Chapter 124: Chapter 125 What a Surprise (1)

Lou Xi rushed to the bar and saw Rong Zhi lying on the bar counter, drunk.

It wasn’t even business hours for the bar yet; it was still the afternoon, and Rong Zhi was already dead drunk.

It was someone from the bar who used Rong Zhi’s phone to call her. Rong Zhi had two phones, one for work and one personal.

She only knew Rong Zhi’s personal number, and the bar staff had called her using Rong Zhi’s work phone.

"You’re finally here. This guy has already downed three bottles of vodka. If he keeps drinking, he’s going to get alcohol poisoning. You better hurry and take him home!" The bartender said to Lou Xi while polishing glasses for the evening.

"Why did he drink so much?" It seemed Lou Xi wasn’t particularly familiar with Rong Zhi, especially about what he was doing in Nancheng now; she knew even less.

"I chatted with him a bit earlier. Apparently, a business deal fell through, and he lost a lot of money." After saying this, the bartender went to handle other duties.

Lou Xi was taken aback for a moment, then ran over and patted Rong Zhi’s shoulder.

"Brother Rong, wake up, it’s Lou Xi. I’ll take you home."

Looking at Rong Zhi’s drunken face, Lou Xi’s eyebrows furrowed slightly. The Rong Zhi in her memory was an extremely disciplined man who neither drank nor smoked.

This seemed to be the first time Lou Xi had seen Rong Zhi drunk.

He appeared to be in great discomfort, his entire face twisted in pain. Knowing someone had come, he tried hard to open his eyes to look at Lou Xi but ultimately couldn’t.

No time to worry about that now, Lou Xi shouldered Rong Zhi’s arm, letting his whole body lean against her as she tried to take him out of there.

It was the first time Lou Xi realized how heavy a man could be.

Especially a drunk man!

Rong Zhi nearly exerted all his weight on Lou Xi, but fortunately, she exercised regularly, so she wasn’t overwhelmed by Rong Zhi’s weight to the ground.

After a lot of effort, she got out of the bar. Although Rong Zhi had driven there, Lou Xi dared not drive with a drunken man.

She hailed a taxi, but it took a long time; the drivers kept looking at Lou Xi with a drunk person and didn’t want to stop.

After the eighth car drove past, the ninth one finally stopped.

Once inside, the driver sighed and asked, "Where to?"

Truth be told, Lou Xi didn’t even know where Rong Zhi lived.

"Brother Rong, where’s your place?"

Perhaps drunk men all have a magical ability: no matter how drunk they are, they can always find their way home.

When Lou Xi asked him where he lived, Rong Zhi, with his eyes closed, reported his home address.

Throughout the ride, Lou Xi remained vigilant, worried Rong Zhi might suddenly vomit or if he’d feel unwell...

...

At Jia Sheng Group.

Qin Mobai stepped out of the office, ready to give Lou Xi a "surprise."

But, Lou Xi’s desk was empty, though her phone was left on the table.

Su Lin saw Qin Mobai coming out and quickly ran over.

"President, heading home already? Bye!"

Qin Mobai ignored Su Lin’s bootlicking, only asking, "Where’s Lou Xi?"

Su Lin glanced over at Lou Xi’s desk, "Huh, she was just here, where did she go?"

After saying so, he noticed Qin Mobai’s eyebrows slowly furrowing and immediately said, "I’ll go find her for you right away!"
