Chapter 137: LUCID

Chapter 137: LUCID

Liam gently lowered the massive rock onto the floor of the Dimensional Space, setting it down a safe distance from the towering molecular analyzer. The weight shook the ground with a muted thud, scattering dust across the barren surface.

He broke off a small piece from it, opened a compartment of the molecular analyser and placed it inside.

Lucy already understood what he wanted, as she started scanning piece of rock.

Liam walked to the molecular assembler and opened the finished products’ compartment. Inside it, dozens, hundreds, no — a sea of polished devices filled the compartment, stacked with perfect symmetry.

With just a glance, he already counted a lot. Lucy had already given him the specific numbers, which was 1,054,845 Gear Glasses. Some of them were of different colour but all of the same design.

A bright smile coloured his face, as he stared at the Gear Glasses, then the molecular assembler. It just keeps telling him that his $100m was more than well spent.

He reached into the compartment and took one Gear Glass out of the compartment and observed it.

The device looks perfect. Flawless. A piece of technology that looked like no different from a piece of accessory back on Earth.

The device was ready for use as it is, as Lucy had already flashed the OS onto it. Liam can give or sell it to whoever he wants as it is, without a problem. But he can’t do that. The device needs packaging. He’s not going to launch the product without a packaging.

"Lucy, do we have enough stock to fabricate biodegradable packages for these?" he asked.

Her reply was immediate. "Yes. The fragment you placed in the analyzer is sufficient. With a bit of transmutation, the raw elements can be reshaped. I can produce more than enough for both the devices and their packaging."

"Good," Liam said, then turned back to the massive rock, and he suddenly thought of something.

He walked to it and with a single fluid motion he cleaved a chunk from the stone, with Silverleaf. The sword sliced through the rock like a hot knife through butter.

Liam crouched, picked up the chunk with both hands, and carried it back to the assembler. He let Silverleaf float beside him, suspended by telekinesis, before raising the rock high and crushing it between his palms, as he held it just a bit over the open compartment.

Dust, bits and pieces of the chunk of rock fell into the compartment. Liam saw this and nodded to himself in satisfaction. He closed the compartment and Lucy immediately got to work, fabricating the biodegradable packages.

He didn’t need to tell her the color he wants the packages to be, and designs he wants on it, as she already knew.

Black, with a radiant Quasar in the middle. As for the official name of the device, Liam decided to call it LUCID and the company it will be released under will be NOVA.

Yeah, he’s awfully aware of how horrible his naming sense is.

While Lucy was working on that, Liam decided to share his thought with her.

"Lucy," he said slowly, "I think we should create an assembly line here. A permanent one. You could mine the resources directly, feed them into the assembler, and mass-produce whatever we need without me manually carrying rocks around."

Lucy replied, her voice thoughtful. "It is a solid idea. But, Master, it is an inconvenience for you. You’re already stretched between two worlds. Your time should not be wasted on things I can manage."

Liam nodded when he heard this. What Lucy said was true. He will be launching the Gear Glass within the week or in a week, and there will be quite a bit of things has to take care of, even with Daniel and the Family Office help.

Also, there’s the cultivation world. Even though he wasn’t currently focused on it, there are still little things he can do there.

"So what do you suggest?" he asked. He knew that she already has a better idea, with the way she saw the flaw in his plan.

"I will build the assembly line, just as you planned. But until it is complete, I will be the one to manage the workload. To do that..." She hesitated, then continued with conviction. "I will need to create a body for myself."

Liam frowned slightly when he heard this. It wasn’t that he didn’t like the idea. He love it. He would actually love to have Lucy as a physical companion in the cultivation world and also in future, when he goes to the magical universe.

The reason why he frowned was because he was wondering why he didn’t think about it in the first place. As for if he trusts Lucy enough for her to have a physical body? Yes, he completely do.

It would be weird if he doesn’t. Lucy has handled a lot of things for him over the past two weeks since she was created. She has proven her usefulness and loyalty time, and time again. And Liam can’t forget how genuinely worried she was when he disappeared from the space on his first world traveling.

"You can go ahead with the idea, Lucy. Start working on it after you’re done with the packaging," he said, as he gave his permission.

"Thank you, Master," Lucy said, with a genuinely warm tone.

Liam chuckled, shaking his head. He never got used to her calling him that.

"Will you have enough elements stock to build it?" He asked.

"I will need to transmutate a lot of the available elements to get but I will definitely get enough. More than enough,"

"What kind of body will you build?" he asked curiously.

"Human," Lucy answered without hesitation. "It will look, feel, and behave like one. But with enhancements. With your permission, I will access your knowledge through the Gear Glass and use it to integrate features."

Liam raised a brow. "Such as?"

"Anti-gravity systems," she said simply. "So I can fly. Reinforced musculature. Energy cores for endurance. I want it to be extremely powerful. I am taking inspiration... from a villainous character in a certain movie."

Liam nodded in agreement. He agreed with the features Lucy wants to give her body. He can’t exactly have her weak, especially when he intends to take her to a dangerous world.

As for accessing his knowledge, she can do that through the Gear Glass and he has already given her limited permission to use whatever knowledge she wants.

Besides the fact that the Gear Glass is a highly advanced gaming gear and more than a phone, there are hidden benefits it has, especially to someone who has Lucy.

They are:

Shared learning: if Liam learned something once, Lucy learned it instantly.

Skill mirroring: she could simulate his combat instincts, his strategies, his techniques.

Parallel processing: she could study one thing while he focused on another, doubling their efficiency.

Error correction: she could refine his approaches, optimizing them beyond human limits.

Out of the four, Liam’s currently has been making use of the first two. The last two are of no use to him.

"Finish the packaging and seal the devices inside. Let me know when it’s done." he said, as grabbed Silverleaf by the hilt, and placed it on the obsidian table.

"Yes, Master," Lucy replied.

Liam nodded and left the Dimensional Space.
