Chapter 90: Chapter 90: Did She Awaken Ability At All?
The next moment, she froze. She tilted her head in bewilderment.
She hadn’t told him she was trying to absorb the crystal core given by Isryn, right?
In the small hill of crystal cores given by Cassias yesterday, she actually found a few spatial attribute crystal cores after digging for a while. She secretly pocketed the crystal cores and tried to absorb them for the entire night with no avail.
Even crystal cores with lesser levels didn’t work on her.
Annoyed, she had turned into a fox briefly, scaring herself. Isryn was looking at the house owner’s small library and thankfully hadn’t seen her abrupt transformation.
In her fox form, she couldn’t resist eating the crystal cores, and after it was all gone when she was in her fox form, only then did she change to her human form again.
That was how she had taken revenge on the spatial attribute crystal cores for making her so frustrated!
"Wait, how do you know I was trying to absorb the crystal core?" Zerra tried to hide the rising alarm in her chest, looking at him with a casual gaze.
Cassias raised his eyebrows. "Isryn told me. And now, looking at those panda eyes of yours..." he clicked his tongue.
She subconsciously touched her eyelids and couldn’t help but sigh. "Is it that obvious?"
She was too anxious to level up and unlock more areas in her space.
"Obviously still looking good even if you have panda eyes." Cassias smiled, as if he hadn’t just thrown a compliment to a cannon fodder he supposedly hated.
Zerra widened her eyes and looked away, pretending she hadn’t heard that. She even busied herself with her small bag, taking out the translucent crystal core and staring at it fiercely as if it were her enemy.
Cassias’ eyes were filled with mirth and amusement upon seeing her appearance. His attention turned to the crystal core in her hands, and his face turned serious.
Zerra glanced at the window, searching for the Ashborn siblings. Why did they take so long?
"Is there something wrong with the crystal core?" She frowned when she noticed Cassias’ gaze.
"Usually, people cannot absorb other crystal cores because the attributes do not suit the power they awakened..." Cassias looked like he was deep in thought. "Or this one might be too strong for you."
When Zerra heard the first possibility, she was taken aback. She scratched the back of her head in wonder. Maybe it was like that? She didn’t awaken her space ability...
This idea was too shocking for her. But then she thought again. Technically, she indeed didn’t awaken it. After all, it was the space that came with her the moment she awakened as Zerra in this world.
The inner space had been with her since she was in the celestial realm.
If the truth was like this, it meant that she had never awakened any ability at all! She wasn’t an ability user...
"Sorry for making you wait for a while." Isryn opened the car door, snapping Zerra out of her daze. "There was some trouble back there."
"What trouble? Is it solved now?" Zerra quickly adjusted her emotions. Whether she awakened her ability or not didn’t matter anyway; she still had her space!
"Yes, some plants mutated. There were also zombies coming into the backyard. It surprised Meira so much that she fainted," Isryn explained.
"Where is she now?"
Eryx pointed to the front yard. "They are there. Laziel promised to accompany her, and Meira requested to drive in the same car as Darren."
After Eryx said that, they saw Nyra with two other members heading toward them. She walked over quickly and arrived in no time.
"I will take a ride with you guys," she muttered, and without waiting for any response, she climbed inside the car.
Not long after, Darren also came over. He looked over to the inside of their car. His tone was a little strange. "Nyra is here?"
"I am here," Nyra answered in a casual tone, looking at Darren with calm eyes.
Zerra subconsciously took candy from her space. There was another drama, and she couldn’t enjoy it without a snack! After she felt the sweetness on her tongue, someone tapped her shoulder.
She blinked at Cassias. As if understanding what he meant, she handed him another candy into his hand. He unwrapped it and put it in his mouth with familiarity.
Then, they both stared at Darren and Nyra.
Isryn, who happened to witness the sight, twitched her mouth.
"You are going to ride with them? Your things are still in my car. What if you need anything?" Darren began to fuss, his lips pressed into a thin line in displeasure.
"What things would I need?" Nyra blinked, tilting her head.
Darren thought about it for a while. "Your clothes, and..." he trailed off. "Anyway, why did you suddenly want to ride with them?"
Although fussing over such a trivial matter might destroy his image as a stern leader, he didn’t seem to care. All the members more or less had subtly known that he liked Nyra.
"I just want a change of environment," Nyra told him. "You don’t need to worry so much. If I need anything, there’s my younger sister with her space–"
Her voice was cut off by sudden crunching sounds. They simultaneously turned to Zerra, who couldn’t resist taking out popcorn from her space.
A flicker of embarrassment crossed her face. She had wanted to eat it quietly, but...
She swallowed, and her mind was quick-witted to respond. She held the popcorn in her hand. "Sorry for interrupting your discussion. I am hungry... but if you want, you can take some too."
Cassias, surprisingly, was very cooperative. The moment Zerra offered, he took a handful of the popcorn. She gave him a look of approval.
The male lead was getting less annoying...
Isryn chuckled in an attempt to ease the situation, and she grabbed some too. Eryx followed what his sister was doing, trying to hide his embarrassed smile.
Zerra shook the package and asked Eryx to hand it over to the members in the third row of seats. They also took the popcorn quietly while thanking Zerra.
When it was Nyra’s turn, she also took the popcorn into her hands. "Look, she has everything I need. Don’t worry about it."
"Let’s just go quickly so that we can arrive at the Capital soon," She didn’t forget to add.
Zerra looked at the frustrated Darren, and subconsciously held out the popcorn package that now has returned to her hands. She flashed him an encouraging smile. "Do you want some?"
