Huo Residence!
Li Haochen walked out alone, standing by the garden and gazing at the distant sea, his mind filled with thoughts.
From obtaining the space until now, everything had gone smoothly. Although his business wasn't massive, it had achieved some success. Coupled with the over a hundred million cash he had before, his mindset had indeed changed significantly.
This incident made him realize a fact: this world is vast, and whoever has the bigger fist holds the greater say. And the size of the fist is determined by one word – money!
"Truly a frog in a well. I used to think my achievements were already amazing, but I never expected this... It's time to work hard and make money, hehe!"
"Mr. Li seems to be in a good mood!"
Huo Ziyan's arrival startled Li Haochen. He quickly smiled and said, "Because your family's place is so beautiful, it can't help but lift one's spirits, hehe!"
"If Mr. Li likes it, you can stay for two more days,嘻嘻!"
Li Haochen knew this was just politeness. It was already a stroke of luck that they could come here to take refuge; he couldn't brazenly stay for a few more days.
However, the Huo family helping him so much left Li Haochen a bit puzzled. They had no connection to money or power, and while there was a bit of attraction, it shouldn't be the reason. Here, Huo Ziyan could find any man she wanted.
"Is it just because of that incident on the day of the report that they feel guilty? That seems a bit far-fetched, doesn't it?"
"Rumble~"
As Li Haochen was pondering this, a powerful roar echoed through the air. Looking up, he guessed it was Huo Ying returning.
"Mr. Li, my grandfather is back. Let's go inside."
As Huo Ziyan and Li Haochen entered the villa, Huo Ying walked in.
Seeing Liu Qinghe present, Huo Ying was not surprised. He merely nodded slightly and called Huo Ziyan and Li Haochen upstairs to the study.
"Grandpa, how did it go?"
Upon entering, Huo Ziyan anxiously asked. This involved her private savings of one hundred million. She had saved it for a long time, and if she couldn't get it back, she would cry for days and nights.
"Alas..."
Seeing Huo Ying sigh, Huo Ziyan's spirits sank by half. With a distressed expression, she muttered, "It's over, it's over, my private savings!"
"Alright, your private savings are fine. Let's see if you dare to mess around in the future!"
"Really?"
Regaining what was lost, Huo Ziyan immediately became cheerful, hugged Huo Ying, and gave him a few kisses, "Grandpa, I love you to death,嘻嘻!"
"You little girl, no manners. Take it."
Huo Ying handed over a check for one hundred fifty million HKD, which delighted Huo Ziyan. She was undoubtedly a little money-grubber.
"Young friend, this one is yours."
Similarly, Huo Ying handed Li Haochen a check, but the amount was different, significantly higher than Huo Ziyan's, reaching one hundred seventy million HKD.
Li Haochen accepted the check, equally overjoyed, though not as exaggerated as Huo Ziyan. He quickly calmed down, bowed gratefully to Huo Ying, and said, "Elder Huo, thank you!"
"No need for such formality, young friend. What are your plans next?"
"I've been out for several days now and miss home. It's time to return."
"It's getting late. How about having dinner and then I'll send you back to Zhuhai?"
"I'm bothering you!"
After dinner, Li Haochen thanked Huo Ying and Huo Ziyan again before boarding the helicopter they had prepared with Liu Qinghe.
The helicopter slowly ascended. Li Haochen felt a wave of emotion. This place had given him unpleasant experiences, but also very good ones.
Before long, the helicopter disappeared into the dark night sky.
Inside Huo Ying's study, Huo Ziyan asked with great curiosity, "Grandpa, I rarely see you care so much about an outsider. What's special about him that attracts you? Don't tell me you're vetting a grandson-in-law for me; I'm not stupid."
"Take a look at this!"
Huo Ying pushed a folder towards her. If Li Haochen were here, he would have been terrified, because this folder was entirely about him, detailing his life from childhood to the present, very comprehensively.
Huo Ziyan read it carefully for about ten minutes, then closed the folder and said, "His background is quite pitiable, but he's very lucky. He also has feelings of patriotism and love for his hometown. His few small businesses have achieved some success. For someone his age to have this kind of career is quite good."
Huo Ying walked to the window with his hands behind his back, looking at the bustling city in the distance, a smile on his face. "You still lack experience. Your vision is not far-reaching enough, hehe!"
"Oh, Grandpa, does he have any extraordinary qualities?"
"Figure it out yourself. I'm tired, hahaha!"
"Hmph, if you don't say it, you don't say it. I, a genius with high intelligence, can't figure it out?"
Watching Huo Ziyan leave, Huo Ying smiled inwardly, "Perhaps this grandson-in-law is a good candidate, hehe!"
About half an hour later, Li Haochen and Liu Qinghe finally returned
to Zhuhai. Back here, seeing the motorbikes shuttling back and forth on the streets, they felt a sense of security.
"Director Liu, how will you get back?"
"I'll stay here for the night and return tomorrow; it's a bit late."
Li Haochen still felt uneasy. Although they were back here, it was very easy to cross the border from the other side. He worried that they might follow and cause trouble.
"Director Liu, why don't you come to the boat with me? I'm not comfortable with you staying here alone. It won't be much farther to return from my place tomorrow."
"Alright, it'll be more reassuring to have someone to look out for."
Liu Qinghe thought about it and felt that staying with Li Haochen was more stable, at least to have an extra person to rely on if anything happened.
Li Haochen hailed a taxi, and within ten minutes, they arrived at Jiuzhou Port.
The two moved their luggage onto the boat. Li Haochen went to pay the fees and simultaneously called for a fuel tanker to refuel. However, Li Haochen didn't plan to fill it up completely, as it would take too long. He felt it was better to leave quickly. Fortunately, it wasn't very far back to Binhai from here, and after more than ten minutes of fueling, it was almost enough. Combined with the remaining fuel, there was more than enough for the round trip.
After the oil tanker left, the water tanks were also filled. After paying, Li Haochen ran back to the cabin and quickly started the engine. Soon, the "Stardust" slowly set sail.
As the speed increased, Li Haochen did not head directly towards Binhai. Instead, he sailed in the opposite direction for a period before taking a large detour to return to the normal shipping route.
And after Li Haochen and his group left the pier, a small team did arrive at Jiuzhou Port. After searching for a long time without spotting their target, the leader made a phone call and then led his men away.
In a high-class club in Hong Kong, a man with a crew cut said disappointedly into the phone, "Dazhi, my subordinates said the targets had already left when they arrived. Should we continue the pursuit?"
"I didn't expect them to be so alert. Forget it, they're just small fry. Don't waste time, especially since things are handled differently over there than here."
Unbeknownst to Li Haochen, his foresight had allowed them to narrowly escape a disaster.
