Walking down the street with Gilgamesh, there were still quite a few vehicles and pedestrians.
Fuyuki City was more prosperous than Bai Ye had imagined, otherwise the streets wouldn't be this lively at this hour.
Gilgamesh asked, "When will we arrive?"
Bai Ye pointed to a towering hotel in the distance and said, "How about there?"
Gilgamesh nodded, "Not bad, let's go faster."
Bai Ye replied, "Not so fast, I need to take care of something first."
Gilgamesh looked at Bai Ye with confusion.
Bai Ye explained, "I need to rob someone first. Do you think living in such a luxurious hotel is free? You also want fine wine and delicacies. Do you think I can conjure them?"
As Bai Ye spoke, he grabbed a man in a suit carrying a briefcase.
"Hey, give me your money!" Bai Ye materialized his famous sword, Bloodthirst, and held it to the man's neck, saying, "iC, ip, iQ card, tell me all your passwords."
Seeing the gleaming sword tip, the man frantically fumbled through his bag, pulling out cash, bank cards, and credit cards. Trembling, he stammered, "B-big brother, what's an iQ card?"
"Intelligence quotient, idiot," Bai Ye replied, taking the items. "What about the password?"
Before the man could speak, Gilgamesh snatched the items away and then shoved them back into the man's hand.
Gilgamesh looked at the man and said, "Let's go, he was just kidding."
The man looked uncertainly at the sword in Bai Ye's hand, took a few tentative steps back, and seeing that Bai Ye wasn't pursuing, quickly took off running.
Bai Ye looked at Gilgamesh and asked, "What do you mean?"
"My greatest pleasure is to seek out the treasures of this world," Gilgamesh said, hands behind his back. "However, a king should have the bearing of a king, so I never plunder the wealth of commoners."
"He's not your subject," Bai Ye spread his hands. "And this isn't your country."
Gilgamesh countered, "Before the king of this country became king, I was already king. Therefore, I should demonstrate my magnanimity even more."
"Fine, you're noble, you're amazing," Bai Ye rubbed his fingers together, making a money-counting gesture. "Since you're so magnanimous, you probably wouldn't want to stay in a hotel for free or dine and dash without paying. And without money, none of this is possible."
Gilgamesh glanced at Bai Ye with disdain, then casually reached out, his arm piercing through the void. Immediately, Gilgamesh produced a gold bar weighing at least three pounds and tossed it to Bai Ye.
"I have never seen such impoverished individuals as yourselves," Gilgamesh declared. "How could someone like you have summoned me?"
Bai Ye really wanted to retort, but looking at the gold bar in his hand...
Damn it, he really couldn't retort.
With gold, everything became easier. It was a universal currency, and as long as one was willing to accept a discount, it could be exchanged for money anywhere.
Soon, the gold in Bai Ye's hand was transformed into a whole box of cash.
Gilgamesh said with satisfaction, "This is why I love gold. Anytime, as long as you have brilliant gold in hand, there's nothing you can't buy."
Bai Ye remarked, "Since you like gold so much, why don't you change your name to 'Golden Sparkle'?"
"Insolence! My name..."
Before Gilgamesh could finish speaking, he suddenly looked up at the sky.
Bai Ye also felt something and quickly pulled away, exclaiming, "They're here!"
And in that instant...
From the dark shadows behind Bai Ye, a figure suddenly appeared, its silhouette illuminated by the dim streetlights.
Bai Ye's heart leaped in surprise. It wasn't from above, but from behind him?
The next moment, a short sword materialized in the figure's hand, sweeping horizontally towards Bai Ye's throat.
Just as the short sword was about to strike Bai Ye...
Suddenly, Bai Ye's figure vanished without a trace.
Teleportation!
When Bai Ye reappeared, he was already behind the attacker, and with a swift kick, he swept towards the figure.
However, the opponent's agility was greater than Bai Ye had anticipated. Sensing Bai Ye's appearance behind him, the figure leaped forward.
Upon landing, the figure braced itself with one hand on the ground, then performed a series of somersaults, creating distance.
Bai Ye looked at the attacker and asked, "Ninja?"
The figure was clearly dressed in a Japanese ninja outfit, bent slightly at the waist, holding a short sword in a reverse grip.
The figure slowly straightened up and then looked at Bai Ye, saying, "Servant, Assassin, Fuuma Kotaro. Though I am not talented, I humbly request your guidance!"
As Fuuma Kotaro spoke, he glanced in Gilgamesh's direction.
Gilgamesh suddenly chuckled and stood by the streetlight, leaning against it with his arms crossed.
"Hey, what's the meaning of this?" Bai Ye asked. "Someone's trying to kill your Master!"
Gilgamesh shrugged, looking as if he were enjoying a show.
Master and Servant discord?
Fuuma Kotaro intended to retreat. As an Assassin-class Servant, frontal combat was not his forte, so the best course of action after a failed assassination was to withdraw and await another opportunity.
But if the Master and Servant were at odds...
Perhaps this was an opportunity!
Fuuma Kotaro suddenly began to run rapidly, circling Bai Ye quickly.
Strangely, as he ran, Fuuma Kotaro's figure completely merged with the surrounding shadows.
Tap, tap, tap, tap, tap...
Only the crisp sound of footsteps continuously echoed around Bai Ye.
Bai Ye muttered a curse.
With Gilgamesh on strike, Bai Ye was left to handle it himself.
Suddenly, a gust of wind sounded.
Bai Ye looked to the side, and three shuriken were flying towards him.
Bai Ye quickly retreated, intending to manifest a sword, but found that the Steel Slime was unresponsive.
"Damn it!"
He had forgotten that the Seven-Colored Rainbow had been completely destroyed while fighting the Ancient Mechanical Giant.
Fortunately, Bai Ye's reaction was not slow. Remembering this, he immediately drew his famous sword, Bloodthirst, and swung it forcefully forward, deflecting the three shuriken.
Clang, clang, clang...
The three shuriken were deflected by Bai Ye's swing, but the moment they ricocheted...
Another sound came from behind Bai Ye.
As he turned his head, three more shuriken flew towards him.
He sharply turned his head, and the three shuriken whizzed past his cheek.
A faint scent of blood!
Bai Ye reached out and touched his cheek, his fingertips finding a trace of blood.
Fuuma Kotaro quickly retreated, soon disappearing back into the shadows without a sound. Following that, the sound of footsteps began to echo around Bai Ye again.
Swift, fast, with bizarre rhythmic changes, making it difficult to pinpoint his location based on the footsteps.
Suddenly...
Another gust of wind!
