from this person.
Yinyue glanced at the guy again, seeing him still waving and searching through the crowd. When his gaze turned to where Yinyue was, it suddenly stopped.
Their eyes met, and Yinyue didn't avoid it. The other party then stopped waving and walked over.
"You're Yinyue?" the person asked as he approached.
Yinyue nodded. Since he'd been recognized, he wasn't afraid to see what tricks the other party had up his sleeve.
"Your situation doesn't seem too good?" Ye Xiaowu looked around. Many passing players were giving Yinyue disdainful glances. Yinyue had really become hardened, completely ignoring them as if no one was there.
"Nonsense." If Yinyue could still be in a good mood at this time, he'd have to be crazy. He didn't even have the energy to pretend to be in a good mood.
"I'm here to help you," Ye Xiaowu said.
"Oh? What are you planning to do?" Yinyue asked calmly. Those who had "face-to-face talks" with him before always started with flowery words, but when it came down to the actual topic, it was always: "Come out with me first." Having been fooled once, Yinyue would immediately curse the other party's ancestors if he heard that sentence again. He was ready to strike, waiting for this newbie to say those words so he could unleash his barrage of insults.
"In this situation, trying to brazenly fight your way out of here is probably impossible for anyone," Ye Xiaowu said.
"Is that so?" Yinyue said.
"Uh, it should be..." Yinyue's question made Ye Xiaowu falter. At that moment, both of them thought of the same person, and a look of grief and indignation appeared on their faces.
No one else could fight their way out, but if it was him, it was not certain...
"Too unfair!" Ye Xiaowu thought.
"Damn it, scoundrel!" Yinyue silently recited the string of curses he had prepared for Gu Fei in his mind. Then, he continued to wait quietly for the other party to speak.
But Ye Xiaowu didn't say much. He simply took out a scroll from his pocket and waved it at Yinyue.
"What scroll is that?" Yinyue couldn't help but ask.
"Teleportation scroll," Ye Xiaowu replied.
Yinyue was stunned, his mind immediately racing.
This method was something he'd never encountered since being trapped here. Were they setting up a trap at the destination? Damn it, it must be that bastard Yun Zhong Mu. Only he would be willing to spend so much just to kill him...
While Yinyue was thinking, he saw Ye Xiaowu unfold the scroll: "Look closely, it's blank. No coordinates have been filled in yet."
"Ah..." Yinyue was taken aback.
"I think you should know that if you use a scroll without coordinates, it's a random teleport, so it's impossible to set up an ambush at the destination beforehand," Ye Xiaowu said.
Yinyue paused. He had indeed heard of this rule. To dispel his doubts, Ye Xiaowu showed him the scroll clearly. Yinyue looked at it carefully, inside and out, and it was indeed a very clean scroll, with not a single word written on it.
"This time, it's real!!!" The tenth of hope that he had before suddenly became ten-tenths. Yinyue, who had been so calm, suddenly became excited. He wished he could hug the scroll and cry bitterly.
"If you're still worried, you can give me a coordinate, and I'll write it down. Then, we can teleport together," Ye Xiaowu said.
Yinyue pondered.
"But I suggest you write down a coordinate that's far away, preferably not within the White Stone City area. I think there could be danger anywhere for you in this main city," Ye Xiaowu said, looking at the many people around them staring at Yinyue. The way these people were looking at him as he negotiated with Yinyue was strange.
"Not within the White Stone City area?" Yinyue became suspicious again when he heard this: "Can't teleportation scrolls teleport outside the main city area?"
"Huh? You don't know the rule? Random teleports can't teleport outside the main city area, but if it's a self-filled coordinate teleport, then it's not restricted," Ye Xiaowu explained.
Yinyue didn't know this rule. Precisely because he didn't know, he was suspicious. He was afraid that this guy was taking advantage of his unfamiliarity with teleportation scroll rules. If he filled in a target that couldn't be teleported to, resulting in a failed teleportation, and the failure caused something that would send him out of the resurrection point, it would still be a controllable trap.
Ye Xiaowu saw Yinyue's hesitation and smiled: "You don't seem to believe me. Then, we can just do a random teleport... But I'm reminding you, random teleports are very dangerous. I won't mention the possibility of teleporting directly outside this door. Even teleporting one yard away from your current coordinate is possible. Or, you could teleport into a monster group in a high-level leveling area and be sent back here, which would be the same as not teleporting at all. I only have this one teleportation scroll."
"Can I fill in a coordinate within this main city?" Yinyue said.
"Of course, but I hope you can be sure of the safety of the coordinate you fill in. You don't want to escape the wolf's den only to enter the tiger's mouth, do you?" Ye Xiaowu said.
Yinyue was tormented. He wasn't familiar with White Stone City at all and didn't know how to fill in a deserted coordinate. With his current reputation in White Stone City, he suspected he would be in danger as long as he teleported to a populated place. As long as someone shouted, "Look, it's Yinyue!" they could quickly form a pursuit squad.
"No, I can't fill in a White Stone City coordinate!" Yinyue gritted his teeth. He agreed with Ye Xiaowu's statement that teleporting within White Stone City would be a disaster. The chances of dying directly would be too high. It seemed like he had to take a gamble and believe this guy's explanation of the teleportation rules to teleport to another main city!
"Alright, I accept your suggestion," Yinyue said.
"Then, I suggest teleporting to Green Shade City," Ye Xiaowu said.
"Green Shade City? Why Green Shade City?" Yinyue immediately became nervous again. He felt that if the initiative wasn't in his hands, it could be a trap.
"Brother, you haven't asked why I'm helping you," Ye Xiaowu said.
Yinyue felt ashamed. He, who always valued profit over righteousness, had actually forgotten to ask about the other party's motive for helping him. This was truly losing his principles.
"I need the power of the King's Sword in your hands. Of course, I don't want the equipment itself. I just hope you'll join us in dealing with a group of people. As for the name of this group of people, I think you won't refuse as soon as you hear it," Ye Xiaowu said.
"The Young Master Elite Group!!!" Yinyue blurted out.
Ye Xiaowu nodded.
"A kindred spirit!!" Yinyue exclaimed excitedly. The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
"You should know the strength of this group of people, especially that Qianli Yizui among them," Ye Xiaowu said.
Yinyue nodded repeatedly, instantly becoming much friendlier to Ye Xiaowu: "Were you also persecuted by them?"
"Persecuted?"
"Your... level..." Yinyue said vaguely. He suddenly realized that this priest was certainly not a newbie either, but because he had clashed with those guys, he had been killed down to this level, just like himself.
"Oh, this has nothing to do with them. I just didn't play much before. I'm in the game now to weaken Qianli Yizui," Ye Xiaowu said.
"Oh! Then what are we waiting for? Let's go!" Yinyue urged.
"Don't worry, we're waiting for one more person. We'll leave together then," Ye Xiaowu replied.
