Chapter 432: 432 is rude
Qu Fengting also stood up at this point, staring at Ye Yanran, his arrogance evident.
His strength was much greater than that of Mu Feng, and his mind was much more meticulous. As soon as he saw Ye Yanran, some impressions flashed in his mind, and he guessed that Mu Hanyan would not trouble a servant without reason.
Hearing Qu Fengting’s words, the young swordsmen, who had been in disarray, now had a sharp look in their eyes. A slight "clang" was heard as someone slightly drew their longsword.
A hint of panic flashed across Ye Yanran’s eyes but being tightly held by Mu Hanyan, she was unable to free herself.
Ye Yanran’s eyes swiftly darted around, and suddenly she shrieked loudly, "Indecency! Help, indecency!"
Hearing Ye Yanran’s shriek, the smile on Mu Hanyan’s face grew even thicker, while the looks from the others turned peculiar.
The cries of Ye Yanran abruptly ceased, as she suddenly realized something was off—she was disguised as a male servant, so Mu Hanyan wouldn’t possibly commit an act of indecency against her.
"Alright, you’ve got me this time. I concede," Ye Yanran suddenly said with a mischievous smile. Twisting her arm backward, there was a light "crack" as if her arm had disconnected at the elbow, and like a boneless fish, it slipped from Mu Hanyan’s grasp. Then, with a tip of her toes, she leapt up and gently landed in front of the window.
"What strange techniques," Mu Hanyan murmured, astonished by her bizarre method of escape despite his full preparedness.
"Don’t let her escape. Catch her!" None of these young swordsmen in the restaurant were fools. Seeing what happened, how could they still have any doubts? They swarmed up, chasing her; some of the more cautious even turned around and rushed to the gate, aiming to catch her outside.
"Forget it, I’ll give these back to you. Be more careful when you’re out next time; not every time you will have such good luck," Ye Yanran said lightly as she flicked her arm, which seemed restored. She then waved her hand gently, scattering a pile of tokens like a goddess dispersing flowers.
Seeing the tokens, the crowd could hardly be bothered with looking for her; they scrambled after the tokens instead.
"Mu Hanyan, you’ve interfered twice in a row now. I remember you. You’d better be more careful," Ye Yanran said with an easy smile, and then she floated out of the window.
"What does she mean by that?" Mu Cheng asked.
"Probably that, instead of stealing from others, she now has her sights set on me," Mu Hanyan replied, touching his chin.
It’s not the theft that’s worrying, but the thief’s obsession. Being targeted by such a female thief didn’t seem like a good thing—it looked like they’d have to be more alert from now on.
"Everyone stop the chaos. Take your own token and leave others’ behind. If anyone dares to fish in troubled waters, don’t blame me, Qu Fengting, for being rude." The restaurant was a mess as some clashed over the tokens. Qu Fengting frowned, stood tall, and shouted loud.
The name of Young Master Qu was significant, and at his words, those fighting quieted down. Although the tokens appeared identical, each was engraved with a name on its reverse. If no one scrambled wildly, finding their own wasn’t difficult. Soon, those who had been robbed found their respective tokens, not one less.
"It’s lucky that Young Master Qu took charge. Otherwise, who knows into what chaos their mad rush might have devolved," a young swordsman, who had found his token, said obsequiously.
