Chapter 79: Chapter 80: Illness (8)

Lou Xi skipped class again, specially went to the fruit store to buy fruit, not knowing what he liked to eat, but knowing Qin Mobai’s picky nature, Lou Xi bought expensive, imported ones for him.

She didn’t have much money to begin with, and now it was even less.

Coming out of the store after buying fruit, Lou Xi sighed while carrying two bags of fruit worth hundreds.

"Lou Xi, oh Lou Xi, you’re just too much. Previously Young Master Qin was so harsh with you, and now you hear he’s sick and you go visit him! Where’s your standpoint, your dignity? Have they been eaten by dogs?" The more Lou Xi spoke, the more ashamed she felt of her actions, so she turned to walk home.

But after a few steps, she let out a long sigh, "Young Master Qin helped you so much, lent you money, and gave you a place to stay when you were kicked out of school. He’s sick now and you don’t even go see him, Lou Xi, you’re just a thankless wretch."

So, she headed towards the hospital.

After repeating this back and forth several times, Lou Xi finally decided to go to the hospital.

Earlier, the doctor had already told Lou Xi Qin Mobai’s ward, so after looking at the hospital map, she easily found Qin Mobai’s ward.

Executive ward.

Sure enough, when someone as rich as him falls sick, they stay in a ward more luxurious than a hotel suite, while she wouldn’t even dare come to the hospital if she fell ill.

Just as she was about to knock, she heard a conversation inside.

"Mr. Qin, please accept the treatment, although a fever is not a serious illness, if it progresses like this, it could turn into pneumonia, and there could be a risk to your life," the doctor kindly persuaded.

However, there was no response from Qin Mobai.

"If you don’t want the IV, could you at least take some medicine? If something happens to you, how are we supposed to explain that to Mr. Qin?"

Qin Mobai still didn’t respond.

Lou Xi thought to herself, if she were the doctor, encountering such a patient would really drive her crazy; how could there be such a non-cooperative patient?

"Knock knock knock—" Lou Xi knocked on the door.

There was no response from inside, so Lou Xi simply opened the door and went in.

A doctor was just about to open the door for Lou Xi from the inside.

"Hello, I’m a friend of Young Master Qin, I heard he was sick, so I came to see him."

Lou Xi’s gaze passed over the doctor to the man on the hospital bed.

Even though the man was ill, he exuded an aura of aloofness that kept strangers away, and his handsome appearance wasn’t diminished by his sickness.

Lou Xi’s heart skipped a beat, it had only been a few days since they last met, and that day after class they parted on bad terms, and now she proactively came to see him— which meant she was admitting she was wrong before.

How... awkward.

"Oh, you’re a friend of Young Master Qin, hurry and see him then, sigh..." The doctor sighed helplessly before leaving the ward.

Hearing the door close behind her, Lou Xi was just about to take a step forward when she heard Qin Mobai say, "Who allowed you to come?"

Qin Mobai’s voice was so cold that it made the room feel several degrees colder.

The courage she had just mustered was instantly extinguished.

"...Then I’ll just leave the fruit here and go..." Lou Xi placed the fruit on the cabinet near the door, seeming ready to turn and leave at any moment.

The man on the bed slightly furrowed his brow, looking very serious.

Lou Xi glanced at the man; he seemed very unwelcome by her visit, so she thought it would be better not to get in his way, or else his condition might worsen.

With a downcast face, she turned to leave.

"...Water."

As Lou Xi’s hand touched the doorknob, she heard Qin Mobai’s voice behind her.
