Chapter 364: Hontas
Though Ninja Momma didn’t say it, I understood her decision was also based on her safety and her desire to avoid a fallout.
Not just in London, but also in L.A., on Isola Street.
On my own, I had navigated my way into the dome where John, the minister of communication, had been killed.
Also, against all odds, surrounded by enemies on all sides, even beside me I had gone in and rescued Kyle, the governor of New York, along with his closest guards, surviving a missile strike.
I was not just a billionaire. I was a capable one, someone who thought for himself and acted on his own wishes.
With how much experience Ninja Momma had with me, there was no way it didn’t cross her mind that just bringing me to this island was asking for trouble. She might not have been sure about me, but I was sure as hell that with her brains, she could figure something out.
Who would suspect a young billionaire with blazing luck?
The masked female in white might suspect and scrutinise me all she wanted, might employ other methods to track movements on the island, but she would never imagine that I had already seen all the island had to offer. With just a pulse of my Psion, I had glimpsed state secrets and possibly a brewing betrayal by one of its trusted agents.
"Alright, think of the base. Do you recognize any of these images?"
Though she didn’t say it out loud, observing the base, I knew that her long stay on the island had been against Ninja Momma’s wishes. The milf shielded me from scrutiny, putting up a farce of calm, but I could see the dozens of soldiers who had been deployed into the forts I had stepped out of.
It was early in the morning, 3 a.m., when we were finally allowed to depart, all suspicions about me cleared. Now, I sat alone with Ninja Momma in a room, questioned about what I knew.
"I recognise a couple," I muttered, bursting the dark-haired woman’s bubble as I relaxed into my seat, staring at her.
Ninja Momma frowned for a second, then licked her lips and sat up, looking at me quizzically.
"What do you want?"
Just by correctly telling Ninja Momma the number of underground bases on the island, I had accredited myself. Now it was time for her to pay the piper.
"I don’t know you."
"Is that important?"
"When you know my deepest secret and live rent-free in my head, I believe it is very important. I don’t even know if you spy on my everyday activities."
"I understand you, but it’s better you don’t know who I am. You’re not ready for the level I operate on."
I cocked my head to the side, and Ninja Momma, crossing her legs, smiled.
"Trust me, you aren’t."
"That’s for me to decide."
"Well, sorry. As much as it’s fair for me to tell you who I am, it would also mean I’d have to kill you."
I had a short stare-off with Ninja Momma before lowering my gaze to the table.
Tap!!
Tap!!
Tap!!
My index finger landed on three of the pictures on the table. I had seen something like them down at the base.
Nodding, Ninja Momma gathered the pictures, separating the ones I had pointed out from the rest. Then she brought up another set of pictures containing images of different individuals.
"Did you see any of them?"
I took a few seconds, then once again, my finger fell on a select few of the pictures.
No, I hadn’t gone mad, nor had I become careless. My actions in that moment were exposing a very large part of my strength. With what I had just done, Ninja Momma could clearly understand how dangerous I was.
I knew this, yet still continued.
After getting her answers on the photos, Ninja Momma proceeded to question me about the happenings within the base, about the lifestyle there.
"A research center run entirely by women is quite orderly. The only problem is the lack of fire in the eyes of most."
"That’s a very strong observation."
"Eyes are the windows to people’s souls, especially when you interact with them," I said offhandedly.
Ninja Momma’s eyes narrowed.
"Eyes?"
"Yeah, I looked deep into their eyes. That’s how I know this."
"I see."
Looking at the papers in her hand, the milf said nothing more, and I grinned broadly.
Yes, Ninja Momma knew I was capable now, though, I had made her think it was more than she had originally estimated. I couldn’t truly look into people’s eyes with Echo, only observe them. But now my words gave Ninja Momma the impression that I had actually been inside the base.
"Our Priestess. What’s her name?"
"Hontas."
"No, her real name."
"I already told you before, I can’t say that."
"I insist."
Ninja Momma stopped her actions, looked up at me, peered into my gaze for several seconds, and then looked back down.
"Noel Kine."
The answer came after a brief silence.
"Where is she from?"
"American parents, but she was born in Scotland. Lived there until she was nine, then moved back to America."
"Her father?"
"Noel Silva."
"Nice name. What university did she go to?"
"None. After high school, she meandered into several religions. She was a pastor, a nun, a fortune teller, she even dabbled in Buddhism for a while."
"And now she’s a priestess for the government."
"Yeah."
"What’s her qualification for that job?"
"She made the blind see, brought rain, and called down fire. There are even rumours of her walking on water. Are you interested in her?"
"Her clothes might have been baggy, but they couldn’t hide the figure beneath them from me."
"Yes, she does have a godly figure. You want to add her to your harem?"
"Yes, and you’re going to help me."
"That’s going to be hard. She considers herself a vessel for God, a maiden that belongs to Him. I’m sure we can pull something off, though."
