Chapter 337 - 336: A Fortuitous Event

Chapter 337: Chapter 336: A Fortuitous Event

I couldn’t help but think to myself, I should definitely keep my mouth shut in the future.

The next day, Lin Wan went to the textile street again to see if Yu Qianqian had received any stock.

Who would have thought that Hu Lijuan came early in the morning?

"Oh... Are you on break?"

"Yeah. I’ve been back for two days, helping Xiao Dung sell things, just got some free time. Where are you heading, Saozi?"

"I need to go to Cotton Street. Want to come along?"

"Sure, OK."

On the way, Lin Wan asked Hu Lijuan about her situation at school.

"Everything’s going well; I get along with everyone in the dormitory."

"That’s good to hear."

"What are you planning to buy over there, Saozi?"

"I’m planning to knit scarves to sell, also making some hats and gloves. I’m heading there to get some yarn."

"Is there yarn for sale there?"

"Yes, a new personal store opened."

"Is knitting scarves troublesome, Saozi? I’ve nothing to do at home these days; let me help you knit. I can practice what you taught before the semester starts."

"It’s really simple, if you want to knit, I’ll show you the sample later. Just follow it. A dollar for each scarf fee."

"I don’t want your money, Saozi."

"If you don’t take the money, I won’t let you knit," Lin Wan laughed.

"Saozi..."

Yu Qianqian had been anxiously waiting for Lin Wan these two days; the stock had arrived the day before yesterday. She hadn’t seen Lin Wan yet and was worried there might be a change, but then she remembered the hundred dollars Lin Wan had left as a deposit, so it’s unlikely she’ll vanish like that.

"Sister Lin, you’re finally here; the stock arrived two days ago."

"I’ve been occupied these past two days and couldn’t come."

Yu Qianqian quickly went to the back to bring out the stock. Lin Wan checked it, found no issues, and was ready to load it onto the truck.

Hu Lijuan, beside her, suddenly called out, "Yu Qianqian?"

"...Hu Lijuan?" she was too busy moving the stock and hadn’t noticed the person next to Sister Lin.

Lin Wan was surprised, "You know each other?"

"My classmate."

"We’re classmates."

Both spoke simultaneously, but instead of being awkward, they smiled at each other.

"What a coincidence."

"Yeah, I’ve heard you got into college?"

"Yes."

"I’m really envious of you; my studies aren’t great, didn’t get in, and my family doesn’t have connections to arrange work for me, so they opened a small shop for me."

"Running your own business can be quite profitable; your parents must be really supportive to let you open a shop this young. They must have a solid background."

"Doesn’t earn much really; if it weren’t for Sister Lin’s order, I couldn’t even pay rent this month. By the way, are you two...?"

"This is my Sister-in-law. We’re all one family. Remember to give my Sister-in-law discounts when she comes in the future."

"Sister Lin, I always give the best price," Yu Qianqian smiled.

Lin Wan didn’t expect such a coincidence; the little shop owner was a classmate of Hu Lijuan.

Now that they had this connection, the little shop owner even gifted her knitting needles of various sizes as she left.

The goods were sent out, the money received, and she found out the sister-in-law of her classmate is involved too. Yu Qianqian felt relieved.

She roughly calculated, and it turns out she earned a few hundred this time, which equated to several months’ salary of a regular worker.

Business had been good recently, with many scattered customers.

Seems like opening this shop was the right decision.

After returning home, Hu Lijuan and Lin Wan grabbed a pair of knitting needles, took around ten kilos of yarn, and secretly took Lin Wan’s cut and sewn gloves and hats home.

They had a sewing machine at home. Mom could help Saozi sew a few after work at night.

After sending off Hu Lijuan, Lin Wan tidied her things and rode the tricycle to the shop.

"Mom, has Brother Huang arrived?"

"He came and I told him. He said he’d come over after delivering the goods to pick you up."

"Oh," Lin Wan was relieved and looked around the shop. She didn’t see her brother’s shadow, "Where’s my brother?"

"He went mountain climbing with Brother Congnan and some classmates."

"Oh."

"By the way, Xiao Huang delivered dog skins, total of thirty sheets. He said he’d bring the rest within four or five days."

Lin Wan checked the skins; they were high quality and well-tanned.
