Chapter 1235 You Will Never Become a True God

Suddenly, Laufey and Loki both realized something.

Laufey's frost power entered Loki's body, but instead of turning into an ice sculpture, the latter absorbed all of it.

From Laufey's perspective, he clearly saw Loki's complexion turn a pale blue, the same icy hue as his own skin.

Laufey was stunned, not understanding what was happening.

This was clearly the color of their Frost Giant race; only giants could absorb such frost power.

"Odin, what is going on?!"

The bewildered Laufey could only turn to Odin for answers, as he was the one who knew his own son best.

Odin, covered in scars, was breathing heavily, leaning on the Gungnir during a brief respite.

The older the Asgardian gods became, the stronger they were in battle, but he was indeed old, and his stamina was failing.

Odin looked at Loki with immense tenderness but still answered,

"Laufey, do you remember our first great war, when I invaded your realm?

That day, I brought back a child, and you lost a son."

"You... you mean... he is my son?"

Laufey looked at Loki in his hands with shock.

Loki, as if struck by lightning, looked at Odin in disbelief,

"Father... God..."

"I am sorry, child. The situation was too chaotic back then. On the battlefield, as a child, you could have been easily killed. Your kingdom was in disarray, so I brought you back to raise you.

For years, I have treated you as my own son. I know you desire the throne, and you want to prove yourself stronger than Thor, but...

The blood flowing through you is not of Asgard; you cannot be recognized by the Gungnir, and thus, you cannot be king."

Odin explained with a serious expression, his eyes full of apology.

Laufey felt a mix of shock and joy, but mostly anger.

He involuntarily loosened his grip, and Loki fell powerlessly to the ground.

"Odin!!!"

All his emotions turned into hatred for Odin, and Laufey raised his fist, attacking Odin fiercely.

Loki crashed heavily onto the ground. He was in pain, his entire body feeling as if it had fallen apart, but the turmoil and suffering in his heart made him ignore the physical pain.

For thousands of years, his father had been deceiving him.

He thought he was the son of his father and mother, but unexpectedly, he was the son of his enemy.

He had participated in the wars against the Frost Giants in those years; had he been killing his own kin all along?

Loki's eyes were filled with hatred; he hated his father for deceiving him.

He looked up and saw the Casket of Ancient Winters on the ground not far away.

He struggled to his feet and ran quickly to pick it up. The frost power surged into his body instantly.

Loki immediately understood that he could control the Casket of Ancient Winters.

He stood up, looked up at the sky, and was about to attack Odin with the sacred artifact of the Frost Giants.

But just as he was about to strike, he hesitated.

In his mind, he recalled his childhood, when his young father played with him and his brother.

He taught him culture, history, combat, and the principles of life.

It could be said that except for the matter of the throne, his father had always favored him and Thor. During every battle, he would send himself to less dangerous locations, letting Thor charge into the most perilous areas.

As for the throne, he now understood; it wasn't that his father withheld it, but that he lacked the bloodline and could not inherit it.

Thinking of this, a tear rolled down Loki's cheek. He then aimed the Casket of Ancient Winters at Laufey.

The debt of upbringing was greater than the debt of birth. He was an Asgardian god, not that dirty, ugly Frost Giant!

Boom!!!

A blast of frost power suddenly struck Laufey.

Laufey, who was locked in a fierce battle with Odin, was ambushed by Loki for the second time.

Laufey could not tolerate this insult, especially when the one ambushing him was his own son.

Caught off guard, Laufey was stabbed by Odin's spear. He kicked Odin away, turned, and flew towards Loki below.

Loki frantically unleashed his frost power to attack Laufey, but the gap in their strength was too vast. Laufey endured Loki's attacks, and despite being wounded all over, he successfully reached Loki.

Laufey reached out again and grabbed Loki by the neck.

"Son."

Laufey stared intently at Loki's contorted face, which was turning blue from suffocation, his eyes filled with both hatred and reluctance.

"If you call me Father, I will forgive your transgressions and allow you to conquer Asgard with me. I will make you the King of Asgard."

"I... am... the son of Odin, the God of Mischief, Loki!"

Loki spoke with difficulty, but his tone was extremely firm.

"What kind of gods are the gods of Asgard? After destroying Asgard, I will become the most powerful god in this universe!"

Laufey roared.

"You... will never become... a true god!"

Loki's words enraged Laufey. He wanted to strangle Loki with his own hands, but he couldn't bring himself to kill his only son.

Suddenly, Loki saw a spatial black hole appear abruptly in the sky in the distance.

Countless spacecraft flew out from the black hole. The leading powerful ship, as soon as it appeared, unleashed heavy artillery fire on the demons and giants below.

Reinforcements had arrived!

Loki was overjoyed.

Next, he saw a dozen figures fly out of the first spaceship and head towards the powerhouses in various locations.

A colossal dragon appeared in the sky, exuding an awe-inspiring aura, and charged towards the fire giant Surtr.

Loki's eyes were filled with shock.

He saw two figures clad in armor flying towards him at a speed that was almost invisible to the naked eye.

The figure in the sky-blue armor leading the way kicked Laufey. Laufey and Loki flew out together, crashing to the ground. Laufey released his grip on Loki and rolled away.

Loki spat out a mouthful of blood and quickly picked up the Casket of Ancient Winters. He saw the figure of the woman in the sky-blue armor charge towards Laufey with a long sword.

The figure in the sky-blue armor walked up to him.

"Thank you..."

Loki said, thanking them as he sat up from the ground. The armored figure, however, kicked him to the ground again.

Loki was greatly alarmed, not understanding why the other party was attacking him.

Wan Lei's foot landed on Loki's chest, and the Mjolnir in his hand pointed towards the opponent's head. The eyes beneath the helmet were filled with icy coldness.

Loki was unable to move. Seeing the lightning-wreathed hammer about to strike him, the "clever" Loki immediately understood what was happening.

He quickly dropped the Casket of Ancient Winters in his hand and raised both palms upwards.
