Chapter 233: Introducing The...What’s our team name again?

Elyn gratefully accepted the gifts of everyone, letting them pile up in her office as she handed them all to her assistant. She genuinely thanked all of them and wished them a good time.

After waiting a good bit so she wouldn’t spoil the mood, she decided to make an announcement. She clanked on her glass, amplifying the sound, and got everyone’s attention.

"Hello everyone, I once again want to thank everyone for coming and for giving me these amazing gifts. I hope the food and drinks are to your liking. Now, there are some people I wish to introduce to you all."

Elyn directed everyone’s attention to six people sitting around a table, motioning for them to come up to the stage.

Gwen, Amaya, Sasha, Kyana, and Nadya all got up and started walking over to the stage, but then Gwen noticed Kai sleeping in his chair, slapped his arm, and pointed at the stage.

"Alright, alright, I’m coming. Damn, a man can’t even get some beauty sleep." Kai grumbled as he stretched his arms.

"You see, everyone, without these six individuals, the blue tower would have been left in a difficult position. A lot of people turned on me, and I lost even more who were still on my side. But these six, who had nothing to do with us, decided to come to our aid and help us through this crisis. As a thank you, I’ve welcomed them into the Blue Magic Tower."

Everyone clapped to show respect. Gaining new members was a good thing, but six new members weren’t enough to make the Blue Tower get back on the front page...at least that’s what they thought.

Even the other tower masters were laughing in their heads until they heard what Elyn said next.

"It was this man here, Kai LuForia, who healed my wounds, restored my sight, and fixed my mana network. But that’s not all, he also made me stronger, allowing me to go from a tier-8 sorcerer to a tier-9 sorcerer." Elyn showcased her magic power so everyone could feel that she was telling the truth.

’What?!’ Aleah perked up in her seat. It wasn’t just her, but all the tower masters did as well as some other people around the banquet.

’He healed her and made her stronger? I don’t feel any nefarious energy coming from her body either. This means that she didn’t use drugs or dark magic, and that kid, Kai, can make people stronger!’ Aleah now understood why Elyn was smiling and didn’t take anything she and the other tower masters said to heart. She was sitting on a treasure this whole time.

’Damn that Elyn!’ Galen cursed.

Tharn also clenched his fists in anger.

"But that is not all, Kai, including his friends, here, Gwen, Amaya, Sasha, Kyana, and Nadya, are all Tier-10 sorcerers."

Boom

Nothing exploded, but that’s how it felt in everyone’s minds. Elyn didn’t just get her hands on a guy who could heal mana networks, but six tier-10 sorcerers. The number of sorcerers who reached tier-10 was not that high on the continent, so to get six of them would shift the power dynamic the towers had with each other.

’This...This is not fair! How the fuck did she get her hands on not one but SIX tier-10 sorcerers?! She has to be lying! Yes, she’s definitely lying!’ This is the conclusion Galen and Tharn came to. They refused to believe that the six of them on the stage were that strong.

As for Aleah, she wasn’t stupid. She knew that Elyn would never lie about something like this, and she introduced them after getting all the gifts to throw all the leverage they had out of the window.

’Well played, Elyn. Well played. That Kai guy is really handsome, though.’ She licked her lips.

"Amazing! Truly amazing!" Galen clapped his hands. "To think that you managed to recruit six tier-10 sorcerers. That’s Elyn for you."

"Get to the fucking point." Elyn now had no problem showing her true colors. Most people knew that they were acting anyway.

Galen was also glad that they didn’t have to act anymore. "I don’t believe that the six of them are as strong as you say, and if they are, then shouldn’t it be fair to let them join some of our towers?" He brought Aleah and Tharn into this.

Elyn chuckled. "And why is that?"

"The strongest of us was Master Aleah, but you now match her strength. That alone is okay, but having six tier-10s in your tower while none of us don’t will not be good for the power dynamic."

"So you’re upset that these people have talent and wish to study at my tower? Is that it?" Elyn phrased it as if the White Tower master was jealous

"No, that’s not it. I just think it will be fair if we could at least have one Tier-10 sorcerer on our side. We even have the resources to nurture them."

"Hmmm. I see. Well, if they wish to join you, then I have no problem with it. However, you’ll have to convince them yourself."

’Yes! I have just the thing to use on-’

"No thanks."

"Not interested."

"You look like a snobby brat."

"You’re annoying."

"I don’t think working under you will be fun."

Kai nodded at all of his girls’ responses. Then, the time came for him to speak up.

"I don’t mind."

Everyone turned to him. He was the prize anyway, and all three masters wanted him. The ability to fix a mana network was not something a sorcerer would pass up on.

"But, you have to beat me in a duel. I won’t work under a person who’s weaker than me." Kai stated firmly.

"But you’re working under Master Elyn." Galen argued.

"Yeah, but she’s hot, so it doesn’t count. Plus, we’re partners, not employer and employee. I know my worth. Do you know yours?"

’Fucking stupid bastard!’ Galen cursed in his head.

"Fine. I’ll fight! You’d better honor your word if you lose."

Kai just waved him off. "Sure, sure. Come on, I want to go back to sleep." He erected a barrier around the center of the hall so no one would get hurt.

"You can go all out in here."

Galen smirked. "I think this barrier might not be able to handle my full power."

"You won’t even be able to use your full power since this will be over before you can even think."

"Arrogant bastard. We’ll see about that!"

"Sorcerers, prepare your spells!"

’I’ll use my most powerful spell at the start and end this quickly.’ Galen smirked.

"Ready....BEGIN!"

"Before Galen could even process Kai’s movements, he was slammed into the barrier by something that smashed into his head. When everyone looked at Kai to see what had happened, they saw wind swirling around his middle finger.

"Loser." Kai deactivated the barrier and wen’t back to his seat.
