Jin Sha looked at Bai Ye’s bewildered expression and couldn’t help but ask, “You don’t know about the Ice God Pillar, Regice?”
Bai Ye shook his head. “No.”
Jin Sha saw Bai Ye’s genuine confusion and didn’t think he was lying. She asked, “Then why are you here?”
“I accidentally crossed the regional boundary and ended up here. There’s no other reason,” Bai Ye casually lied, not intending to mention the Xenomorphs or the Predators. He then asked, “That Regi what’s-its-name?”
Jin Sha replied, “Regice.”
“Oh, right,” Bai Ye said. “What exactly is Regice?”
“A summoned beast!” Jin Sha didn’t hide anything. So many people were here for Regice, so it didn’t matter if one more person knew. She directly stated, “Not just any summoned beast, but a legendary summoned beast.”
“Regice’s image comes from Hebrew legends of the Golem, a servant of worldly powers. Its body is made from ice from the Ice Age, and it can manipulate cold air at minus two hundred degrees Celsius.”
“In legend, Regice often sleeps deep within glaciers. About six days ago, someone spotted Regice in this glacier, which led to rumors that Regice had awakened from the ice. Those who heard the news, especially people from the summoned beast world, naturally became excited and all came to the glacier.”
Bai Ye chuckled. “You want to capture Regice, right?”
Jin Sha also laughed. “Isn’t that obvious?”
Summoned beasts, Bai Ye wasn’t very familiar with.
However, if Regice was truly as divine as Jin Sha described, it would at least be a red-quality summoned beast, if not gold.
Given the time since the world battlefield opened and the current strength levels of everyone, Bai Ye thought it was pure wishful thinking. Forget about capturing it; they should first consider if they’d be killed.
But…
Bai Ye looked at Jin Sha and said, “But I feel, from your tone, that not everyone is here for Regice?”
Jin Sha replied, “Regice happens to be a summoned beast that exists in my world, so I’m very clear about how powerful Regice is. As one of the three legendary ice-type summoned beasts, how could Regice be easily captured? However, there’s still hope, because capturing a summoned beast doesn’t necessarily rely on strength…”
“Then what?” Bai Ye couldn’t help but interject. “Love and justice?”
Jin Sha rolled her eyes and then said, “Appealing to its preferences, personality compatibility, and sometimes, it’s even possible for a summoned beast to like you the moment it sees you, which is what’s called fate. Or through long-term interaction, summoned beasts are like people; once emotional bonds are formed, they don’t need force to be captured.”
Bai Ye smiled. “I don’t have much research on summoned beasts, but I know the probability of the former methods is very small, and the smarter the summoned beast, the smaller the probability. If Regice is truly a legendary summoned beast, then it’s even less likely. As for long-term interaction, although there are special circumstances, how can you have long-term interaction with a summoned beast if you haven’t captured it?”
Jin Sha nodded. “Yes, so I don’t expect to capture Regice.”
Bai Ye asked, “Then what’s your reason for being here? You’re not just passing by like me, are you?”
“Of course not!” Jin Sha said. “Although I have no desire for Regice, don’t forget that Regice is a summoned beast that exists in my world. I understand some of its habits. When a legendary summoned beast like this appears, it will definitely attract other summoned beasts, and among them, there will be powerful or rare ones.”
Bai Ye showed a look of realization. “So, your target is actually those summoned beasts that appeared in the glacier because of Regice?”
Jin Sha snapped her fingers. “Correct.”
Bai Ye nodded, then looked at his cup and smiled. “Thank you for the cocoa.”
“You’re welcome,” Jin Sha said. “It’s all from the monitoring station. I just did you a favor. By the way…”
Jin Sha stopped mid-sentence, looked Bai Ye up and down, and became more convinced that Bai Ye had accidentally come here, not for Regice. This was because Bai Ye was dressed too thinly, without a down jacket or cotton coat, which was not the attire for entering a glacier.
Jin Sha pointed to a door on the side. “You’ll be in trouble dressed like that. There are some cotton coats hanging there; you can go get one to wear.”
“Okay!” Bai Ye said. “Thank you.”
After nodding in acknowledgment, Bai Ye walked towards the room Jin Sha indicated, his mind racing.
Bai Ye’s first thought was that he had entered the wrong area.
While it was a glacier, it wasn’t the glacier he intended to go to.
After all, Bai Ye had actually been to this area in his previous life…
However, he had never heard of the legendary Ice Pillar God, Regice.
But after some thought, Bai Ye felt there must have been some accident, and this should be the technological area he was looking for.
The reason was simple: on the outer wall of this monitoring station, there was a logo, a large golden circle with the English letters “jw” inside. This logo was the group logo of the great tycoon, Villand. J and w were actually the initials of Villand’s full name.
Therefore, he concluded that this monitoring station was built by Villand.
Since this point was correct, it meant that this glacier was indeed being explored by the scientific research team established by Villand, and the pyramid-shaped ancient human ruins were located beneath the glacier. He hadn’t come to the wrong place.
So, what was the Ice Pillar God?
How did Regice suddenly appear?
Bai Ye pondered this as he opened the door and entered the room.
It was a storage room for daily necessities. Cotton coats were hanging in a large wardrobe on the side. Bai Ye casually took one that fit his size and put it on, immediately feeling much warmer.
In fact, with Bai Ye’s current physical attributes, he could endure this icy and snowy weather wearing just a t-shirt. But if he could be warmer, why would he seek suffering?
As Bai Ye put on the coat, he suddenly stopped and looked at a shelf on the side.
On the shelf were two photo frames, containing a man and a woman, presumably a couple and both members of the scientific research team.
And in another larger photo frame was a group photo of about twenty people, all key members of the scientific research team. In the center, Bai Ye found a blond man over fifty years old. Based on his memory, Bai Ye was certain this man was Villand.
This confirmed that he had not entered the wrong area.
“Ah!”
Just as Bai Ye was thinking…
A scream suddenly rang out.
…
