Chapter 1356: Chapter 1356: Two Ye Qilan (6)

Su Hongxing smiled faintly, “Mo Li, I wish you happiness too.”

A man as good as him should meet an excellent woman who matches him. She should have exited his world long ago.

“Su, walk me out one last time,” Mo Li’s gaze was gentle like water.

Su Hongxing nodded and accompanied Mo Li to the parking lot.

Mo Li opened the car door, about to get in, but couldn’t help asking, “Su, if I had met you before Ye Qilan, would I have had a chance?”

Su Hongxing slowly shook her head.

The deep bond she had with Ye Qilan was undeniable. Wherever she was, Ye Qilan would be there too. Such a scenario was impossible.

“You are always so straightforward,” Mo Li sighed lightly. “I’m leaving now, take care of yourself. Though you said you don’t want to see me anymore, if you ever face trouble, I still hope you’ll reach out to me. In my heart, you’ll always be my friend.”

Su Hongxing’s eyes stung slightly, but she nodded in agreement.

Watching Su Hongxing’s figure grow smaller and smaller in the distance, Mo Li could not say he wasn’t sad. The first woman he’d ever loved, and perhaps the only woman he’d ever truly love in his life, was now walking out of his life.

He used to believe that even if she were married, as long as he didn’t desire too much, he could still stay by her side as a friend. But now he realized that was just wishful thinking and greed…

When Su Hongxing returned to her office, she found Little Pudding still wiping her tears. The moment she saw her, Little Pudding rushed over, sobbing and saying she didn’t want to go to school.

Su Hongxing, already agitated, lost her temper with Little Pudding, “If you don’t behave, I won’t want you anymore!”

Hearing this, Little Pudding froze, tears as big as beans streaming down her face, but she didn’t dare to sob aloud.

Seeing Little Pudding like this, Qiao Qiao’s heart ached. She quickly comforted the child, “Your mom is just joking. If she doesn’t want you, you can be my daughter.”

Su Hongxing is really unbelievable. How could she bear to lose her temper at such an adorable child?

“I want my mommy, not Aunt Qiao,” Little Pudding looked at Su Hongxing, tears continuously falling.

Su Hongxing regretted her outburst right after yelling. Seeing the child cry so sorrowfully, she pulled the little girl into her arms and softly comforted her, “Listen to mommy, you’ll start school next month. You can’t be unreasonable anymore, okay?”

Little Pudding nestled into Su Hongxing’s arms, staying quiet and letting her tears fall silently.

Seeing her like this, Su Hongxing softened again. This child was smart. If she didn’t want to go to school, maybe it was okay to delay it a little longer?

Because of Little Pudding, Su Hongxing had no time to let her thoughts wander for the rest of the afternoon. It wasn’t until Ye Qilan came after work to pick her up that he noticed Little Pudding’s dejected demeanor. He picked up Little Pudding, “Mommy lost her temper with you, didn’t she?”

Little Pudding nodded, “Daddy, I don’t want to go to school. I just want to stay with mommy.”

She didn’t dare look at Su Hongxing and instead clung to Ye Qilan’s neck, acting spoiled.

Ye Qilan glanced at Su Hongxing, who was staring at him. He chuckled softly, “Didn’t you say you wanted to protect mommy and daddy in the future? If you don’t go to school and don’t learn, you won’t gain any skills. If that happens, you’ll always be mommy’s burden.”

Little Pudding seemed to partially understand, “Then can I study while staying with mommy?”

That way, she could learn skills and still protect mommy.

Ye Qilan was at his wit’s end and turned to Su Hongxing, “Our daughter is really smart. Trying to fool her is no easy task.”

Su Hongxing was also helpless.

Little Pudding wasn’t the average child. To get her to willingly attend school would surely require a lot of effort.
