Chapter 1820: Chapter 1234: This Is Tatooine?
“Master, do you believe that fleet is on Tatooine?”
While piloting the ship to Tatooine, Qui-Gon Jinn’s apprentice, Obi-Wan, inquired.
“I don’t know, Obi-Wan.”
Qui-Gon Jinn shook his head.
“That’s Hutt territory, far from the trade routes, indeed a haven for all sorts of fugitives, but I always feel things won’t be that simple. Think about it, a fleet, hundreds of warships, the supplies and personnel needed are astronomical numbers, even Tatooine might not be able to support such a consumption of resources.”
“Then, could it be the Hutts are behind this?”
Obi-Wan’s speculation wasn’t unfounded, the Hutts controlled the entire Galactic Republic’s evil dealings, it could be said that behind all sorts of criminal acts, there were these Hutts’ shadows, almost like the rulers of a criminal empire. If the Hutts were indeed involved in this dispute, it wouldn’t be implausible.
“…… I always feel things aren’t that simple.”
Qui-Gon Jinn didn’t immediately make a decision.
“In any case, we’ll know once we get to Tatooine.”
As they spoke, the starry sky before them suddenly changed, and then, a planet appeared in front of them.
However……
“Is this… Tatooine?”
Looking at the planet in front of them, Qui-Gon Jinn was bewildered. He had been to Tatooine before. As a Jedi Knight, Qui-Gon Jinn had visited here in the past. In his memory, Tatooine was an arid, unsuitable planet for human settlement, which is why it was considered a haven for fugitives. However, the planet before them now was a blue planet with lush greenery……
“Did we come to the wrong place?”
“No, Master.”
Obi-Wan glanced at the star map.
“According to the star map’s position, this is indeed Tatooine.”
“……… Let’s go take a look.”
Qui-Gon Jinn’s expression became somewhat serious. If this wasn’t Tatooine but another planet, it would merely mean they had taken a wrong turn, which would be understandable. But if this really was Tatooine… then something was likely not right.
Passing through the atmosphere, Qui-Gon Jinn saw a city below. However… this again left Qui-Gon Jinn questioning what he knew.
“Is this really Tatooine?”
Looking at the city before him, Qui-Gon Jinn couldn’t believe his eyes. In his memory, Tatooine was a town amidst the desert, filled with those low, mud-brick buildings resembling Eskimo igloos. This was due to Tatooine’s perennial drought and lack of rain, making the construction of high buildings meaningless; most would rather dig underground to live.
The water resources here were also considerably scarce, with the populace mostly relying on condensers to obtain water. Due to Tatooine’s vast day-night temperature difference, they would use condensers to collect water vapor at night, which would then be used for living.
But the city unfolding before Qui-Gon Jinn’s eyes was entirely different!
Under the sunlight, the two could clearly see the ground was covered in lush green fields, crops swaying with the wind, resembling waves. In the distance, forests and lakes were scattered everywhere, making this place look nothing like the arid, hot Tatooine, and more like a magnificent natural planet!
Moreover, there were no sign of those low mud-brick buildings. Instead, there were rows of incredibly exquisite and beautiful metal and stone structures, with a large town in the center and circles of fields and crops on the outskirts.
“Are we really not mistaken?”
“Yes, Master, at least… the star map shows as much.”
Even Obi-Wan was a bit unsure now.
“Ding Dong—————!”
As the two hesitated, a voice suddenly came through the communication channel.
“Hello, Outsiders, welcome to Tatooine. Please follow our guidance to the landing pad.”
“………?!”
Hearing the phrase, Qui-Gon Jinn was even more startled. In the past, Tatooine, a place for fugitives, had no scouting facilities, let alone air traffic control; people could come and go as they pleased. Now, there was actually air traffic control? Does that mean Tatooine now has a powerful ruler?
But come to think of it, is this really Tatooine?!
“Master? What should we do now?”
“Follow their guidance.”
Qui-Gon Jinn sternly watched ahead and spoke.
Things seemed to be getting increasingly strange now.
Soon, under guidance, the two piloted the ship to a landing pad near the town. Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan stepped out of the ship, looking around — the first thing that greeted them was moist, fresh water vapor that invigorated them. It was entirely different from the dry, blistering planet Qui-Gon Jinn remembered.
“Did we really come to the wrong place, Master?”
Even Obi-Wan, in such circumstances, began questioning what he knew, but Qui-Gon Jinn shook his head.
“No, we didn’t go to the wrong place.”
While speaking, Qui-Gon Jinn lifted his head, looking at the building in front of them — a metal structure resembling a cathedral. It in itself wasn’t particularly special, but what caught Qui-Gon Jinn’s attention wasn’t the cathedral itself but the massive metal Skull Head carved on it.
