Chapter 59 Charge Forward

Bai Ye breathed a sigh of relief and sat down to rest.

According to the road signs, the route was correct. However, there was still a considerable distance from the roller coaster to the haunted house. Although the Yellow King was gone for now, Bai Ye was sure that the moment he showed himself, the other party would appear.

And…

The Yellow King had one more troublesome aspect than the Deer Head: it could move using its tentacles, making its pursuit harder to evade.

As Bai Ye pondered, he glanced at the time. Half an hour left!

If there wasn't much time left before the next round of drawing, Bai Ye wouldn't mind waiting for the chance. But with half an hour…

"Let's take a chance!"

Bai Ye took a deep breath and began to walk out along the roller coaster tracks.

Bai Ye didn't expect to reach the haunted house directly, but at least to get as close as possible.

After leaving the building along the tracks, Bai Ye started climbing the roller coaster rails.

Although the tracks were part of the roller coaster, they were not considered part of the building area.

Therefore, Bai Ye climbed quickly, because the Yellow King would definitely pursue him.

The first slope was smooth, but as Bai Ye crested the first hill and started to descend…

A purple glow appeared, and then, in front of Bai Ye, a tentacle suddenly emerged, anchoring itself onto the track and blocking his path.

Bai Ye took a deep breath, gritted his teeth, and leaped directly off the sloped track.

The next moment, the Evil Dragon's Roar opened fire!

Bang!

As Bai Ye pulled the trigger, five energy beams shot forward, illuminating the surroundings, and then…

Boom!

The moment the energy beams hit the tentacle, they instantly pulverized it. Numerous fragments of flesh flew outwards, and even the roller coaster tracks were severed by Bai Ye's shot.

The next instant, Bai Ye pushed off with his legs, crossed the broken tracks, and reached the slope on the other side, climbing upwards with both hands and feet.

He climbed to the very top and looked ahead, able to see more than half of the Death Amusement Park, along with faint lights. The howling night wind continuously blew, like sharp knives, stinging his face with a slight ache.

Bai Ye quickly located the haunted house, but it was quite far from the roller coaster, situated deep within the Death Amusement Park.

So, Bai Ye shifted his gaze from the haunted house and soon landed on a building near the roller coaster.

This was Bai Ye's current target. Descending the slope ahead and entering that building would at least bring him closer to the haunted house, after which he could wait for the next draw.

But…

This was not an easy task!

Bai Ye retracted his gaze and looked down at the tracks.

The Yellow King…

Had arrived!

The Yellow King stood at the bottom of the slope, a purple phantom appearing in its hand. With a wave forward, tentacles began to emerge continuously from both sides of the tracks, forming dense rows that swayed in the night wind.

To move forward, he had to overcome this obstacle!

Bai Ye took a deep breath and swung the Evil Dragon's Roar to the side, saying, "Thorn Blade!"

Five energy beams shot out, quickly transforming into energy blades.

The firearm mode of the Evil Dragon's Roar would definitely be better for dealing with those tentacles, and destroying them from a distance would also prevent them from attacking him.

However, with the Yellow King producing so many tentacles at once, even an idiot like Bai Ye knew what the Yellow King was planning. Once those tentacles attacked, it would be a coordinated assault. Bai Ye could at most fire one or two shots; those tentacles wouldn't give him the opportunity to fire continuously.

In that case, close combat it was!

Bai Ye took a deep breath, gripped the Evil Dragon's Roar horizontally, and pushed his left arm forward. The Hexagonal Prism Shield appeared in Bai Ye's hand.

With his equipment ready, Bai Ye leaped directly downwards.

If the Yellow King retracted those tentacles now, Bai Ye would simply crash onto the ground like a flattened pancake. Fortunately, the Yellow King wasn't that cruel.

With a bang, Bai Ye landed directly on a tentacle, causing it to wobble. He used this to cushion his fall. Then, hooking his foot into a gap between the tracks, he stabilized himself. The Evil Dragon's Roar swung forward, severing that tentacle.

"Ning Shuang, Sword Control!"

With one successful strike, Bai Ye let out a low cry. The Ning Shuang sword vibrated behind him and soon transformed into a silver streak of light, shooting forward.

Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh…

The Ning Shuang sword unleashed its power, piercing through the tentacles ahead in rapid succession and heading straight for the Yellow King, its blade flying towards the Yellow King's face.

However, just as it was about to hit, the Yellow King suddenly waved its hand, swatting the Ning Shuang sword away.

On the other side, Bai Ye surged forward, continuously slashing at the tentacles in front of him.

The Yellow King's tentacles were difficult to deal with, their sheer numbers overwhelming as they continuously tried to strike Bai Ye. However, the Evil Dragon's Roar lived up to its reputation as a high-tier item obtained from the black gacha. Its energy light blades were incredibly sharp, capable of slicing through metal as if it were mud. As Bai Ye cut through the tentacles, he felt no resistance, only the ease with which they were severed.

Ten meters, eight meters, six meters…

As Bai Ye advanced, he also scanned his surroundings.

The fight with the Yellow King wasn't the most important thing; Bai Ye simply wanted to advance as much as possible and close the distance to the haunted house, rather than relying solely on the drawing rounds. Therefore, Bai Ye's current target was a building to the side of the roller coaster.

But at this moment…

Buzz, buzz!

The five energy light blades at the muzzle of the Evil Dragon's Roar suddenly flickered and began to emit strange noises.

Bai Ye's heart sank.

This was bad; the energy crystal was about to run out of power!

The next instant, the five energy light blades of the Evil Dragon's Roar suddenly vanished. Without the Evil Dragon's Roar to block, a tentacle immediately lashed out at Bai Ye's waist.

This blow caught Bai Ye off guard, sending him tumbling off the tracks. Fortunately, Bai Ye reacted quickly, grabbing the edge of the track and hanging in mid-air.

"Ning Shuang, Sword Frost!"

Seeing the tentacles smashing towards him, Bai Ye quickly shouted.

The Ning Shuang sword immediately abandoned the Yellow King and flew back. At the same time, it conjured a large expanse of frost in mid-air, covering the surroundings.

Crack, crack!

As the frost surged, the surfaces of the tentacles were immediately covered with a layer of solid ice, freezing them in place.

This gave Bai Ye a moment to breathe. He quickly used both hands to pull himself back onto the tracks.
