Flowers Bloom in 19 States

Chapter 635: Guilt

Miao Xin walked out of the palace gate, her heart involuntarily sour, filled with a complex mix of emotions that tormented her.

She had always believed that it was Lin Mo who had taken her first time and had persistently denied it, refusing to admit the truth.

She had not expected that she completely misunderstood Lin Mo and even slapped him at one point.

Moreover, when Lin Mo absorbed the power of the Divine Wood, she had almost struck him with her palm, which could have caused him to encounter a Deviation.

Thinking of this, Miao Xin felt a trace of fear. Had she truly done so, she would likely have regretted it for the rest of her life.

Her heart was overwhelmed by a complexity of emotions, utterly consuming her consciousness, and without realizing it, she found herself in the Medicine Garden at the back of the Miao Xue Divine Palace, where faint scents of herbs drifted in the air.

But the Medicine Garden was surrounded by an Array to prevent the essence of the herbs from dissipating. The fragrance was only noticeable within the garden and utterly undetectable once outside.

"Sigh."

Miao Xin stood at the center of the empty Medicine Garden, unfolding her fair right hand to reveal a small silver ring shaped like a crescent moon, engraved with strange magic symbols.

This ring was a gift from Lin Mo, which had saved her life when Gongyang Zhi was about to kill her.

She had lived inside the Miao Xue Divine Palace for over twenty years without ever going out. Had it not been for her Master's instruction to seek out the Mo Yu Flower, she might never have had the chance to step into the mortal world.

Yet, within her, Miao Xin felt a very strange sensation; when she met Lin Mo, there was an oddly familiar feeling, as if they had known each other for a long time.

"Could it really be that I know him?" Miao Xin shook her head. Lin Mo always treated her like his wife. Perhaps she simply bore a striking resemblance to his wife.

Just as she was feeling uneasy, suddenly, a voice came from behind.

"Silly girl, what are you thinking about?"

The voice was soft and gentle.

Miao Xin quickly hid the small silver ring and turned around to see a woman in her early forties approaching her, looking in her early thirties due to fine upkeep, her skin and features exceptionally beautiful, with a gentle smile on her face. Those black eyes looked at Miao Xin with a hint of doting affection.

"Aunt Mei, you walk so quietly, you startled me," Miao Xin said with a smile, after composing herself.

"You have reached the level of Martial God, how could you not hear my footsteps? I think you're preoccupied," Aunt Mei spoke, her gaze burning intensely as if she could see right into the depths of her heart.

Miao Xin looked down, biting her thin lips, "Yes, I am a bit troubled."

Aunt Mei was named Su Mei and belonged to the Miao Xue Divine Palace, specifically in charge of guarding the Medicine Garden. She was amiable and showed particular kindness towards Miao Xin. Thus, Miao Xin was very close to Aunt Mei, seeking her out to chat and relieve her worries whenever she was reprimanded by her Master.

"Tell me about it, did you encounter something fun on your recent trip?" Su Mei asked, already holding her hand and walking towards a nearby bamboo house.

Miao Xin sat on the bamboo chair, hesitated for a while, and felt that she couldn't tell anyone about the things on her mind, especially not her master. As for that girl Miao Zhu, she was such a blabbermouth; telling her would be like informing the entire Miao Xue Divine Palace.

Thus, Miao Xin told Aunt Su Mei about her trip in great detail and then furrowed her delicate brows, "Aunt Mei, I always feel like I recognize him. Could it be that I met him during the time I've forgotten?"

After saying this, Miao Xin fixed her intense gaze on Su Mei.

Miao Xin had only heard from her master that she had been an orphan since she was young and had been taken in by the Miao Xue Divine Palace, but now, much of her memory was very blurry, and her childhood memories had completely vanished.

However, the master said it was because she had suffered a severe injury while training, which caused her to lose a part of her memory.

After listening to her story, Su Mei's brows knitted together, and a trace of unusual color flashed in the depths of her eyes. "Silly girl, you've always lived in the Miao Xue Divine Palace, how could you know anyone, let alone a man? Perhaps because it was your first time going outside and you encountered some dangers, you developed a sense of dependence on others. It's this feeling of dependency that's making you believe you're familiar with him."

Su Mei's brow smoothed out as she said this with a light laugh.

Miao Xin was stunned for a moment and then showed a helpless smile, "Maybe that's the case."

"Don't overthink it, silly girl. Focus on practicing well within the Divine Palace. You and that man won't have a chance to meet again in the future, and naturally, you'll forget about him," Su Mei spoke up.

"Yes, I won't have the chance to see him again. If there is a chance, though, I'd like to say sorry to him," Miao Xin sighed.

"Aunt Mei, I'm going to rest now. I'll come to visit you when I'm free."

After Miao Xin spoke, she got up and left the bamboo house.

Watching Miao Xin's retreating figure, Su Mei frowned slightly, "Lin Mo, I absolutely won't allow you to appear in her world again."

Having said that, Su Mei clenched her fist, "Only the Palace Master of the Miao Xue Divine Palace can save Meng Die. As long as she doesn't leave the Divine Palace, everything will be fine."

There weren't many disciples within the Divine Palace, roughly only fifty or sixty people. Some were direct disciples, while others were new disciples. Each disciple was assigned different rooms according to their level, but one thing they all had in common was that all the disciples of the Divine Palace were women.

Miao Xin's room was different from the others because only her room was surrounded by these conditions, as she had been chosen as the Goddess by the Palace Master. Ordinary disciples were not allowed to enter the area around her house.

Therefore, coupled with Miao Xin's somewhat cold nature, all the disciples of the Divine Palace only had a better relationship with Miao Zhu. Other people regarded her with awe.

This situation made Miao Xin feel very lonely at times; she wanted to play and frolic like the other disciples.

When she returned to her room, suddenly, a fluffy white thing leaped into her arms.

"Little guy, we haven't seen each other in so long, did you miss me?" Miao Xin caressed the soft little creature in her arms, her face showing a hint of joy that radiated brilliant light.

One could say that it was rare for anyone in the entire Miao Xue Divine Palace to see her smiling so happily.

As it turned out, what had jumped into her arms was a snow-white little ferret, gazing at her with a pair of shiny black eyes, constantly rubbing its head in her embrace. It seemed to have missed her dearly, having not seen her for a long time.
