Chapter 75 Did she want to use her as a pawn again?

After Huangfu Yue sealed the jar, she exited the space and took the emptied wonton bowl out of the guest room.

At the staircase, about to go downstairs, Huangfu Yue suddenly remembered she needed to greet Consort Dowager Zheng and inform the elderly lady that she was going out to buy carriages.

Huangfu Yue walked towards Consort Dowager Zheng's guest room. Suddenly, the door of the guest room to her left opened, and a maidservant emerged. Upon seeing Huangfu Yue, she immediately bowed.

"Greetings, Miss." Her gaze towards Huangfu Yue flickered with deep reverence.

Huangfu Yue's current status in the hearts of the servants at the Prince Dai's estate surpassed that of any other master. The servants now deeply respected Huangfu Yue, believing her to be omniscient and incredibly capable, and also exceptionally kind to them, inspiring both respect and affection.

Huangfu Yue glanced at the maidservant. She seemed to be the maidservant accompanying Zhong Liangshu, and the room she came out of was where Zhong Liangshu and her daughter resided.

"Are my third sister-in-law and Ling'er in the room?" Huangfu Yue asked casually.

"Replying to Miss, they are not. The Third Young Mistress has taken Miss Ling'er to the Fourth Young Mistress's room," the maidservant replied respectfully.

Huangfu Yue's gaze flickered. Was Zhong Liangshu taking Ling'er to Yang Wanqian's room just to sit with her, to care for Yang Wanqian, who was pregnant, or was it to discuss the "Gold-Inlaid Jade Embellished with Jewels: A Celebration of Immortals' Longevity Hairpin"?

Was she still trying to prevent her grandmother from giving the "Gold-Inlaid Jade Embellished with Jewels: A Celebration of Immortals' Longevity Hairpin" to Xu Yuqing, and continue to use Yang Wanqian as a pawn?

Whatever. Grandmother would handle it; she didn't need to worry.

Lowering her gaze, she glanced at the bowl in her hand and asked, "Where are you going? Are you going downstairs?"

"Yes. This servant is going downstairs."

"Please take this bowl downstairs for me and give it to the waiter to send to the kitchen for washing." Huangfu Yue handed the bowl in her hand to the maidservant.

"Yes." The maidservant immediately agreed and extended her hands to receive the bowl. "Does Miss have any other instructions?"

"No, you may go." Huangfu Yue waved her hand.

The maidservant respectfully bowed to Huangfu Yue again and then departed.

Huangfu Yue continued forward. She walked quickly, and within ten seconds, she reached Consort Dowager Zheng's door. The door was closed.

Huangfu Yue reached out and knocked. "Grandmother, it's Yue'er. Are you there?"

The door immediately opened. The one who opened it was a middle-aged woman. Huangfu Yue remembered her as one of the servants attending Consort Dowager Zheng, named Yun Niang.

"Greetings, Miss. Miss, please come in." Yun Niang immediately bowed upon seeing Huangfu Yue and invited her in.

"Yue'er is here, come sit quickly." Consort Dowager Zheng's voice came from inside the room.

Huangfu Yue entered the room. Consort Dowager Zheng was sitting at a round table, drinking tea. She had clearly finished breakfast.

Huangfu Yue came before Consort Dowager Zheng and, with a smile, curtsied. "Your granddaughter pays her respects to Grandmother."

Huangfu Yue subtly scanned the room quickly. This room was exactly the same as the side room she was staying in.

She inwardly chuckled at how identical the main chambers truly were.

"No need for such formality, come and sit down for tea." Consort Dowager Zheng smiled kindly and beckoned her granddaughter.

"Quickly, pour a cup of tea for Miss." Consort Dowager Zheng instructed Yun Niang, who had closed the door and approached.

"No need to pour tea for me, and I won't be sitting. I've come to tell Grandmother something, and then I'll leave," Huangfu Yue said.

"What is it?" Consort Dowager Zheng asked immediately.

"I want to go out for a bit to buy a few carriages, so that all the masters and servants in our estate can travel by carriage. This way, afterwards, no one will have to walk and be tired," Huangfu Yue replied.

Consort Dowager Zheng nodded. "That's a good idea. Everyone having a carriage to ride in and not having to walk will speed up our journey. If we continue walking as we did yesterday, it's too slow; we won't cover much ground in a day."
