Chapter 246: The Competition - Part 1

Inside the Array Competition Hall, the hall was filled with disciples and elders from various sects.

Although this could not compare to the martial arena, there were still thousands of people inside the massive hall.

The highest disciples came from the Array Hall. Compared to sects that dabbled in all professions, the hall solely focused on array formation.

Quickly, five judges appeared on the podium.

"Please send two of your disciples." The highest judge declared.

From the Dust Valley Sect, Fei Yan and Da Peng stepped forward.

Both of them had cultivation of Foundation Realm stage-2.

However, that was enough for this competition. As array masters, their mastery in array formation was the most important aspect.

The hall was silent like a graveyard. Mo Jian watched Fei Yan and Da Peng without any change in his expression.

Disciples from the Array Halls' hands danced swiftly on the answer paper, their faces filled with confidence.

To them, this was as easy as drinking.

Disciples from the seven ancient clans and three ancient sects were also answering the questions with pride.

How could anyone compare to their foundation?

Thirty minutes later, two people stood up almost at the same time.

Moreso, they were from the same sect.

"Huh! Those two are from the Dust Valley Sect." A voice whispered among the disciples watching from behind.

Others quickly found the sect the two disciples came from. They turned and looked in the direction of the Dust Valley Sect.

Why are they standing?

Don't tell me they are done.

The Dust Valley Sect had left a great impression yesterday, but this is the array formation competition.

How could they take it for granted?

Feeling all the gazes on them, elders and disciples from the Dust Valley Sect wore prideful smiles as they watched Da Peng and Fei Yan submit their answers.

When Da Peng and Fei Yan returned, Elder Han Gan could not wait to ask.

"How is it?"

"Master, the questions are too simple." Fei Yan responded calmly.

To them, it was an easy test that they did not need to think about before answering.

When the other sects and clans heard her response, they wore unsightly looks.

What do you mean it is too simple?

"Huh! Nonsense. They must have written rubbish. How could the Assembly Summit exam be too simple?" A young man from the ancient Zhou clan snorted in disdain.

The other ancient clans nodded in agreement. They did not believe her for once.

Instantly, the gazes directed at the Dust Valley Sect turned into disgust.

Trash!

They thought.

However, the Dust Valley Sect did not pay them any attention as they left the Array Competition Hall.

They still needed to take another competition.

Their next competition was the Runic Competition.

Each competition was done at a different time so as not to clash with other professions.

Arriving at the Runic Competition Hall, just like the Array Competition Hall, it was a massive hall.

At first, there were only a few people inside the hall. They were from the Runic Halls.

But after minutes, more and more people began to arrive.

Twenty minutes later, the hall was filled with people.

For the Runic Competition, Yan Li and Xiu Xu would represent the Dust Valley Sect.

Like the Array Competition, the Runic Competition would be a written exam.

Quickly, the exam began, and the hall descended into silence.

Runes are more complicated than array formations, since they needed to memorize thousands of runes and understand their purpose and combination.

Mo Jian was even more confident in the Runic Competition than the Array Competition.

These were the first-generation disciples that were taught the Mystic Mechanics.

How could they fail?

Twenty minutes later, Yan Li and Xiu Xu stood at the same time and went to submit their papers.

"What the hell is going on?"

"Are they taking the exam as a joke?" A Lotus Sword Sect disciple couldn't help but say.

His voice was not loud but everyone in the hall heard him since everywhere was silent.

The Silver Wei Sect, known for their arrogance, could not take it anymore.

How could some unknown sect submit their answers in half the time?

A young arrogant true disciple walked to the judge.

"Judge, I suggest you remove those two from this competition. They've soiled the prestige of runic professions." He said with indignation.

"How dare they submit an empty cheat and act as if they were some talented descendants."

One of the judges looked at the Silver Wei disciple and said solemnly.

"This is the summit ground. We do not constitute any nuisance. Leave now before you implicate your sect."

Hmm?

The Silver Wei Sect's true disciple was stunned. He stared at the judge and prepared to speak when he heard a voice in his ear.

"Return."

Even a fool would detect the two disciples from the Dust Valley Sect did not submit empty papers.

If they did not submit empty papers then how was it possible for them to answer one hundred questions in twenty minutes?

Elders from the Runic Halls stared at the Dust Valley Sect with various expressions flashing through their eyes.

Mo Jian looked at the people and the corner of his lips curled up in disdain.

"Let's leave. We still have competitions to take part in." The Sect Master said proudly.

Watching their departing backs, many could still not believe what just happened.

Twenty minutes!

That was all it took for them to complete the exam.
