Daughter Planet, Fu Qiuyan.
Jiang Ye glanced at the screen, and Cen Yemeng was also startled, "What could be wrong with her?"
Jiang Ye shook his head, answered the call, and immediately put on a smile, "Old Fu, it's been a while. Mengmeng was just talking about you, saying she missed her old friend. What a coincidence you called."
Cen Yemeng leaned next to Jiang Ye's phone, listening with one ear. Jiang Ye directly turned on the speakerphone.
"Don't call me Old Fu, you're making me sound old. What were you talking about me? You weren't badmouthing me, were you?" Fu Qiuyan chuckled.
"How could we? We'll beat up anyone who badmouths you," Jiang Ye said. "Are you calling to catch up or is there something else?"
"I'm planning to hold a summit, would you be willing to come?" Fu Qiuyan said.
"A summit? What's it about?"
"It's basically to get together, invite dozens of planet leaders to gather. It's been so long since we've seen each other, we should have a chat." Fu Qiuyan said, "Many of the attendees are old acquaintances, like Liu Shuzeng from Leling Star and Wen Qiurou from Zihai Star should be coming."
Jiang Ye remembered these two. Liu Shuzeng had accompanied him to see a nuclear missile silo back then, and Wen Qiurou had discussed an electricity project.
"When is it?" Jiang Ye asked.
"The day after tomorrow. Are you free?" Fu Qiuyan said. "You can come tomorrow, and I'll arrange for someone to receive you."
"The day after tomorrow?" Jiang Ye was startled, "So soon?"
"It's not that urgent. The summit is the day after tomorrow, but it will last a long time. You can come later too, but the sooner the better." Fu Qiuyan said, "The sooner we gather, the more we can discuss cooperation. Isn't the higher-up expanding beyond the galaxy? It's better for everyone to work together."
"So that's what it is." Jiang Ye nodded. "Mengmeng is taking a bath. I'll ask her if she has time when she's done."
"You two, what are you waiting for? Go into the bathroom and scrub her back to ask her," Fu Qiuyan laughed.
"Hey... it's just that..." Jiang Ye lowered his voice, "We had a little disagreement. Old married couple, you know."
"I understand. A little friction is inevitable. Lovers' quarrels end in bed. I'll wait for your good news. Let me know when you've decided to come, and I'll arrange a grand reception for you," Fu Qiuyan said with a chuckle.
"You're too kind. Then you take care. I'll try to appease her," Jiang Ye said.
The call ended.
The smile on Jiang Ye's face vanished instantly, and his brow furrowed deeply.
"Something's not right," Jiang Ye looked at his wife. "Did you feel it?"
"She's too eager," Cen Yemeng nodded. "Her eagerness is too abnormal, like a bomb is about to explode. How can such a large summit be announced the day before yesterday? She's so rushed that she's disregarding all interstellar diplomatic etiquette. This isn't just old friends visiting. She even urged you to scrub my back and ask me. That's too hasty, isn't it?"
"There must be a problem. I have a strong impression of Fu Qiuyan, and she's acting abnormally today," Jiang Ye said. "I'll ask someone from the intelligence department."
Jiang Ye dialed on his phone. Just as he was halfway through, another call suddenly came in.
Jiang Ye raised his eyebrows in surprise again. What kind of day is it that people he hasn't contacted in a long time are all calling?
Leling Star, Liu Shuzeng.
Jiang Ye answered, "Brother Liu? What's up?"
"Did Fu Qiuyan call you?" Liu Shuzeng asked immediately.
"She did, what's wrong?"
"Did she invite you to her planet for a summit?"
"Yes." Jiang Ye narrowed his eyes. "She said you were going too?"
"Don't go, absolutely don't go," Liu Shuzeng said urgently. "There's been a mutiny on her planet. The young faction wants to kill her. She's desperate now and is inviting planet leaders everywhere to trick them onto her sinking ship."
Jiang Ye's mind buzzed. The word "mutiny" hit him like a sledgehammer.
He hadn't expected Daughter Planet to have a mutiny as well.
"Is your information accurate?" Jiang Ye asked. "She asked us to go the day after tomorrow. If there's a mutiny, wouldn't it be over in a day? How could it last until the day after tomorrow?"
"It's one hundred percent accurate. Daughter Planet has spies planted by my daughter, and I'm fully aware of the current situation," Liu Shuzeng said. "The capital city of Daughter Planet has lost power and network. Thirty thousand citizens claiming to be protesting have surrounded the Governor's Mountain, which is where Fu Qiuyan is currently working. It's a complex of buildings built on a small hill, and they haven't managed to break in yet. She's trying to figure something out."
"The mutiny is ongoing. Now is the time for the commanders of Daughter Planet to take sides. Various regions are still hesitating," Liu Shuzeng continued. "The most crucial person is Chen Ruizhi, Daughter Planet's Commander-in-Chief for External Affairs. She controls one-third of the fleet, forty star-class warships, all stationed on the outskirts of the galaxy, fighting a new planet. Ten hours ago, Chen Ruizhi's fleet suddenly detached from the battlefield and is rushing back to Daughter Planet. Currently, all parties are unaware of her stance, whether she's against Fu Qiuyan or supporting her, but she is currently the most powerful party."
"Who initiated the mutiny?" Jiang Ye asked.
"Fu Qiuyan's niece, Fu Conghan," Liu Shuzeng said. "Fu Conghan controls Daughter Planet's northern army, about thirty to forty star-class warships, and three million ground troops. The southern army is still hesitating. The distribution of forces is too large, and the situation is unclear. They haven't made any statements yet."
Jiang Ye took a deep breath. "So Fu Qiuyan is calling us planet leaders to come over, wanting to use us to stabilize the situation. With us there, the mutiny won't be able to proceed too aggressively, is that what you mean?"
"Yes, she wants everyone to become grasshoppers on the same rope as her." Liu Shuzeng said, "I've made it clear to you, don't fall for it. Mutiny is not a joke. It hasn't opened fire yet, but it might start fighting at any moment."
"What are the other planet leaders' attitudes?" Jiang Ye asked.
"I've already notified a few acquaintances. They've decided to go in a week or two, by which time things should have settled down," Liu Shuzeng said. "Let them settle their family affairs themselves. Whoever wins, we'll attend their summit."
"What are your plans?" Liu Shuzeng suddenly asked back.
"I'm undecided right now. If it were another planet in such a mess, I definitely wouldn't get involved. But Old Fu and I have some history, and our planet has trade cooperation with Daughter Planet. Now that an old friend is in trouble, I'm considering whether to help," Jiang Ye said. "Thank you for the information. Old Fu's actions are too unethical. How could she trick us?"
"It's hard to say. Who knows if this mutiny is just Fu Conghan's impulsive act, or if there's someone else supporting her behind the scenes?" Liu Shuzeng said. "With your current strength, it would be easy to mediate by force, but what if there are troubles afterward?"
Jiang Ye shivered. He tapped his head. He was being foolish. Things happened too suddenly, and he hadn't even considered this. How could a mutiny be so easy? Without the support of forces behind the scenes, how could it happen?
Is Liu Shuzeng's call a genuine reminder? Or is he just a messenger? Or even part of the forces behind the mutiny? Is this call an hint or a threat?
"Do you have any idea who is supporting them?" Jiang Ye chose to ask directly. "If the other party is too powerful, I'll have to decline. I'll go in two weeks like you, or not go at all."
