Chapter 202: The King and Queen

Kai wasn’t fazed by the splendor and extravagance of the Royal Castle. Sure, it was the second-best building he had ever seen in his time in this world, right after the Church of Gracia, but he was so used to seeing these types of buildings that his reaction to them was simple.

"Nice." He said, nodding at the castle.

"Come, hurry! Let’s meet my parents."

Tyria pulled Kai’s arm and dragged him inside the castle. They went through the main gate, being allowed to pass, and went directly into the hall. Tyria looked left, then right, then forward, not knowing which way to go.

"Minister, where are my parents?" Tyria asked the man.

Kai wasn’t surprised to see people from the church roaming the castle. It was quite normal even in his world.

"They are currently in the throne room having an important meeting."

"Thank you! Let’s go, Kai!"

"Y-Your Highness! It wouldn’t be wise to disturb them!" The minister warned

"It’s okay! Thanks anyway."

The minster sighed. "Oh dear."

At the doors that led into the throne room, the guards prevented Tyria from entering. While she was the princess, her authority did not exceed the king and queen.

"Sorry, your highness, but I have to follow orders." The guard remained firm.

"That’s fine, but what will my parents say when I tell them that you stopped me from introducing the Hero who defeated the demon king?" She smirked.

The guard perked up and looked at Kai. He wasn’t convinced that he was the hero, but that subject wasn’t a light matter to talk about, so he was inclined to believe the princess.

"Oh, right." Kai pulled out the hero sword.

The way the guard’s face went from skepticism to shock needed to be studied. His heart nearly jumped out of his chest upon seeing the blade.

"I-IT’S AN HONOR TO MEET YOU, SIR HERO!" He bowed so low that his head banged against the floor.

"Nice to meet you, too. So, gonna open the door?" Kai asked

"Right away, Sir!" He placed a hand on the door, and a complex magic circle appeared, then shattered.

"You can enter now."

"Thanks."

The two massive doors opened to a large room with two thrones at the end of the hall. Standing below the throne were many people that Kai did not recognize, and there was even one man in shackles.

"I’ll have to see what...Tyria?" The king asked. "What are you doing here? Didn’t I tell the guards not to let you enter at this moment?!"

"Sorry, Dad, but this guy here he’s the one who saved me when I ran away. He’s also the hero."

Audible gasps escaped the mouths of every person in the room. Shock filled their bodies, and a smile crept up on the king’s face.

"Well, why didn’t you say so?! Haha! Welcome, young hero! It is an honor to meet you." The king stepped down from his throne, along with his wife, and approached Kai.

"It’s an honor to meet the Mighty King and Beautiful Queen of this kingdom." Kai shook the king’s hand while kissing the hand of the queen.

He noticed that Tyria’s father had brown skin like hers, but her mother had white skin. He didn’t know she was a mixed elf. But then her eyes gave it away. Her mother had golden eyes, while her father had silver.

The queen giggled at Kai’s compliment. "Fufu, what a charmer. You didn’t tell me that your friend was this handsome, Tyria."

’God damn! This is Tyria’s mother?!’ The Queen had a soft, beautiful, mature, motherly expression that reminded him of Erika. Her body was also something else. Calling her beautiful or saying that she had an amazing body was an understatement. It would be best to say that she was crafted by Gracia herself.

"Is he that handsome?" Tyria looked into Kai’s eyes and blushed. "M-Maybe he’s a bit cute, I guess."

"Thanks to you, the demon king will no longer threaten our land for a long time, and we can rebuild all the destruction that was caused in your battle. For protecting the continent and saving my daughter, you have my utmost thanks and are welcome in this castle at all times."

"Thank you, King Sarkylla."

"It’s no big deal. So, is there anything you wish to talk about?" He asked

"Uhh, I don’t know. It was Tyria who brought me here. She said that she wanted me to meet you two."

Tyria stepped between the two of them. "Dad, he can help with Uncle."

"Hmmm, yes. Perhaps he can. Excuse me, Sir Kai,"

"Kai is fine," Kai responded.

"Kai, then. You managed to uncover that my brother planned on overthrowing me, and while we did manage to take care of some of his backers, my brother still hasn’t come clean. Do you think you can help with that?"

"Heh, absolutely."

The king directed Kai to the man in chains, who happened to be the King’s brother. The elf was clearly beaten and tortured to get information, but Kai could already tell that he had a tough mind.

Even his hypnosis color was red. While Thorax wasn’t more powerful than him, his mind exceeded Kai’s hypnosis ability, which wasn’t able to get stronger with points. He could only expand the way it’s used, such as hypnotizing multiple people at the same time, hypnotizing a whole continent, or even hypnotizing people telepathically.

"We’ve tried all sorts of methods. Torture, compulsion, mind reading, poison, mutilation, threats, and we’ve even destroyed his mana, yet he still wont talk."

"He’s one tough cookie, huh?" Kai smirked. "But for me, there’s no such thing as a tough cookie."

"Trust me, we’ve done a lot to his body and he’s still holding on. His mind is very strong, so don’t be surprised if nothing works." The king wasn’t expecting much, but he hoped Kai was different.

"Don’t worry, future father-in-law, your brother will talk once I’m done with him." Kai walked closer to Thorax and smirked in his face.

"You wont break me. I don’t care that you’re the hero. Now fuck off, I’d rather die than talk."

Kai shrugged. "Okay." He flicked Thorax’s head, obliterating his entire body.
