Chapter 324: Troublemakers

Chapter 324: Troublemakers

"I would like to look around a little." Killian turned and spoke to Lisa. He noticed how the woman’s eyes turned wide before the pupils went small. It happened for just a microsecond but he was sharp enough to catch it. However, he pretended not to know when the woman hitched her smile and nodded. "Of course. You can take a look around as you want, Alpha Sokolov."

Killian smiled back. Shooting her a wink, he praised Lisa with all the charm that he could muster, "Thats the ticket sweetheart." And despite whatever warning that was given to Lisa, the woman blushed under his tricks.

You really know how to play a woman like a piano.

I don’t. I only praise them, its their fault that they believe whatever I feed them.

You are heartless.

I never pretended to be not.

"Lisa can you come with me," noticing the weird atmosphere, Drakon turned to look at the woman who was slowly forgetting herself.

Lisa glanced at him, her eyes filled with reluctance but she still nodded and followed the man. Killian waited for the two of them to walk away, before turning to look at Finn. "I never knew that you were this good at picking up my pick up lines."

Finn paused in his actions of wiping his fingers with a wet wipe that he had summoned from his back pocket. He turned his head up, "I didn’t want to do this in the first place. But you asked me to do it, now don’t complain about how I get this thing done. You know I am not much of a ladies man."

"I am not complaining." Killian started walking towards the other end of the corridor and dropped his voice. "What do you think of this place?"

Finn glanced over his shoulder. His charming smiled faded as he replied in a quiet voice, "I did take a look around this house and the territory. Nothing out of the ordinary can be detected for the time being. I have been paying attention to these people and they have not prepared any sort of traps for us."

"But..."

"But?"

"But there is no way that this territory is their real one." He flicked a look at the bare walls of the mansion. "Those statements that they made about being able to suppress and control their animal instincts.. There is something really off about them. You know its literally impossible unless the beast disappears or fades. I have never once heard about shifters who have never slipped up."

"Not to mention as you have already noticed with your witty eyes." He tapped the bare walls. "This house has been vacant for a while. They might have rushed to prepare eveyrthing in a hsort while but they clearly failed. I cannot smell the woman’s scent. They have tried to plant it, its subtle but I know that its not going her home. The scent is too weak for that."

He dragged a hand down his face. "Something is off with this pack and I cannot put my finger on it."

As the sun started to set, Inez could hear the sound of screams echoing through the prison cells. Though the prisoner who was taken away didn’t fight back, the same couldn’t be said for the others. They fought screamed. And they screamed hard. Their words still echoed in the dungeons.

I didn’t do it. I was innocent, you know I was!

"Leave me! I plead you. I did nothing wrong... I have done nothing wron..wrong... please.."

"I never killed anyone. I was schemed against. At least give me a trial before killing me! I deserve that!"

Inez didn’t know whether these people were innocent or not but from the looks of it, she knew that none of them was given a fair trial. They all had screamed the same thing. Then what about her and Scarlet would they be even given a fair shot at justice? She had a feeling that it was close to impossible. Who would care about two women who had no position or place in this rotten world?

Wow, pessimistic much?

I am not being pessimitic. Who will fight for us? Its not like Killian knows that we are here?

If he had known that she was trapped here, then he would have most probably done something anything to get her out of here, but he had no idea that she was trapped here. How could he save her when Killian didn’t even know where she was.

"It’s scary here," she heard Scarlet mutter as she watched the execution ground through the only window in their prison cell. Inez asked her why she wanted to even see such a dire sight but honestly, it was impossible for them to turn their gaze away from the sight—not when the screams were so loud.

And like Scarlet said. It was terrifying.

These people were cruel, heartless and sadistic. They didn’t just kill the criminals; they stuffed them in a cauldron with bubbling hot wolfsbane and dumped the criminals within it. It was a sight as horrible as possible.

Inez turned her head to one side, not wanting to look at the brutality.

"Don’t worry." She raised her head and saw the half-vampire who was walking towards the two of their cell. Gilderoy took a look at Inez and Scarlet, whose faces were unsightly due to the cruel sight that they had to face and smiled at them. "You two will be facing the same fate in a while."

And Inez knew that unless someone came to look for her, she would certainly face the same fate as them.

"It’s a pandemonium." Tracy clicked her tongue as she tapped on the screen of her watch. "These two idiots – why would they go off on their own when they could have just come to me?"

Well, you wouldn’t have answered them right away.

"Your musings are unheard, Tracy."

Shut up!

Tracy snapped, ignoring the mocking jeers of spirits trapped in her two owl earrings and turned the watch off.

"One is about to become a sacrifice while the other’s whereabouts are unknown... I really have no words to say."
