Chapter 322: Chapter 322: Sleeping in Separate Rooms from Him
Her kiss was gentle, with a hint of hesitation.
Adrian Walyon had no reaction, simply staring at her with a cold, aloof gaze.
Summer Sutton had already kissed him, and seeing that he didn’t push her away, she grew bolder.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and, instead, sat on his lap, pulling down his face as she continued to kiss him while reaching up on tiptoe.
Her kiss was forceful, as if determined to elicit a reaction from him, entangling with his mouth before giving his lip a heavy bite.
Summer Sutton was usually more reserved; kissing him made her cheeks flush red, yet the man beside her remained unfazed.
Summer Sutton, feeling defeated, could only withdraw from his embrace.
Sitting obediently back in her chair, she placed some food on his plate, "There’s nothing in the fridge at home, so I went out to buy a lot of ingredients. If you plan to stay here for the next few days, it should be enough."
"Try it, does it taste alright? I’m quite good at this. When I used to live alone, I did everything myself, and that’s how I improved my cooking skills."
"I don’t come here often, you should let your family know when you come so that the servants can come and tidy things up."
She talked to herself a lot, while Adrian Walyon was like air, keeping a cold, handsome face, without saying a word from beginning to end.
Summer Sutton’s hand paused while picking up food, and after a moment of silence, she slowly said, "Last night, I waited for you for a long time."
Adrian Walyon’s eating motion stopped, and he slowly lifted his face, narrowed his eyes, and stared at her.
"The handkerchief means nothing to me, whether you believe it or not is up to you. I have nothing with Jimmy Evans." Summer Sutton lost her appetite for dinner, put down her bowl and chopsticks, and went to the garden.
Adrian Walyon’s gaze followed her departure, watching her back with an unnoticeable expression.
Summer Sutton went to the garden, took a pair of scissors, and started to prune the peach trees.
She was a bit inexperienced at this, yet she trimmed with seriousness.
The chaotic branches gradually took shape under her hands.
After trimming, she picked up a small bucket and started watering the trees one by one.
Her actions were patient, and she tended to the trees with great care.
Adrian Walyon watched her back in the garden for a while, the tension in his facial muscles unconsciously softened a bit.
Summer Sutton didn’t come back inside the house until after ten in the evening.
Adrian Walyon was in the room, undressing, ready to go to the bathroom.
Summer Sutton’s gaze followed his figure, wanting to be as attentive as before, but suddenly she feared being rebuffed.
She pondered for a moment, opened the wardrobe, grabbed a blanket, and made her way quickly to the door, "I’m going to prepare a guest room to sleep!"
She left quickly, indeed going to the guest room, neatly making the bed, ready to sleep there tonight.
Adrian Walyon’s face, which had started to soften a bit, instantly darkened again.
After heading to the guest room, Summer Sutton washed up in the bathroom, taking more than half an hour before returning to her room, curling up in the blanket, quietly preparing for sleep.
Adrian Walyon stood on the bedroom balcony, his gaze wandering numerous times tonight towards her room, looking at the now dimmed room, his expression stiff beyond measure.
He lifted his watch to check the time, eleven-thirty.
There seemed to be no intention from Summer Sutton to return to the room.
Standing on the balcony, staring at the watch for time, Adrian Walyon waited for another half an hour.
