Chapter 100: Blind Date 2.0

Chapter 100: Chapter 100: Blind Date 2.0

Alex feeling the danger was just about to find an excuse to slip away, but Professor Shagufta saw through his little thoughts.

She waved her hand with a careless sigh.

"Don’t worry, I know I’m not one of your types.

I was just teasing you earlier, Come on can’t a girl have some fun?

By the way, I really do have something good to tell you."

Without waiting for his reply, she took hold of his hand and took him toward a table near the corner of the restaurant.

"Come, sit here first and then, we will talk while we eat."

Alex sat down helplessly, though his guard still up. "What good news?"

I don’t know what what the hell is she plotting, while I know that she wouldn’t mean anything bad as I knew her character, but still... I am having a feeling that today is going to be a another hectic day for me.

She chuckled at his question first, than said. "Hehe, seeing how you are still had a time to stroll the restaurant alone, I can assume that you are still single am I right? No?

Alex just continues to stare at her unable to understand what she might be trying to say.

"Seeing how you are not responding I can presume that you’re single so...

Surprise of course it’s a blind date for you, Silly."

"And a good one at that, How? Aren’t you Happy with it?"

Blind date.....

A good one...

I knew it...

Oh god! Let it go smoothly already.

If he had known about it that fate might have arranged another blind date for him today than he might have not come to this restaurant.

All could Alex can do now is to complain about his sudden whim today, about why he was feeling nostalgic today isn’t good to stay at home and enjoy TV? Why?

She raised her hand and pointed toward the restroom. "There is my close friend that has recently came from abroad, she will be coming shortly from the restroom wait for her a bit, her name is Catherine by the way."

A moment later, a young woman in a white shirt and a plain pencil skirt came out, wiping her hands from the restroom.

Miss Shagufta continued to introduce cheerfully, "She’s an old friend of mine, she is very capable in every way you can think of Alex, very reliable in managing the life style, and most importantly still single for you.

You two should at least get to know each other and don’t refuse it outright, in my opinion this will be a very good match."

Alex’s brow twitched at that.

He really didn’t want to be dragged into blind dates anymore.

The last one the that the Mrs. Lata, his landlady, have arranged had already flipped his view on blind dates upside down at that time.

He has no trust in blind dates anymore.

But the professor was the type of woman who always acted carefree and straightforward and will not listen to him if he didn’t give her a solid reason.

So before he knew it, she had already pulled Catherine over and started introductions between them.

"Catherine this is Alex.

Back in our university days, he was the campus heartthrob of everyone you know. Plenty of girls had secret crushes on him at that time."

"But he used to refuse them all the time, also he is very focused for his career, if I had not known for him better I would have thought he might be swinging that way!"

"And Alex this is Catherine as I have already told you.

She has just returned from studying overseas she has earned a master’s degree abroad, no less praiseworthy than your accomplishments, Alex."

Catherine smiled politely at him.

In terms of looks, she was about on par with Miss Shagufta.

Sixty to seventy points out of a hundred if someone have to compare she is not too stunning, but decent enough for the get go.

Catherine’s eyes seem to brightened up when she saw Alex, and she leaned forward with keen interest in him.

"Hi, Alex, What do you usually like to enjoy doing in your free time?"

Alex replied honestly,

"Listening to music, sometimes gaming when I’m bored."

"Oh Gaming? Are you by any chance play golf too?"

"Not really. Haven’t tried in reality but have seen a lot in movies."

Her smile seem to diminished a little but she still held it, and she quickly shifted the topic to another.

"Than surely your lifestyle must be quite busy, right? Always out with clients and meetings?"

Alex shook his head casually not knowing why is she asking questions in a roundabout way.

"Not really. I prefer to keep things simple in daily life, no meetings or clients to spoke of."

She looked confused, then asked again,

"What about your car situation? It must be a hassle to park in the city it must cost very high for a parking, isn’t it?"

"No need of any parking."

I have a Villa and a parking space came with that, no need to spend on another parking space.

He kept his answers short, but in his heart, he was already puzzled.

Why is she asking about all this personal details so quickly? Is she a reporter or something after all we have just met...

And similarly, Catherine continued to fire questions one by one all of them asking directly or indirectly about his background.

As the questions continued to be answered from Alex mouth bit by bit Catherine eagerness began to cool down considerably.

The lively, enthusiastic returnee from foreign country soon changed completely as if she had changed her gender in a blink of an eye.

Change was gradual from "sparkling curiosity" to "bare minimum courtesy."

From "leaning closer" to "sitting back with folded arms" without giving any time to react.

Alex blinked at the sudden change in her personality, caught completely off guard.

"???"

What’s going on here? Did I miss on something?
