Chapter 1879: Chapter 1879: Negotiation
The Great Magician also fell to his knees, his face sorrowful as he said, “My God, we would fight on if there were even a glimmer of hope. Back then, although we were nearly wiped out, behind the high walls, you slaughtered so many Demigods that they dared not show their faces, and we gradually regained the upper hand.”
“However, now our strategy has failed. Continuing this way will only lead to true annihilation with no chance of victory. You are wise and mighty; why persist? Do you truly wish for us all to head toward destruction?”
They were genuinely afraid, having just witnessed terrifying spells in a short period.
At its peak, the Raven God was strong beyond words, a single spell could decimate a million troops—what a horrifying power. Such destruction had not been seen for many years, probably only in the ancient wars against endless demons who feared no catastrophic spells, regardless of how many were slain, more demons could be summoned through Demon Transmission.
But in this direct confrontation, how many troops did they have in total? A spell that could instantly annihilate a million troops with rolling thunders struck fear into countless hearts.
The dazzling flashes of lightning caught everyone’s attention. They initially thought they glimpsed the dawn of victory, only to find that the opponents were fiercer. Li Yao, with his main deity-like power, was even more terrifying, silently obliterating more of their armies, turning them into a fearsome Legion of faceless beings.
Before considering regrouping the Worm Tribe’s great army, just these faceless legions and the numerous self-explosive bugs, before being exhausted, would take with them at least an equivalent number of Ogres.
No analysis was needed here; anyone with a bit of knowledge could foresee the outcome. So how could they continue this fight? Fight what exactly?
The Demigod they worshipped had less than one-third of his health remaining, consistently being drained of vitality and flesh by the dark touch and parasitic worms. Their God would surely fail.
Their God could still fight now, but if their God were to be killed, even if Li Yao’s combat strength wasn’t at the main deity level,
Li Yao and the Black Dragon Queen would be unleashed; the outcome was predictable, and then they, the strong Ogres, would be the next to die.
If most of them were killed, there would only be two paths for the remaining Ogres: a leaderless group destined to be slaughtered, although perhaps Li Yao would not go that far.
But they couldn’t accept the second path any more: submitting like the Ogres of Dire Maul, only for many to survive, but the tribe’s name would disappear from the world.
They couldn’t accept either result, so the best outcome now was to acknowledge defeat while they still had negotiating power, at least preserving the surviving members. If negotiations failed, they could still fight desperately and buy the clan’s seeds time to leave.
“Cowards, you have lost your backbone. What’s the use of living if you’re all alive? A fight to the death still holds the possibility of victory. Even if I die and the space vanishes, without his main deity power, he would lose control over the faceless ones as well.” The rage in the Raven God’s voice was palpable, anyone could hear the terrifying fury.
“Even if the faceless ones aren’t controlled, what then? The enemy still has over ten million troops, not to mention the Black Dragon Queen and the Frontier Marshal. Who can stand against them?” The Great Magician bowed his head to the ground, “My God, we plead for negotiations, admit defeat.”
“My God, give us a way out.” The Great Commander and others prostrated themselves completely.
“Good, good, very good. You dare defy my orders, I…”
The Raven God wanted to say more but suddenly saw Li Yao appear instantly before him. Before any reaction, he was engulfed by endless dark touches.
“Stubborn fool, did you really think my inaction meant I couldn’t move?”
Li Yao looked at the Raven God, who had shrunk numerous times to fit in his palm, with disdain.
In this moment, the lines in Li Yao’s palm transformed into endless mountain ranges, interwoven with infinite dark touches.
The Raven God was like an insignificant ant amid those mountains and dark touches, frantically darting around, casting spells and attacking constantly. Yet the destruction of the dark touches was inconsequential, while the chasms and peaks were insurmountable.
“Damn it, if you have the guts, fight me head-on. What skill is it to simply control?” The Raven God remained defiant.
“Heh, didn’t you say Aviana intentionally stayed within the Endless Cage? If you can escape, I’ll fight you. But the result will only be worse for you, perhaps even injuring your divine spirit. Are you willing to accept that outcome?” Li Yao asked, without looking at the raging and roaring Raven God, but instead at the Great Magician, “You wish for negotiations, right? Fine. If victory can be achieved without sacrificing the army, I have no reason to kill you all.”
The Ogre champions rose, the Great Magician bowed, “The Governor’s mercy is beyond words, we thank you endlessly.”
Seeing that Li Yao was neither tyrannical nor condescending as a victor, their evaluation of him rose another level. Such a glorious victory, but compare the others to just the new recruits.
The victorious recruits trembled with excitement, while the soldiers on their side drooped dejectedly, yet Li Yao remained calm as ever.
“No need for gratitude. I know many of you are unconvinced. I can disclose one piece of information: our ultimate strategy includes a catastrophic spell scroll and two semi-catastrophic spell arrays as our trump cards. You might also have such resources, but at that price, your Ogres would truly be critically weakened, with hardly enough defense troops left. At that point, I wouldn’t hold back, slaughtering your armies and annihilating your race.” Li Yao spoke slowly.
“The Governor has unmatched prowess and flawless strategies; we are sincerely and obediently defeated in this battle,” the Great Magician said. For now, he had no mind to question the truth of Li Yao’s words, as they had already conceded defeat.
“Flattery is unnecessary. Since you choose to surrender and negotiate, I have ceased fighting immediately. But three prerequisites must be agreed upon, otherwise, my apologies, the battle will continue until you are willing to do so.” Li Yao’s tone was somewhat aggressive.
Yet the tasks at the Great Magician’s level, admitting defeat, naturally would not result in impetuousness.
“What are the three conditions?” In truth, the Great Magician could faintly guess, his heart aching unbearably.
“Very simple: the three prerequisites for negotiation are the clear allocation of the main city, the rotation of troops, and the migration of civilians.” Li Yao did not wait for the Great Magician to speak further, “This means the main city belongs to me now. Your army will hand over their weapons, and we will ensure the safe relocation of the civilians, ensuring their safety.”…
