Chapter 1672: Chapter 1672: Unexpected News
After receiving the message from Yang Xiaodong, Luo Ziling felt a sense of satisfaction.
He didn’t ask Yang Xiaodong how they dealt with those people, as he trusted that they would find a suitable solution.
Yang Qingyin and Luo Yuqing went in to shower and hadn’t come out yet, and Luo Ziling didn’t disturb them.
But after receiving the news, Luo Ziling planned to say hello and remind them to rest early since they would visit the Xu Family together the next day.
Unexpectedly, when he went to knock on the door, the two women said they were already asleep and asked him not to disturb them.
Seeing that it was already 1 AM local time, Luo Ziling could only wish them goodnight and return to his room.
However, he didn’t go to sleep immediately and waited for Yang Xiaodong or Wang Zhenjun to report the situation.
About half an hour later, there was a knock on Luo Ziling’s room door, and he got up to open it.
Standing at the door were Yang Xiaodong and Wang Zhenjun.
After welcoming them into the room, Luo Ziling asked directly, “What’s the situation exactly?”
“We’ve captured three Sankou Group members, eliminated four, and one escaped,” Yang Xiaodong calmly reported, “The one who escaped is seriously injured; we let him return on purpose.”
Luo Ziling was a bit surprised, “Are you trying to completely provoke the Sankou Group?”
Yang Xiaodong did not deny it, “This is the intention of the Dragon Rise members.”
During the action, they learned Dragon Rise’s latest intentions, hence the change in their plans.
“Alright,” Luo Ziling nodded and did not ask further.
“Dragon Rise still has operations in Japan; if nothing goes wrong, the Sankou Group is bound to suffer heavy losses,” Yang Xiaodong hesitated for a moment but still told Luo Ziling some details, “The Sankou Group is heading toward their demise; they already provoked Dragon Rise and dared to provoke you again.”
After hearing Yang Xiaodong’s words, Luo Ziling could roughly guess some things.
To find out the specific situation, he needed to ask Lin Lan, as Yang Xiaodong probably didn’t know much.
But he didn’t know whether Lin Lan would tell him anything.
Luo Ziling did not ask Yang Xiaodong or Wang Zhenjun for specific details but merely instructed them to be cautious and ensure no mistakes occurred.
Luo Ziling couldn’t imagine that the trip with the delegation would become increasingly complex. If he had known the Sankou Group from Japan planned to hunt him down, he wouldn’t have allowed Yang Qingyin and Luo Yuqing to come to Hanseong under any circumstances.
Luo Ziling did not ask Yang Xiaodong and Wang Zhenjun many questions, understanding that they might not know much, and some matters couldn’t be disclosed. Luo Ziling believed there were secret agreements between them and Dragon Rise, but these agreements couldn’t be revealed, not even to him. This was something only Phoenix or Lin Lan could inform him of.
Luo Ziling was waiting for Lin Lan, confident that she would come to him, if not tonight, then tomorrow.
Luo Ziling’s expectations turned out to be correct, as Lin Lan came to see him near dawn.
Lin Lan entered through the window, though it was unclear which room she came from; she definitely didn’t come through the main entrance.
When Luo Ziling was awoken, Lin Lan had already landed in the room.
“Huh, turns out a female flower thief has arrived,” seeing it was Lin Lan, Luo Ziling sat up, humorously inviting her to sit by the bed, “I thought you would come while I was awake, didn’t expect you to come so late, made me unable to sleep soundly all night.”
When he fell asleep, Luo Ziling wasn’t sleeping well, always feeling Lin Lan would come, but eventually, he felt Lin Lan wouldn’t come and finally slept deeply. Without any mental burden, he slept soundly and didn’t notice when Lin Lan sneaked in.
He was really tired.
Lin Lan didn’t behave in the manner Luo Ziling expected of jumping on him but sat beside him and seriously began discussing things.
Seeing Lin Lan’s serious expression without any affection, Luo Ziling breathed a sigh of relief.
He was really afraid that Lin Lan might force herself on him, with Yang Qingyin next door; that would be embarrassing for him.
“The scale of the Japanese side’s operation this time is bigger than we expected,” Lin Lan said in a serious tone after Luo Ziling turned on the light, lowering her voice, “They didn’t just send one team; there are several teams. Today, the group we dealt with is just one action team; there are still two more similar teams.”
“What?” Another two teams targeting him made Luo Ziling almost jump out of bed; he thought tonight’s resolution of those Japanese would mean no more troubles, not expecting two more groups.
Doesn’t that mean he’ll spend the next few days in fear?
“Don’t worry,” seeing Luo Ziling’s face change, Lin Lan couldn’t help but laugh, “Tonight, most of them have already been dealt with. The remaining personnel should be hiding or have fled back to Japan. Believe me, they now know how difficult the target they intended to deal with is.”
“Really?” Luo Ziling couldn’t help but widen his eyes, “You managed to eliminate all those Japanese?”
“Otherwise, how else could I have come to see you now?” Lin Lan displayed a bit of playfulness; she enjoyed seeing Luo Ziling’s emotional display in her presence.
This operation was under her command, and it went extremely smoothly, giving her a great sense of accomplishment. Luo Ziling didn’t anticipate such results, so hearing her talk surprised him. Her slight pride and feelings of accomplishment surged within, making her feel happy despite being very tired after several consecutive hours of high-intensity action.
“Were you hurt? Did you face any trouble?” Luo Ziling looked Lin Lan up and down in her black outfit, asking with concern, “Will there be any follow-up issues?”
“Let me tell you a secret,” Lin Lan thought for a moment, then disclosed some facts she deemed acceptable to share with Luo Ziling, “The purpose of our action this time is to heavily damage the Sankou Group because they previously engaged in activities harming our country’s interests and also had direct conflicts with our Dragon Rise. Plus, they planned to target you, so we acted ruthlessly.”
Though Lin Lan’s explanation remained somewhat vague, Luo Ziling could roughly grasp the situation, prompting his curiosity to ask, “Did Phoenix personally oversee operations in Japan aiming to destroy the Sankou Group?”
“Destruction isn’t the aim, more like exploiting their recent internal strife to incite internal chaos,” Lin Lan hinted with a touch of cruelty, unaware of Phoenix’s exact deeds, thereby incapable of assessing Phoenix’s actions, “I believe the team commanders have already succeeded, marking the end of the Sankou Group’s decades-long glory.”
After pondering, Luo Ziling further inquired, “Was the Ishihara Family involved in this matter?”
“Members of the Sankou Group attempted to persuade them to join, but Ishihara Tarou declined!”
“Oh?!” Luo Ziling appeared puzzled, “Why?”
