Chapter 242 242: The Assembly Summit Begins.

The next day.

The Imperial Capital was bustling with many bright faces on the street.

The wide roads were filled with thousands of people. Previously, the wide road made it impossible for congestion to happen.

But today was different.

Today was the day the decade Assembly Summit would start.

Different uniforms could be seen everywhere. Expensive carriages journeyed on the street, but no one seemed to care.

Their focus was on the Summit ground.

The Summit ground was located north of the Imperial Capital.

It was a city within a city, and it only opened during the Summit period.

Among the throng of people, the Dust Valley Sect was like any ordinary sect.

For a sect to be invited to the Assembly Summit, they must have a Golden Core Expert. Therefore, every sect or force present in the Summit had a Golden Core Expert.

Seated inside the carriage with his parents, Mo Jian looked at the excited crowd without any change in his expression.

"Son, what are you thinking?" His mother asked.

"Nothing." Mo Jian shook his head.

His mother exchanged a subtle glance with her husband.

The Sect Master understood his wife was worried but there was nothing he could do. There was no help if Mo Jian was not willing to speak.

"Son, are you sure about the sect from the Southern Region?" The Sect Master asked, changing the topic.

"Yes. I have an alliance with the three powerful sects and their governor." Mo Jian nodded. "With them, you could have some backing and depend on each other."

"Mother, how are you going to handle your clansmen?" He turned and looked at her.

He was worried about her.

She had been exiled by her father for choosing to marry his father– a mere commoner with little talent.

His mother knitted her brow for a moment before she responded.

"Son, we don't need to worry about it. When they come, I'll know how to handle them."

Mo Jian nodded without any change in his expression. He knew how tricky and sensitive their situation was.

Any slight mistake, they would be sent packing. His father had just broken through to Golden Core Realm Stage-2 while his mother was only a tad bit from breaking through to Stage-3.

But compared to the ancient clans, their power was insignificant.

"Young Master, we've arrived." The old withered man's voice came from the outside.

Mo Jian put on his mask and everything about him changed. He looked at his parents one more time before he stepped out.

What greeted him was an ancient wall over fifty meters in height.

Staring at the wall, he could feel powerful hidden runes and a strong protective formation.

'As expected of the Summit ground.' He mused before he joined the other disciples.

The elders gathered as they waited for the Sect Master.

With large strides, the Sect Master walked forward and led everyone toward the registration area.

The registration area was overcrowded with everyone trying to register.

Many would have started causing trouble if not for the Peak Golden Core Realm standing quietly at the side.

An hour later, it was the turn of the Dust Valley Sect to register.

The registration was simple. Each sect needed to register their disciples for the competition they would partake in.

Almost everyone chose the martial battle competition, but the Dust Valley Sect did not.

They registered two disciples for Rune, Artifact Refinement, Array Formation, Alchemist, and Go.

Watching the registration, the core disciples wore a bitter smile on their faces.

They had all hoped to compete on the high stage only to be sidelined.

Are they disappointed? Of course, they were disappointed.

While not all of them understood why they were on the sidelines, some understood.

Thus, they could only accept they were weak in the grand schemes of things.

Ten minutes later, the registration was completed, and they were allowed to enter the Summit ground.

"Let's go." The Sect Master commanded with a stoic face.

Looking at the ancient ground that was only a couple of meters from him; to say he wasn't nervous and excited.

That would be a lie.

It had been his dream to partake in the Summit, but he knew it was impossible.

But who would have expected his only son would make it possible.

It was barely eight months since everything started changing for their sect.

They took down the Radiant Sect and took charge of their fate.

The Golden Core Realm which seemed to be an impossible mountain to cross was made easy by him.

Right now, there were over five Golden Core Experts in their sect.

They might be weak compared to others, but this was only the result of less than a year.

Give them ten years– no, five years.

He was damn sure they could catch up to these ancient clans.

Although he did not know how powerful his son's inheritance was, he firmly believed it was no weaker than the ancient clans or sect foundation.

Passing through the massive gate, everyone felt the air around them change.

The air smelled of time forgotten. The cobblestone had aged, covered in dust.

In the distance, they saw ancient buildings. Although the air reeked of ancientness, the pure spiritual energy rushed into their body.

Mo Jian creased his brow.

This felt unlike any spiritual energy. It was too pure and needed little refining.

If he were to cultivate here, he would break through to the Golden Core Realm in a month.

Gasps and various exclamations echoed around him. Anyone entering the Summit ground would be shocked.

Those that did not have any change in their expression were those that had been to the Summit ground before.

Walking on the massive road, they noticed the road split into different directions.

However, no one headed toward them.

Suddenly, they heard loud shouts coming from the distance.

Everyone was curious and they increased their pace. When they were close, they saw a high martial stage with people fighting on them.

Watching the disciples fighting on the stage, the Dust Valley Sect looked at their elders before looking at the Sect Master.

"You can fight but don't go too far." The Sect Master said with a light smile.

"Thank you, Sect Master." The disciples said with a bright smile on their faces.

Finally, they could showcase their skills.
