Zhao Yan was looking at the old man's phone when she heard footsteps behind her.
She glanced back and saw Old Qin rushing into the police station, rolling up his sleeves, and heading straight for the interrogation room.
Jiang Yu, who was conducting the interrogation, was stunned for a moment. Old Qin grabbed Qin Jiangshui by the collar.
He slapped him hard.
"You beast!!"
Old Qin said indignantly, and feeling it wasn't enough, he slapped him again.
Jiang Yu stood up, and before he could speak, Old Qin said sternly, "Don't stop me, I'm not a police officer anymore."
Jiang Yu didn't dare to say anything and sat back in his seat, looking at other police officers.
They shrugged, indicating they were powerless.
"Heh..." Blood flowed from Qin Jiangshui's mouth, and he let out a cold laugh, pulling at the corners of his lips.
"You beast, did you kill Guan Jing!" Old Qin's body trembled with anger as he pointed at Qin Jiangshui.
Zhao Yan knew the name Guan Jing; she had heard Jiang Yu mention it when he was investigating Qin Jiangshui.
Guan Jing was Qin Jiangshui's first wife.
She had died in a car accident later. Now it seemed that it was not an accident at all, but something Qin Jiangshui had orchestrated himself.
Qin Jiangshui didn't speak, watching Old Qin's hysterical roar with a happy expression on his face.
Then, like a madman, he burst into laughter.
His hands, cuffed, kept rising to hit the table heavily. The smile on his face instantly vanished, and he said in a low, sinister voice, "She deserved to die!"
"I'll kill you!" Old Qin could no longer bear it, his forehead veins bulging with anger. He looked around, immediately grabbed a stool, and was about to smash it over Qin Jiangshui's head.
Qin Jiangshui forced a smile, looking at Old Qin.
"Master, please calm down!"
Seeing Old Qin raise the stool, Jiang Yu quickly walked over and took it down.
Old Qin's eyes rolled back in anger, and he panted heavily.
He put the stool down, gave Qin Jiangshui a hateful look, and turned to leave.
Zhao Yan, worried that Old Qin might have a breakdown from anger, followed him as he walked out the door.
As soon as Old Qin stepped out, he crouched down, holding his head, and began to cry uncontrollably.
He kept raising his hands, clenching his fists, and hitting his own head fiercely.
Zhao Yan quickly closed the door, crouched down, and grabbed Old Qin's hand, "Old Qin, please don't hit yourself like this."
Old Qin, sobbing uncontrollably, was helped to a seat by Zhao Yan.
"I'm so sorry Guan Jing, I was the one who introduced them, which led her to meet that beast. I thought he would settle down after getting married, and not be like the good-for-nothing he was before!"
"But I never expected that this beast would do such a heinous thing."
As he spoke, Old Qin kept slapping his own cheeks.
"I deserve to die, I deserve to die!"
Zhao Yan grabbed Old Qin's hand, shook her head, and sighed, handing him a tissue.
Old Qin had never imagined that his supposedly dead younger brother would suddenly come back to life, only to reappear as a murderer.
"Captain Jiang, the search warrant from above has been issued, allowing us to search Qin Jiangshui's residence," a young police officer said, pushing open the interrogation room door.
"Let's go," Jiang Yu stood up and said.
Zhao Yan was invited and walked along.
Sitting in the car, Jiang Yu said, "A few minutes ago, Zhang Yi sent a text message. He found a very short male hair inside the fingernail of the deceased, Qian Chuntao."
"This male hair is extremely short and was pressed deep into the nail bed by Qian Chuntao, already mixed with blood and flesh."
"After comparison, this hair belongs to Qin Jiangshui."
When this evidence was presented to Qin Jiangshui, he was still stubborn and didn't say a word in response to Jiang Yu's questions.
He thought Jiang Yu had no evidence and was just trying to trick him.
But when he saw Jiang Yu looking at him like he was a clown, Qin Jiangshui suddenly recalled a detail.
When he had hit Qian Chuntao with a hammer, Qian Chuntao had let out a loud laugh.
He had initially thought that Qian Chuntao's brain had become abnormal from her long stay in the psychiatric hospital. Now, he realized that the laughter clearly carried a meaning of "you will die too."
He appeared calm, but in reality, he was panicking.
After driving for more than thirty minutes, they arrived at Qinghua District.
This neighborhood was considered a mid-to-upper-class area in Jiangcheng.
The neighborhood primarily featured detached villas.
"Qin Jiangshui was living such a good life, why did he still kill people?" Female officer Xiao Xue looked up at the neighborhood, puzzled.
"Murderers are never satisfied," Jiang Yu said calmly.
As they escorted Qin Jiangshui back to the police station, they had already sent another team of officers to Qin Jiangshui's residence.
They were mainly concerned about more evidence being destroyed.
Upon arriving at the villa, several police officers were talking to a woman in her fifties at the entrance, with several young people beside her.
As they walked further in, they could hear an argument.
Seeing Jiang Yu arrive, the leading police officer breathed a sigh of relief and quickly walked over, saying, "Captain Jiang, this family is really making me speechless."
"You handle it yourself."
"I'm going to sue you! You think you can do whatever you want just because you're wearing that uniform! Why do you say my husband is a murderer!"
"Don't let them in! Why should they enter my house!" the old woman pushed the investigating officer, throwing a tantrum.
"Uncle Ma couldn't possibly have killed anyone. He's honest and diligent. He's afraid to even kill a fish, and he spends his days picking up children and reading newspapers. How could he be a murderer, let alone a serial killer! This is impossible! Are you mistaken!"
The young man next to the old woman spoke up. Although his tone was not as extreme as the old woman's, he was also very displeased.
Jiang Yu took out the search warrant, "If you say one more word, I can charge you with obstructing official business, and if the circumstances are serious, you will be sentenced to imprisonment for not more than three years."
"Let us into the house, can you or can you not?"
Upon hearing the words "search warrant," the previously belligerent old woman's legs suddenly went weak.
The young man was also startled and dared not utter a word.
After searching for a while, they found nothing.
Qin Jiangshui's room was neat and tidy.
Zhao Yan went to the garage. She intended to check the trunk of the car. As she walked next to the vehicle, she noticed something unusual. She felt a cold, yin energy from beneath the floor.
After tapping it lightly, she found that the floor sounded hollow.
"Captain Jiang, this part is hollow," Zhao Yan called out.
"Open it," Jiang Yu said.
Beneath the floor tiles was a metal plate. Opening the metal plate revealed a basement.
The mother and son looked astonished as the basement was revealed, clearly not expecting there to be a basement beneath the garage.
