Li Haochen changed the bait in the trap box and threw the crab cage back into the sea.
He cleaned the deck, took a shower, and then lay down to rest.
He woke up naturally after a good night's sleep. After washing up, he went to the deck and practiced the Compendium of Materia Medica for half an hour. Just as he was preparing breakfast, he received a call from Murong Yanran. "You're not home?"
"You guys weren't back yesterday, so I took the boat out fishing. I didn't go too far though, and I'll be back soon. Do we still have a day of reception?"
"No need. The people from the Sailing Country have already left. They probably have other plans, but they paid in full. Oh, and they bought all the remaining abalone, a million each! You're rich, hee hee!"
Li Haochen stumbled, almost bumping into the red-hot stove beside him. He broke out in a cold sweat. If he had been burned, his face would have been ruined.
"A million each? That's outrageously inhuman."
"I won't talk anymore. I'm heading back to the hotel first."
Shortly after hanging up the phone, Li Haochen received a bank transfer notification. Looking at his balance felt like a dream: 100,086,952.71. A nine-digit number, a small goal that would be an insurmountable chasm for most people in their lifetime.
"Sigh~~"
Li Haochen sighed heavily. If it weren't for the family tragedy that led to him acquiring the space, he wouldn't have had these subsequent encounters.
If he could choose again, he would rather have none of this, as long as his parents were alive. But was that possible? Perhaps this was the saying that fortune lies on the other side of misfortune, and misfortune is the foundation of fortune.
Li Haochen fell into deep sadness. If it weren't for the pungent smell of burnt breakfast, he might have stayed lost for the entire day.
"It's already happened. I should live well and cherish everything I have now."
Li Haochen regained his composure, re-cooked breakfast, and after eating, put on his gloves, went out to the deck, and untied the ropes of the crab cages.
Perhaps heaven knew he was feeling down, as the very first cage gave him a big surprise: three large yellow croakers, weighing two to three pounds each, were swimming around in panic.
Li Haochen's face lit up with joy. He quickly grabbed a net, scooped them up, and placed them in the space sea to keep them alive.
Li Haochen planned to eat these large yellow croakers. He hadn't tasted their freshness yet.
There was no need to breed them for reproduction, as there were already several in his space sea, and they likely had babies. He just didn't know where they were hiding.
Leaving the space, he continued to collect the fish cages. The harvest was decent: over ten palm-sized black seabreams, as well as quite a few siganus and gold-lined sea breams. They were small fry, but there were many of them.
The crab cages also performed well, yielding four mud crabs and five blue swimmer crabs, all of substantial size. The eel cage, however, was empty, which Li Haochen hadn't expected.
All the catches were placed in the space sea. A small portion was kept outside, as even small gains add up. As long as he continued to bring marine life into the space, Li Haochen believed that one day the space sea would become a vast and resource-rich fishing ground.
Exiting the space, Li Haochen tidied up the crab cages, cleaned the deck, and then weighed anchor.
Before the Xingchen could pick up speed, a law enforcement speedboat shot out from the side. Li Haochen had to stop and wait for them to board for inspection.
"Hello, here are our credentials. Please present your driver's license and qualification certificate."
There were two people conducting the boarding inspection. One of them opened the recorder on his chest and showed his identification. The other stared intently at Li Haochen, perhaps fearing a sudden attack or something similar.
"Okay, please wait a moment." With that, Li Haochen turned to walk towards the cabin. The two enforcement officers, of course, did not let Li Haochen go in alone and immediately followed him.
After checking Li Haochen's relevant documents and conducting a thorough inspection of the entire ship, confirming the absence of any prohibited items or protected endangered species, they smiled at Li Haochen and said, "Mr. Li, thank you very much for your cooperation. Sorry to have bothered you!"
"It is our duty as citizens. Thank you for your hard work."
After seeing off the enforcement team, Li Haochen set sail again. In just over an hour, he returned to the dock. After tidying up and calling the cleaning company to drain the wastewater, he took his electric scooter home.
On his way home, he received a call from Huang Haibo, who said the warehouse and dormitory had been renovated. Li Haochen had to change his route.
Upon arriving at the warehouse, Huang Haibo was already packing up his tools. Seeing Li Haochen arrive, he wiped his hands with a rag and said, "Haochen, go inside and see if you're satisfied."
"Okay."
Despite their familiarity, Li Haochen was clear about business matters. He wouldn't skip the inspection just because he was acquainted with Huang Haibo.
Li Haochen first inspected the warehouse, examining it from top to bottom. The concealment was excellent, and he had no complaints.
The rooms were satisfactory, clean, bright, and simple. Considering it wasn't professional renovation, the quality was commendable.
"Uncle Bo, you did a great job."
Seeing Li Haochen's satisfaction, Huang Haibo breathed a sigh of relief.
"I'm glad you're happy. By the way, the stainless steel nets for the Butterfly Bay have arrived. According to your request, we've already started drilling holes and installing the funnel strips. We should be able to start construction the day after tomorrow."
"So soon? That's great."
Li Haochen was also very pleased with the progress of the Butterfly Bay project. Coupled with the completion of the warehouse building, everything was now ready.
After Huang Haibo left, Li Haochen wanted to call Dai Changrun immediately but eventually gave up. After all, the renovations had just been completed. Although the materials were environmentally friendly, it was best to let them air out for a few days before moving in. Furthermore, the appliances hadn't been purchased yet.
Li Haochen left the warehouse and went to the bank to pay the remaining balance for Butterfly Bay. He disliked owing money.
After leaving the bank, he went straight to the appliance store.
About ten minutes later, Li Haochen parked his electric scooter and walked inside. The variety of items was endless, dazzling his eyes. Fortunately, he already had a shopping list in mind.
"Midea rice cooker, Crown electric stew pot, Ronshen refrigerator, Gree air conditioner..."
He purchased three sets of everything. It cost quite a bit, but these were necessary investments. As the saying goes, if you want the horse to run, you must feed it well.
Having bought so many appliances at once, Li Haochen immediately became a VIP guest of the appliance store. Therefore, the store arranged for delivery and free installation of the air conditioners.
Even though the installation was free, Li Haochen gave each of the workers a fifty yuan red envelope.
After everything was installed and he had cleaned up the packaging boxes and bags, it was almost six o'clock.
Upon returning home, Murong Yanran and Xie Baolian were already busy in the kitchen preparing dinner. Li Haochen sneaked into the space and took out the three large yellow croakers.
"You're back! And you have fish? Perfect, we didn't buy any meat for tonight."
Xie Baolian took the net bag from Li Haochen and placed it directly on the cutting board. After sharpening her knife a few times, just as she was about to start, Murong Yanran next to her exclaimed, "Lar... Large yellow croakers!"
