The Trickster King

Chapter 117 Journey to a Foreign Land

Mu Jiahe looked at Xiao Xun, "You ran off abroad as soon as your case was closed, weren't you fleeing the law?"

Xiao Xun was dumbfounded, "How could that be!?"

Seeing Xiao Xun's expression, Mu Jiahe smiled, "Just kidding. If you were fleeing, you wouldn't have bought the closest round-trip ticket, would you? I'll figure something out for you. How about smuggling?"

Looking at Xiao Xun's bewildered and innocent expression, "Okay, I'll try to go through the proper procedures?"

Xiao Xun said with relief, "Then I'll have to trouble you, President Mu."

Mu Jiahe shook his head helplessly, took out his phone, and called someone at the Exit and Entry Administration. After hanging up, he said with a cold expression, "Okay, tonight's flight. You can just take your passport and go through the terminal?"

Xiao Xun said sheepishly, "I've never been abroad in my life, so I haven't gotten a passport."

"But the staff at the Exit and Entry Administration said there's passport information for you."

Xiao Xun arrived at the airport with doubts, reissued his passport, and looking at the records, realized he had flown to many countries.

It was then he remembered that he had messed up his entry and exit records to avoid pursuit.

After eating something at the airport, Xiao Xun said to Mu Jiahe, "President Mu, you can go back. I'll wait here myself. We'll contact each other when we get back."

Mu Jiahe nodded, took out a silver-gray card from his bag, "Here, you should find this useful."

Xiao Xun hesitated, "President Mu, you already gave me a black card, remember?"

"That one can only be used domestically. This one is globally valid, keep it. This way, I'll know what you're up to."

Xiao Xun didn't refuse, took the card, and said, "Thank you."

Mu Jiahe took Xiao Xun to collect his ticket, then told him which gate to enter the departure hall, how to go through security, how to take the shuttle bus, and how to check the boarding gate number after getting off.

Xiao Xun knew the procedures by heart. Mu Jiahe glanced at the flight information screen and said to him, "Your flight is about to take off. Have a pleasant journey."

"Thank you, President Mu!"

Xiao Xun thanked him, then walked towards the gate with his ticket and passport.

There weren't many people going to Country H, so the airline had assigned a small passenger plane. The shuttle bus drove directly to the cabin door. Xiao Xun didn't even know what a boarding gate looked like.

The small plane was quite bumpy, and the reactions were particularly strong. Since Country H was a neighboring country, they arrived in a short time.

S City in Country H is considered an international metropolis with people from all over the world.

However, Xiao Xun was a typical East Asian, so he didn't attract much attention.

After getting off the plane, he hailed a taxi with fluent Western Mandarin and went to a hotel not far from Country H. This hotel was a safe house for that mysterious organization.

It wasn't that they had invited Xiao Xun there; rather, Xiao Xun had found the information himself through the internet. His purpose in staying here was to show them, so they wouldn't keep 'scaring' him with phone calls every day.

It was a dilapidated-looking inn with leaks everywhere inside.

Such an inn wouldn't do good business anywhere, and the price couldn't be too high, otherwise, it would arouse suspicion from those who paid attention.

To show that he really couldn't afford a better hotel, Xiao Xun specially bought a very cheap jacket and also bought a large bottle of cola and two packs of instant noodles from a convenience store.

When Xiao Xun appeared at the entrance of the small inn, the auntie at the front desk asked him in broken Japanese what he wanted.

Xiao Xun opened the translation software on his phone and said he wanted to stay.

Unexpectedly, the auntie's attitude immediately changed, and she enthusiastically said, "Oh my goodness! You're from the same hometown, aren't you? Is there something you need here?"

As if she had met a nephew she hadn't seen in a long time, she said, "What's so good about this broken inn? There's a chain hotel next door, it's cheap and clean."

Xiao Xun smiled, thinking to himself: I actually met a compatriot here.

Then he put on a pitiful look, "Auntie, I just came from next door. They don't have their cheapest rooms left, and I didn't bring much money with me when I came out. It's better to stay here than sleep on the street!"

The auntie's sympathy was immediately overflowed, "Poor child, you must not have eaten yet. Auntie just stewed some food. I'll scoop some for you later!"

Xiao Xun pointed to the room, "First, please find me a room. I'm too tired and want to rest early."

The auntie slapped her forehead, as if suddenly realizing, "Come, Auntie will find you a spacious and bright room!"

Saying that, she grabbed a set of keys and squeezed out from behind the counter.

Climbing up the creaking stairs, she opened the door to one of the sun-facing rooms. There was a musty smell inside. The window was only half the size of a normal window, and it had a crack.

Fortunately, there was an en-suite bathroom, but the smell inside was really unpleasant.

Seeing Xiao Xun frown, the auntie asked, "Do you want me to change it for you?"

"It doesn't matter, I'm only staying for one night. I'll make do. Can it be cheaper?"

Xiao Xun added this sentence. The auntie smiled, "I'm just looking after the shop, so I can't really give discounts. How about this? Auntie sees that it's not easy for you young people to venture out. Eating instant noodles isn't healthy either. Auntie cooked a lot of food, I'll give you a meal. It's good to meet a fellow countryman when you're out, I'll help if I can."

"Then thank you, Auntie."

He casually threw the bag containing his computer and the items bought from the convenience store onto the white bedsheet, took the keys from the auntie, and followed her to the small room behind the inn's counter, which had only one bed.

The room didn't smell very good. A portable stove was stewing pickled fish, and a rice cooker was filled with rice.

Xiao Xun looked at the pickled fish and thought, I thought it was braised pork, and it kept saying "right, right, right."

However, he had always heard online that meat in Country H was very expensive. For an auntie at a small inn to afford a fish was already something.

Unexpectedly, the auntie put the pickled fish aside, took a small pot from under the bed, which was filled with pork and vermicelli stew, "Here, look at this big portion, isn't it generous? Try Auntie's cooking."

What Xiao Xun didn't know was that under the bed from which the small pot was taken, there was a hidden door.

That door alone could withstand the shock wave of a nuclear explosion equivalent to 800,000 tons of TNT, and it was filled with weapons, ammunition, first-aid supplies, and sufficient fresh water and food.

Xiao Xun ate his fill to his heart's content. Seeing Xiao Xun eat, the auntie said with concern, "You must have been hungry! My child, why did you come here alone? Can't you make a living doing something in your hometown?"

Xiao Xun sighed, "I owe a lot of usury loans, so I had no choice but to flee abroad. But who would want to suffer like this if they had enough to eat?"

The auntie nodded, "Yes! Who would want to suffer like this, not understand the language, and not know anyone. Child, whenever you want, you can come here. Auntie always has food. Don't think meat is expensive in Country H, we can afford it."

Xiao Xun didn't say much more. After eating, he stood up, "Then I'll go rest. I'm too tired today."

The auntie waved her hand, "Go ahead! If you need anything, just say the word, and I'll definitely sort it out for you."
