Chapter 78: 78. Cheating at the casino! Starting trouble!
Outside the Horus Grand Casino.
The rooftop of an apartment building.
Kainan approached a lounge chair with a strange expression; An Nishang lay reclined on the chair, wearing sunglasses and basking in the rare sunshine of the Wasteland.
The right amount of sunlight helps in the growth of her Demon Pattern ability.
Photosynthesis?
"Speak."
The red nail polish on her snow-white jade feet gleamed charmingly in the sunlight. Kainan organized his words carefully, digesting the information as he said, "Chen Che, Xia Na, and Bobby have entered the casino to gamble... It seems he isn’t there to investigate, but rather he’s engrossed in gambling, roaming between tables... He’s... he’s won a lot of money."
"How much?" An Nishang asked carelessly.
Kainan scratched the back of his head, recalling the intelligence just received: "According to the latest intel... he won, he won 9.5 million..."
An Nishang’s subtly swaying snow-white jade feet stopped, her pupils constricting sharply beneath her sunglasses.
What a big surprise indeed.
9.5 million... It’s incredibly excessive.
"Did he rob the entire casino?"
Kainan couldn’t help but twitch his mouth upon hearing the surprise in An Nishang’s tone. If even their director could be shocked, one could only imagine how exaggerated Chen Che’s feat was.
It could only be described as unbelievable.
An Nishang suddenly got up from the lounge chair, standing barefoot at the edge of the roof, looking at the Horus Grand Casino in the distance.
Her eyes sparkled with an unreadable sense of excitement.
"It really is a surprise."
Kainan’s earpiece buzzed with new information, and his expression shifted dramatically. He spoke to An Nishang’s back with a peculiar look on his face, "Director, we’ve just received another update... he... he lost..."
An Nishang frowned, turning back: "Lost again? How much did he lose?"
"5 million!"
An Nishang’s red lips twitched, her flawless, classically beautiful face maintained a composed expression with great effort.
million.
A year’s budget for the Special Operations Department.
"Has he gotten himself obsessed again?"
"Don’t give me surprises and then disappointments. I don’t like the old you; I prefer the current you..." A dangerous glint flickered in An Nishang’s eyes as she glared sternly at the distant casino.
"Keep monitoring, I want the latest intel."
"Yes!"
...
Inside the casino.
"Stop gambling! We’re still ahead!"
Xia Na saw the 5 million chips piled on Ulat’s side, and her heart ached.
Seeing Chen Che unmoved, she straddled across him, blocking his vision and threatening harshly, "Did you hear me? Half of this is mine! You’ve been touching me for so long; don’t think you can get away with it for free!"
Throughout, Xia Na had been taken advantage of from top to bottom, without any privacy left. She endured it all because Chen Che kept whispering promises that half of their winnings were hers.
As Chen Che’s winnings increased, she silently approved of his increasing boldness.
She had initially thought that winning so much money would make her sister see her in a new light, only to watch this guy’s gambling skills suddenly falter, losing it all back.
Chen Che pinched her bottom, causing her body to go limp as he pushed Xia Na back, smacked her behind, and said irritably, "What are you anxious about? When a man handles business, women shouldn’t interfere!"
The clear slap echoed as if it struck Xia Na’s face, and in front of so many gamblers, a hint of shame finally appeared on Xia Na’s emotionless face.
Chen Che finally saw the shyness amidst her short purple hair and fair face.
It indeed had a unique charm.
Just like when An Nishang was in the throes of passion, kneeling in front of him as he stroked her jaw, exhibiting that enchanting look which was utterly captivating.
Each was unique in their way.
"I’ll definitely kill you later," Xia Na whispered fiercely at Chen Che’s ear, holding back from creating a scene.
For all of Chen Che and Xia Na’s antics, Ulat merely smiled nonchalantly, seeing the chips before him, thoroughly satisfied.
The casino’s losses had been entirely recouped.
He even made more than that.
Casinos generally don’t lose money, only gamblers do.
Who knew Chen Che was so good at cleaning up, even sweeping the dealer?
Forcing Ulat to step in himself.
The crowd around them had only grown larger.
Some of the gamblers who had lost to Chen Che felt an immense satisfaction seeing him start losing as well.
Ulat won another 200,000 from Chen Che and signaled the dealer, who understood and prepared to switch out the cards used three times already for a new deck.
The dealer placed the used cards aside, readying the new deck before Chen Che, who merely glanced at it. Just as the dealer was about to discard the old cards, Chen Che tapped the table with his fingers, smiling slyly at Ulat, "Beautiful lady, one moment please."
The dealer’s hands paused, instinctively glancing at Ulat in slight panic.
Ulat eyed Chen Che and asked calmly, "Mr. Chen, are you done playing? I can arrange to have your remaining chips cashed out right away; one must know when to quit."
There seemed to be an underlying threat in his words, but Chen Che smiled and retorted, "Mr. Ulat, may I ask, do casinos truly never cheat on their own initiative?"
Ulat’s expression became stern instantly, "Mr. Chen! I’ve warned you once already, do not slander the casino’s reputation, especially in front of such distinguished guests!"
There’s no denying the powerful pressure that comes when a commerce manager is angered.
Chen Che continued to smile, nipping at Xia Na’s ear, savoring her sweet fragrance, and whispered with a smile, "Nana, it’s time to stir things up."
Chen Che maintained a gentle demeanor, but in the next second smashed his fist into the table with a loud bang, shocking everyone present. He coldly sneered at Ulat, "Screw you! If you can’t handle it, don’t you dare run a casino! I spent 5 million observing, and you think I’m a sucker?"
Ulat’s pupils shrank abruptly; no one expected Chen Che, who had always been amicably smiling, to suddenly explode.
As Ulat stood there dumbfounded, without having time to speak, Chen Che adjusted his collar, smiling kindly again, and, like some face-changing monster, kept his arm around Xia Na’s waist, "I apologize, everyone. Lost too much, emotions were out of control, but mostly it’s the frustration with the casino’s lack of integrity."
Everyone knows Horus Grand Casino is the largest and most reputable here, but who knew, such a big casino would also cheat to win the guests’ money."
These words caused an uproar.
Now was the peak time of excitement at Horus Grand Casino.
The Tasting Commerce Association, in a bid to protect Natasha, had invited numerous high-ranking dignitaries to the casino amidst trade opportunities.
Chen Che’s accusation of cheating, in front of these people, stirred a hornet’s nest.
"Chen Che! I address you as Mr. Chen out of respect, yet you dare slander the casino?"
"Am I slandering? Ha, Manager Ulat, do you think I’d act recklessly in your casino without concrete evidence?"
Ulat’s face changed rapidly.
With quick reflexes, Chen Che grabbed two decks of cards from the female dealer, flaunting them before the crowd.
"Ladies and gentlemen, here’s the evidence."
