Chapter 294: Chapter 294: Relaxing
Princess Shouning, disguised as a little eunuch, glared at Su Jin.
Because Su Jin’s step truly hurt her; if not for concern over her eunuch identity, she would have had someone drag her away for twenty heavy blows.
But why did this man look more and more familiar?
Before Princess Shouning could figure it out, Su Jin had already reached out and pulled her aside.
Princess Shouning blushed, trying to forcefully shake off Su Jin in anger and embarrassment, "How dare you!"
"Let go of me... Let go of this eunuch!" Princess Shouning yelled.
Su Jin let go of her hand and said, "Alright, I’m a man, you’re a eunuch, what’s there to blush about?"
Princess Shouning glared at her, "You stepped on my foot and didn’t even apologize!"
Su Jin looked at her and asked, "Princess, did you bring money with you when you sneaked out of the palace?"
Princess Shouning’s expression changed.
"How do you know I’m a princess?!" she whispered, questioning.
"Who are you?!" Her eyes were filled with wariness.
Su Jin held her forehead, "We agreed that you’d recognize me even in ashes, but you can’t recognize me just because I’ve switched to men’s clothes?"
A hint of faint heartache flashed on her face.
Xingxing, "...."
Princess Shouning, "...."
There was only one person Princess Shouning would recognize even if turned to ashes.
And that was the Eldest Young Madam of Duke Zhen’s Mansion!
Looking at Su Jin again, that seven parts familiar face, Princess Shouning became infuriated.
"It’s you!" Princess Shouning gritted her teeth.
"Finally recognized," Su Jin smiled.
She extended her hand, "Give me half of the money you have on you."
Xingxing, "...."
Didn’t they agree not to rob?
Princess Shouning almost exploded in rage.
She managed to sneak out of the palace for fun, only to run into the most annoying person who wanted to rob her?!
"Do you want to die, daring to even think of robbing this princess!" Princess Shouning’s fists clenched tight.
Su Jin curled her lips into a smile, "What do you think would happen if I shouted right now that you’re Princess Shouning?"
Princess Shouning’s eyes were filled with fury.
She pointed at Su Jin, "Aren’t you also dressed as a man?!"
Su Jin snickered.
"I’m a female bandit. Even if I dressed as a beggar, no one would be surprised."
"But you’re a noble princess. Didn’t the Emperor punish you to copy the palace rules? I assume you haven’t finished copying them yet?"
"To so openly ignore the Emperor’s words, wouldn’t he be angry if he found out?" Su Jin retorted.
Princess Shouning was so angry she wished she could have Su Jin dragged away and beaten to death.
The little palace maid was scared and said, "Princess, let’s just give her the money."
Princess Shouning huffed and puffed in anger.
"Give it to her!" The words squeezed through her teeth.
The palace maid hurriedly took out the silver note from her bosom.
You have to admit, Princess Shouning was wealthy, carrying a 5,000 tael silver note when sneaking out to shop.
She gave 3,000 taels to Su Jin.
Mhm.
There were no small silver notes scattered, and the palace maid, fearing Xingxing, handed most of it to Su Jin.
Having sneaked out of the palace, she could only let herself be at the mercy of others.
The palace maid felt heartache.
Princess Shouning was punished to copy the palace rules by the Emperor because of the master-servant pair.
The princess was almost driven crazy being cooped up, which is why she thought of sneaking out for some air...
Carefully making her way outside without being noticed.
And then!
Not long after she got out, she fell into their hands!
Xingxing happily put away the silver note.
Princess Shouning glared at Su Jin and said through gritted teeth, "If you dare leak this, I won’t forgive you!"
Su Jin pointed with her hand, "I’m going that way, you go to the other side."
Princess Shouning glared and said, "Why? I want to go that way!"
After speaking, she stepped forward and left.
Su Jin’s mouth twitched.
Such a silly princess.
She walked down the steps and continued shopping.
After a few steps, Princess Shouning realized that Su Jin had originally been going that way!
She had already shopped over here!
She wanted to turn back but couldn’t swallow her pride. More importantly, she was dressed as a eunuch and Su Jin as a young master.
The difference in status was immediately evident.
Looking displeasedly at the eunuch clothes on her, she, a dignified princess, couldn’t continue enduring sympathetic looks from others.
Seeing clothing being sold over there, she walked in.
When she reappeared, she was a dashing young lord.
After strolling half a street, when Xingxing was paying, the Hidden Guard caught up.
Seeing the stack of silver notes in Xingxing’s hand, the Hidden Guard frowned, "Didn’t you run out of money?"
"We just robbed someone," Xingxing excitedly said.
After speaking, she glared at the Hidden Guard, "If we waited for you to bring money, my master and I would have starved to death."
Hidden Guard, "...."
Holding a bunch of stuff delayed Xingxing from enjoying her food.
She handed it all to the Hidden Guard, "You take these to the carriage."
The Hidden Guard was flustered.
He was a Hidden Guard, meant to protect the Eldest Young Madam, how did he end up being a delivery boy?
However, seeing the speed at which the Eldest Young Madam earned money, it seemed anyone in danger was probably others. He wondered who the unlucky person was who got robbed while he was away fetching money.
The Hidden Guard carried a pile of stuff toward the carriage.
Su Jin and Xingxing continued forward.
As they passed a pharmacy, a little girl was pushed out.
The little girl staggered a few steps and bumped into Su Jin.
Su Jin quickly supported her, Xingxing glared at the guy who pushed her and said, "If you have something to say, say it properly, why push her!"
"She’s affecting our pharmacy’s business. If we don’t push her out, should we let her stay inside?!" the guy angrily said.
The little girl cried, "Please, doctor, save my second brother."
"Go, go!"
"We are a pharmacy, not a Charitable Hall!" the guy shouted.
After saying that, the guy couldn’t be bothered and turned back into the shop.
The little girl wasn’t very old, around seven or eight, crying so hard that she could barely catch her breath.
Seeing this, Su Jin felt sorry. The child was too thin, with sallow skin and yellow, dry hair, evidently malnourished.
"What’s wrong with your second brother?" Su Jin asked.
"My second brother was beaten, and he vomited a lot of blood," the little girl cried.
Su Jin thought for a moment and said, "Let’s go, I’ll help you save your second brother."
"Are you a doctor?" the little girl asked.
Su Jin nodded.
The little girl quickly wiped away her tears and led Su Jin away.
When the Hidden Guard returned after putting things away, he searched the entire street but couldn’t find Su Jin and Xingxing.
Su Jin followed the little girl to a small courtyard.
The yard was wrecked.
Hearing coughing, the little girl ran inside to see a young man slipping off the bed.
With each cough, the young man’s body trembled, blood dripping from his mouth to the floor, looking heartbreaking.
"Second brother!" The little girl was anxious and distraught.
But she was too small to support the young man.
Xingxing placed the pastries she was holding on the table and went over to help him.
The young man was about fifteen years old, like the little girl, emaciated, with a sallow face, black and blue bruises, and blood at the corner of his mouth.
Su Jin recalled the little girl saying her second brother was beaten by someone.
"Who hit him so hard?" Su Jin asked.
The little girl cried, "I don’t know who, they came to our house before, today they came again. My second brother ignored them, then they went crazy, wrecked our house, and beat my second brother."
