Chapter 625: Chapter 560, Tang Sanzang Makes a Move
Sun Wukong roared in anger, "You impudent dragon, ruining my master’s ride and still daring to show off, watch how I deal with you now!" After speaking, he immediately charged downwards, the Jingu Bang flashing with a cold light.
Between monkey and dragon, the battle ensued in the ravine, each clash rumbling like thunder, shaking the caves, and plumes of water bombarded upwards from the pond.
After several rounds, Ao Lie couldn’t hold on; his massive dragon body suddenly shrank, turning into a streak of white lightning, darting into the cold pond.
Sun Wukong shouted, "Where do you think you’re escaping to?" He followed and plunged into the pond with a splash.
Both entered the pond, and the whole place trembled with thundering rumbles. The waters churned with giant waves, sweeping upwards, and the water level rose rapidly, almost like a deluge overtaking heaven and earth.
Tang Sanzang watched in shock, "If the water keeps rising, this monk’s in danger!" and alarmed, he called out, "Wukong!"
A golden light shot through the waves, landed in front of Tang Sanzang, and transformed into Sun Wukong’s figure; the waters of the cold pond also settled.
Tang Sanzang hurriedly asked, "Wukong, did you catch that evil dragon?"
Sun Wukong replied irritably, "That evil dragon is cunning, hiding in the waters of the pond, stirring the undercurrents of the earth veins. For the moment, I can’t subdue him."
Tang Sanzang said annoyed, "What should we do now? My mechanical carriage is destroyed!"
Unable to help blaming Sun Wukong, he said, "You always brag about how capable you are, that subduing dragons and taming tigers is a breeze for you. How come today you can’t even capture an evil dragon?"
Sun Wukong retorted displeased, "Little monk, speaking such heartless words, I, old Sun, am helping you recover your losses, yet you complain about me?
Great wisdom is broad and open-minded; petty intelligence is nitpicky. Grand statements are impressive and lofty; trivial words are endless and petty. You are exactly like that, unaware of the consequences of that demon dragon stirring the currents of the underworld, yet you complain about powerlessness."
"What do you mean?"
"Those of great wisdom are always expansive and tolerant; petty cleverness always counts every minor detail; statements in accord with the great Tao are always awe-inspiring, while petty wit is endlessly trivial and nitpicky."
Tang Sanzang, as if enlightened, said, "That makes sense!"
Suddenly coming back to his senses, he angrily exclaimed, "Wukong, how dare you say your master is trivial and nitpicky without end."
"You keep mourning your mechanical carriage; I, old Sun, will go and meet that sin dragon again." Sun Wukong immediately soared into the air.
At South Sea Luo Jia Mountain, Guanyin Bodhisattva sat among the bamboo grove weaving a basket, turned her head toward the east and smiled, "The first share of my merit has already been obtained."
Sun Wukong stood atop the ravine, hefting his iron staff as if to overturn rivers and seas, but the White Dragon, as if dead, allowed Sun Wukong to stir however he wanted without showing its head.
Thunderous water cascaded down the ravines, the surrounding twin peaks trembling as if quaking, the skies and land changing colors, and the birds and beasts fled in panic.
Tang Sanzang, supporting the damaged mechanical carriage, struggled to keep his balance and avoid falling.
Seeing the irreparably ruined mechanical carriage, Tang Sanzang felt a wave of sadness; it symbolized the bond between him and Emperor Tang, it was once the mechanical mount that saved his life, and yet now, it was destroyed by that evil dragon to such an extent, how lamentable!
Recalling how he rode the mechanical man and subdued tigers and shook evils with an invincible presence, a surge of hot-blooded heroism welled up in his heart. What kind of man isn’t impassioned?!
Tang Sanzang muttered to himself, "This monkey cannot be relied upon. The scriptures say: ’The Vajra glares fiercely to subdue the four demons; the Bodhisattva lowers her gaze to show compassion toward the six paths.
Today, this monk will be the Angry-eyed Vajra."
With an excited heart, Tang Sanzang extended his hand, pulling out the Three Realms Mall from his bosom, and dialed to the Magic Treasure rental section.
""
The homepage’s big promotion featured four ferocious swords overflowing with killing intent. The description below read, "Extermination Immortal Sword Formation, the most lethal Sword Array of the Primordial World. Once the formation is complete, it absorbs the endless malignant energies of the Primordial World, possessing the supreme power to obliterate all creation."
Beside the four swords were several lines of poetry: "Not made of copper, nor iron, nor steel, once hidden beneath Sumeru Mountain. No need for Yin Yang reversed refinement, could it lack the edge sharpened by water and fire? Slaying Immortals sharp, slaughtering Immortals dead, trapping Immortals as red light glows every place. The changes of slaying immortals are infinitely wondrous, as even the robes of Daluo Immortals are stained with blood."
Indeed, the four Immortal Swords were brimming with a killing aura.
Tang Sanzang subconsciously chanted, "Amitabha Buddha~ The weapon capable of destroying the Primordial World, how could there be something so terrifying? I hope this sword array will never be rented out."
Tang Sanzang skipped the homepage altogether; he couldn’t afford to rent any of the Magic Treasures recommended there.
Tang Sanzang scrolled through the screen rapidly, with each Magic Treasure catching his eye.
Chaotic Heart Dust, a red pearl the size of a bowl, confounding people’s spirits.
Nail-Head Seven Arrows Book, a Curse Technique.
Fainting Sword, a sinister Divine Sword, its blade like a dazzling whirlpool, capable of extinguishing the enemy’s soul.
Wind Bag, containing all kinds of divine winds, could whittle bones and obliterate souls.
Fire Dragon Dart, a Hidden Flying Dart, smoke appears with its release, just like a Fire Dragon soaring, hitting its target every single time.
...
The Great Sun dipped in the west, as the forests at sunset were coated in a layer of gold, extraordinarily beautiful. Within this beautiful forest, mist rose and a rumbling sound, like muffled thunder, persisted.
Sun Wukong stood in mid-air, furiously shouting, "Evil Dragon, come out for your Grandpa Sun! If you don’t, your Grandpa Sun will demolish this ravine and bury you under these massive mountains."
"If you’re capable, then just do it!" A profound voice from the bottom of the ravine came from Little White Dragon.
Suddenly a voice arose, "Wukong, cease your recklessness!"
Sun Wukong abruptly turned his head to locate the voice, and saw Tang Sanzang standing atop a large corpse halfway up the mountain, holding a piece of green gauze in his hand and wearing a Kasaya that fluttered in the wind, his aura otherworldly and imposing.
Sun Wukong shouted loudly, "Little monk, go play on the side, your Grandpa Sun is determined to subdue this Evil Dragon."
Tang Sanzang solemnly roared, "Wukong, step back and watch your master’s methods.
You wayward Evil Dragon, cease your murderous intent and stop causing harm. Today, witness this poor monk’s technique of subduing demons.
Namo Amitabha Buddha!"
Tang Sanzang tossed the green gauze forward, and as it unfurled it shrouded the sky like a layer of thin fog, within which one could faintly discern a green net.
The mist descended towards the cold pond below.
Upon South Sea Luo Jia Mountain, Guanyin Bodhisattva suddenly stood up, yelling in shock and anger, "Mist and Dew Qiankun Net?! Damn it, Long Ji is actually competing with this impoverished monk for Merit!" No longer able to sit still, her figure vanished in an instant.
Sun Wukong’s eyes lit up, surprised he said, "A Magic Treasure?!" A flicker of confusion crossed his mind. How could this little monk possess a Magic Treasure?
Inside the cold pond, turmoil arose as a huge dragon tail emerged, with a thunderous crash it slammed into the cliffside, covered by a layer of green net.
Tang Sanzang’s figure staggered, nearly falling over, he hastily climbed down from the boulder, shouting, "Wukong, quickly retrieve the net!"
Sun Wukong made a snap decision, plunging immediately towards the cold pond.
