Chapter 126 A Look at the Legs

Jiang Ye clicked on [Livestock Assistant].

He directly bought hens, increasing the quantity to 50!

Clicking purchase, a prompt popped up on the screen:

[Limited-time promotion! Buy 50 more chickens to reach wholesale prices, 30 yuan per chicken!]

Jiang Ye did some quick calculations. It was worth it!

He increased the quantity to one hundred and purchased.

The transaction bay flashed with a crackle, and piles upon piles of hens poured out like a spring.

Each hen was bound by a thin rope, unable to move, but capable of clucking. A chorus of one hundred chickens filled the entire base with clucking sounds.

Jiang Ye picked up the sacks and stuffed the hens into them.

Soon, over a dozen sacks completely filled the floor of the base's first level.

Jiang Ye placed two assault rifles on the passenger seat, arranged all the magazines, and brought ten blood grenades. If he encountered any wild beasts on the way, this firepower should be sufficient. Even if it wasn't enough, with nearly a million in his account balance, he could always deploy a six-barreled Gatling gun.

He slid into the driver's seat, fastened his seatbelt, and stepped on the accelerator to hit the road!

The base vehicle roared to life, leaving the beach and charging onto the soft earth, leaving clear tire tracks.

Jiang Ye controlled the vehicle's speed, his foot alternately pressing and easing off the accelerator.

He drove all the way back.

The scenery along the way was still the same, incredibly desolate, with sand dunes and rocks. The ground color shifted from yellowish-brown to black, with occasional patches of red earth.

Occasionally, he would see an animal skeleton, perhaps a beast that had died in a flood, its flesh long since decomposed over these days.

It was a boundless plain. He didn't even need to steer; he could just press the accelerator and drive forward mindlessly. Jiang Ye enjoyed driving on this planet; there were no traffic rules, no cameras, and certainly no parking tickets. It gave him a sense of freedom, a feeling of being able to do whatever he pleased.

Finally, familiar buildings appeared on the horizon!

A wall, rows of warehouses, and toilet facilities.

Outside the wall, large groups of white wolves were crouched.

He was back at the old base!

Jiang Ye drove the vehicle until it was about fifty meters from the wall and then slowly stopped.

Looking out the car window, he saw over a hundred white wolves quietly crouched outside the wall.

Hearing the sound of the base vehicle, they all turned their heads, watching curiously.

Upon seeing Jiang Ye, several wolves paused, then stood up, their tails wagging gently. They seemed hesitant, as if confirming something.

Jiang Ye got out of the car and found himself directly upwind, the wind carrying his scent towards the wolf pack.

This time, all the wolves stood up, their eyes shining, and slowly approached.

Jiang Ye felt a surge of nervousness. Being approached by over a hundred wolves was certainly unnerving.

He bent down, picked up a sack, opened it, and took out a hen.

The hen, perhaps a bit oxygen-deprived from being in the bag for too long, had a dazed look. After being grabbed and held for a few seconds, it let out a loud cluck.

As soon as the wolf pack saw the hen, they bolted, rushing towards Jiang Ye's base vehicle in a frenzy!

Jiang Ye swung his arm with all his might, throwing the hen out.

Over a dozen wolves leaped up simultaneously to snatch it, creating a chaotic scene.

Jiang Ye continued to pull hens from the sacks, one after another, and threw them towards the wolf pack.

The wolf pack gathered all around the base vehicle. The closest ones were even at the entrance, their noses almost touching Jiang Ye's shoes.

However, none of the wolves attacked Jiang Ye; they were all focused on the sacks.

Jiang Ye wasn't stingy, throwing out sack after sack of hens.

He finished throwing out all one hundred hens in one go.

All the wolves grabbed their chickens, pinned them to the ground, and began to tear into them, their mouths smeared with blood. The hens' screams quickly faded, replaced by the crunching sound of bones being gnawed.

The sight of over a hundred wolves gathered around the base vehicle, eating chickens, was quite spectacular.

Jiang Ye observed these wolves closely and noticed they were completely different from the ones he had seen in winter.

In winter, the wolves had been robust, their eyes bright, and their fur sleek. But now, the wolves were all thin, their ribs even visible. Their eyes were dim, and their fur was covered in dust, making them look like beggars.

Jiang Ye pondered for a moment and seemed to understand.

In winter, there were many animals, and the wolves ate well, appearing healthy. Now, most of the animals were dead, and the wolves couldn't find food. They were starving and remembered that hens had been thrown here before, so they gathered, waiting for chickens.

The first few wolves to get a chicken had already eaten their fill, their bellies distended.

They looked up at Jiang Ye.

Then, they slowly walked over, approaching the base entrance.

Jiang Ye suppressed the urge to retreat and stood at the entrance, watching these wolves.

A total of six wolves gathered at Jiang Ye's feet.

Then, they all lay down on the ground, turned over, exposing their bellies and necks.

Oh? Jiang Ye was taken aback, then his face lit up with joy.

He didn't understand much about zoology, but judging by the wolves' actions, it seemed to express trust. After all, their necks and bellies were vital areas, not to be exposed lightly.

Gathering his courage, Jiang Ye squatted down.

He reached out and petted the wolf closest to him.

The wolf didn't struggle; instead, it narrowed its eyes, its expression one of enjoyment.

More and more wolves finished eating their chickens and gathered around, crouching or standing on all fours, wagging their tails at Jiang Ye.

Well, they've been domesticated!

Wild wolves turned into dogs!

Jiang Ye was very pleased. He walked down from the base, squatted down, and reached out his hand.

Several wolves immediately came over, burrowing into Jiang Ye's arms or licking his hand with their tongues.

Wolf fur felt very similar to dog fur, soft and comfortable to the touch. Jiang Ye became addicted to petting them, taking turns stroking the surrounding wild wolves.

"Landlord?" a timid female voice suddenly called out.

Jiang Ye looked up. A face appeared on top of the wall. It was a fair-skinned girl with short hair. She looked like a typical Japanese girl, not exceptionally beautiful, but pleasant enough to look at.

"The real estate agent?" Jiang Ye stood up.

"It's me. Are you Mr. Jiang Ye?" the real estate agent asked with a smile, her teeth not very even.

"That's right, I just arrived," Jiang Ye replied, looking down. Several small wolves were running in circles around his legs. "Don't worry, they don't attack people. They were just hungry and wanted some meat. I'll take them all with me later."

"Thank you, thank you! I'm so sorry to have caused you trouble!" the real estate agent said repeatedly, bowing ninety degrees. "I've prepared some hot tea for you. Please come in and enjoy!" As she bowed, her face disappeared behind the wall, and she poked her head back up when she straightened.

"Okay," Jiang Ye nodded, subconsciously reaching behind him to feel his assault rifle.

The real estate agent took out a long iron plate from inside. It was dark and clearly made from scrap metal from a crashed spaceship. She placed the iron plate across the outside of the wall, and Jiang Ye immediately climbed over.

Several wolves tried to follow, but Jiang Ye quickly pulled the iron plate away. The wolf pack then waited quietly outside, each wolf looking at him expectantly, their expressions seeming to say, "Come out and play."

Entering the wall, Jiang Ye patted the wolf fur off his trousers.

"I have a small request. Can I see the back of your head? And your thighs," Jiang Ye said.

The real estate agent froze, her face flushing red. Her voice became as quiet as a mosquito's buzz. "That might not be appropriate. I'm not sure I understand what you mean."
