Chapter 348: Lord and Lady

"You may now kiss the bride,"

That was another invitation Silas did not need to be offered twice. Although, he didn’t have to pull her in. Arabella did so on her own.

Both leaned forward so that their lips could touch.

A sweet tinge slipped through to his mouth as soon as they connected. The lip paint that had been used on her having, null doubt, been made out of a fruit or flower that yielded that sort of taste.

So warm and soft they were that he wished to suck on them. However, Silas assumed doing so in front of an audience wouldn’t have pleased his wife and so refrained from the action.

The passion was there, the longing too. The couple had shut their eyes to bask in each other’s essences without any external distraction.

They kept sweet and maintained contact until the second round of thundering applause exploded in the hall.

That was their cue to break it off and turn to show their gratitude to the guests who’d so graciously answered and stood present in their big night on such a short notice.

"Congratulations, Mister and Mrs Eleazar," Nikolai bowed gracefully, his silk robe flowing freely with his movements.

While still holding hands, Silas and Arabella bowed before the crowd then turned four times to repeat the action since the stands had been placed in a circular fashion.

They were all there for them to celebrate their joy. The blank faces that had stared back at Arabella only minutes prior when her father threw a fit were no more.

Instead, smiles adorned everyone’s features. Well, except one man who sulked in his seat. The only one who’d stood against her happiness.

Ada and Katherine were side by side, right next to her, beaming as tears welled up in their eyes. Persephone was by Silas’ side as she should. There were no tears in her eyes, no obvious smiles, but the warmth she exuded was loud enough.

In the first row sat all of her friends and the people she had had the pleasure of meeting under that roof.

Among them, sweet and kind Edgar, little Remus, Abigail, Estrid, Madame Arumina and all daytime staff members.

Grace, Allegra and all of the entertainers were there too, of course. Even Mr Kallum had honored their invitation.

As the candles had been enchanted, the fairies that floated above everyone’s heads added the perfect complement to the silver and white lighting in the room.

The sheen they expelled married the radiance that reflected against the snow white, silk ribbon banners suspended high up on the walls all around the hall.

The white rose garlands were clearly preserved with magic to line the hem of every silk drape and curtain.

The spherical rose bouquets she’d participated in creating varied in sizes and decorated the stands much to the guests’ delight.

And as a finishing touch, the icing on the cake, the whole image bounced off of the marble flooring that had seemingly also been enchanted to reflect more light.

It was all so incredible to behold, most wonderful to witness such a vast hall offer the coziness it so naturally managed to provide.

That feeling of having support as for once, she was surrounded by people that stood up for her against her father.

For once, he was the one that sat alone to watch from the distance despite having the choice to celebrate with her.

"Are you alright?" Silas’s voice came soft and hushed, "Your heart is racing to no mark,"

"Yes!" the young woman let out a breath her lungs had been holding in for longer than she’d noticed, "I am very much, more than alright!" the first tears escaped her eyes that night.

"You are safe now," he whispered, "You are mine, Mrs Eleazar," Silas didn’t offer a smile per se, but it was the closest thing to it he could muster in front of the guests.

His hand rose slowly for his warm fingers to wipe at her tears with care.

Mrs Eleazar... Arabella, Henrietta Eleazar...

How odd it sounded to her ears! How new!

"If I may have your attention, please, my dear guests," Lady Persephone’s voice blared, reclaiming the entire hall, "If you please remain on your feet in order for us to transition from a ceremony hall into a reception hall,"

Very quickly after that, all those that had sat back down, stood up in response to her request.

And sure enough, under everyone’s eyes, the stands vanished only to be replaced by round tables.

Except, instead of being posted at the center of the hall like the stands had been, those sublime tables were positioned near the edges of the ballroom thus birthing a large enough dance floor for the party to come.

"You may now pick a table for the rest of the evening, but before the festivity takes its fullest form in, there are a few announcements I’d like to make," Persephone remained in her spot, "First and foremost, I’d like to congratulate my only son, my everything, for finding his second half, love and hopefully lasting happiness and of course," her eyes flickered onto Arabella, "I want to congratulate and welcome my now daughter in law into the family and to kick your new life together off, I have a few gifts here with me,"

Mr Carlton approached the Lady to hand her a small stack of papers.

"Here I hold the deed to this land we stand upon," she lifted and paraded the first sheet from the stack, "It once carried both mine as well as the name of my dear late husband Emeric, may peace find him wherever he is," her voice dimmed momentarily, "But from tonight onwards," her tone rose again, "It carries two new names, those of Lord Silas Eleazar and his now wife, Lady Arabella Eleazar! Congratulations on your new titles," Persephone gave a slight bow with her head in their direction.

With her, the entirety of the hall, excluding Reubon took a similar stance to Persephone before the couple.
