Chapter 276 The New Property Manager

The next morning.

Jiang Ye woke up, the quilt was extremely hot. He looked over and saw Tian Rao still sleeping soundly.

He reached out and touched her forehead. Her temperature had returned to normal.

Jiang Ye wasn't hungry. He got up, put on his clothes, and quietly left the base vehicle, heading straight for the Ant Realty building.

The receptionist was the same one as before. As soon as she saw Jiang Ye, she came forward.

"Are you here to see President Xu?" the receptionist asked.

"Yes."

"I'm sorry, President Xu is quite ill. She had a fever of thirty-nine degrees and left an hour ago," the receptionist said apologetically.

Jiang Ye was stunned. Left?

"Who left?"

"Don't say such things, girl! Don't scare me!"

"Where did she go?" Jiang Ye asked.

"Leng An Star, it's also the closest planet to here. There's a hospital there. President Xu went for treatment. She'll only return after she's cured," the receptionist explained. "Headquarters has sent another manager, named Leia Elizabeth. You can talk to her about business cooperation."

Leia Elizabeth. Jiang Ye nodded. "Where is she?"

"She's already in the top floor office. I'll take you up," the receptionist said.

They took the elevator straight to the top floor. The receptionist knocked on the office door. "Manager Leia, General Jiang is here."

A casual voice from inside said, "Come in."

The receptionist opened the door, and Jiang Ye walked in.

By the window stood a woman with an incredibly trendy style. She had permed, messy short hair, half brown and half red. Her top was a nearly completely transparent sheer jacket over a black sports bra, her chest practically bursting out. Her lower half was baggy pants covered in round silver sequins that sparkled.

Leia had her hands in her pockets, her stance arrogant.

Jiang Ye couldn't help but be taken aback. He had expected a professionally dressed, upright manager, not such a bizarrely fashionable person.

Leia was also sizing him up, glancing him up and down. Her brow furrowed, her expression full of arrogance and disdain. "You're really the General? You dress so shabbily when you go out? You must be the General of the Beggar's Sect!"

Jiang Ye looked down at himself. He was dressed simply today, shorts, T-shirt, and sneakers, but it seemed normal to him. What was so shabby about it?

"Are you filling in for Xu Yan?" Jiang Ye, too lazy to waste time with her, got straight to the point. "Can I place an order with you?"

"Place an order?" Leia stared at him with contempt. "How much money do you have?"

"Hey, who are you looking down on?" Jiang Ye sat down. "Your attitude is wrong. The customer is God."

"The wealthy are God. If you don't have money, don't act like a big shot. I have a principle: I don't take orders below ten billion. If you want to buy a small broken house or something, go to the receptionist. Don't waste my time," Leia said, glancing at him and snorting through her nose.

Jiang Ye was astonished. What era was this, that people judged others by their clothes?

However, he didn't care. She was just a temporary sales manager. It wasn't worth getting angry with her.

"Do you know about the Jumping Worms?" Jiang Ye asked calmly.

"Yes."

"I want to build a Jumping Worm farm. Do you have any ready-made plans?" Jiang Ye asked. "It needs to accommodate at least several hundred adult Jumping Worms."

"You can forget about that," Leia said, looking out the window.

"Why?"

"Jumping Worms are very difficult to transport remotely. You can't get stock from other planets unless you have live specimens yourself. But this thing is notoriously hard to catch. With the development level of your colony, it's impossible to catch live specimens."

"I have live specimens," Jiang Ye said calmly.

This time, Leia was surprised. She turned to look at him. "How many?"

"As many as you need," Jiang Ye said. "I already have one. Once the farm is built, I'll catch more."

"I don't care if you're the General. If you're lying, I'll put you on the blacklist immediately," Leia said contemptuously. "You really have live specimens?"

"If you don't believe me, you can come and see for yourself," Jiang Ye said, speechless. Why did this woman look down on him so much?

Leia finally moved away from the window and sat down opposite the desk, resting her feet on it, still with a look of arrogance.

"A Jumping Worm farm is simple. You just use strong gel to wrap the Jumping Worm's body, fix it to the ground, and then reinforce it with special cement walls.

"The entire Jumping Worm will have only its head and tail exposed. Besides that, there's a constant temperature air conditioning system and an automatic alarm system. This is a single unit farm," Leia said, flexing her fingers as if calculating. "I'm filling in, and I don't get a commission, so I'll give you the cost price. Each farm is twenty million."

Jiang Ye quickly calculated. The farm wasn't expensive. It would pay for itself in a few days!

"However, I still have that principle: I don't take orders below ten billion," Leia said, flexing her slender fingers. "If you want to build, build fifty farms at once. Do you have the money?"

"I only have five hundred million on hand for now," Jiang Ye said.

Leia suddenly laughed, as if she had uncovered something. She shook her head and stood up, returning to the window to look outside.

"Don't go. Five hundred million isn't bad. That can build twenty-five farms," Jiang Ye frowned. "I need them urgently. Can you build them?"

"If you don't have money, don't waste my time!" Leia said without looking at him. "Let me be clear: I don't get a commission, so I'm too lazy to do small projects. I'm just here to relax for a couple of days and can't be bothered to do any work.

"Xu Yan will be back in at most three days. In three days, you definitely won't have ten billion. After I leave, she should be willing to deal with poor guys like you. You can find her then."

Jiang Ye was truly getting angry now, veins bulging on his forehead.

"Who does business like this? From the moment I walked in, she's been mocking the customer. Is this the attitude of a businesswoman?"

"If your attitude was better, asking for a commission would be understandable!"

"What are you still sitting there for? Let's go," Leia said, turning back. "I don't like people pretending to be rich. They talk about having money, but they can't even come up with ten billion."

Jiang Ye glared at her, not wanting to argue.

He got up and left.

"Don't come back," Leia yawned from behind him. "You're disturbing my rest."

Jiang Ye took the elevator down. In the elevator, he made up his mind. He wasn't in a hurry for the farms these few days. If Leia wasn't going to serve him, he didn't want to come anyway.

"General Jiang!"

Just as Jiang Ye was about to leave, he turned around. The receptionist had chased after him.

"Why aren't you happy? Did the business not go well? I can help you," the receptionist asked.

"What kind of person is that Leia? She's so rude, saying she won't do projects under ten billion, and she called me a pauper," Jiang Ye said, extremely annoyed. "With her quality, how can she be a sales manager?"

"Oh, please don't be angry. Leia is quite famous. Many people dislike her," the receptionist explained. "She's incredibly lazy and wishes no one would approach her for projects. She also has a bad temper. She scolded me as soon as she arrived this morning."

"Unacceptable!" Jiang Ye sighed. "President Xu is so much better."

The receptionist glanced around, then leaned in and whispered, "Do you want to get back at her?"
