Chapter 1125 Hallucination Synchronization

Organ enhancement surgery. The operating room was a coffin-like long box. Jiang Ye lay inside obediently like a corpse, then felt his organs slowly heating up.

His eyeballs heated up, feeling like grapes warming in a microwave. But as they heated, Jiang Ye clearly felt his vision sharpen.

Looking at the ceiling, it was just a smooth white expanse.

But as the surgery progressed, the ceiling became clearer and clearer, to the point where he could see the fine details of the paintwork.

It was as clear as if he had pressed his face against the ceiling to look.

Jiang Ye was startled, thinking, "Did I become farsighted?"

But glancing to the side, the surface of the instruments was also exceptionally clear.

Even the subtle colors of the light had changed. The entire world seemed to have been upgraded in resolution, from a pirated movie to a premium, exclusive original picture. And there was no eye strain; the more he stared at something, the more refreshed and clear-headed he felt.

After the surgery, a nurse helped Jiang Ye up.

Jiang Ye stared at the nurse's face and felt that her facial resolution had also improved. He could even see the extremely fine downy hairs on her skin and the details in her eyes.

Before, looking at her eyes, he could only see the pupils and the whites of her eyes. But now, he could see the subtle red blood vessels at the edges of the whites, like a winding red river on a glacier.

He could also see the cornea around the pupils, a yellowish-brown texture with subtle bumps. If the pupils were dark, gaping volcanic craters, those bumps were the undulating mountain ranges.

"Is it too high-definition? Are you finding it a bit difficult to adjust?" the nurse asked with a smile.

"Indeed," Jiang Ye replied. "It's too clear. It feels like the whole world is different. There were so many details I never noticed before."

"You should get used to it in about two or three days," the nurse said. "Your adjustment might not be sensitive at first, but you'll be able to regulate it freely soon."

After the organ enhancement surgery, it was time for the mitochondrial surgery.

For the mitochondrial surgery, he again lay in a coffin-like white long box.

Jiang Ye, wearing only his underwear, lay down obediently with his strong physique. Then, an oily liquid was poured over him from head to toe, drenching his entire body.

Immediately after, his whole body began to heat up.

"It might get very hot, but don't worry. We'll be monitoring your condition with instruments throughout," the nurse instructed.

"It might get very hot? How hot?" Jiang Ye felt a deep sense of unease. "I feel like I'm food being heated in a microwave."

The nurse smiled sweetly, "It varies from person to person. Hang in there!"

Half an hour later, Jiang Ye felt his internal organs heating up intensely, as if they had caught fire and were burning hot.

His internal organs seemed to have come alive, becoming independent life forms and beginning to stir.

Moreover, the temperature of each part of his body seemed to be different, resulting in a sensation of both cold and heat simultaneously, a multi-layered experience.

An hour later, his skin also began to feel hot. Jiang Ye reached out and touched his face, feeling it like a furnace.

"I feel like I'm going to spontaneously combust!" Jiang Ye exclaimed in panic. "Is this really normal?"

"There's no problem. Your current physical indicators are very good. The surgery might even finish ahead of schedule," the nurse reassured him softly. "Don't worry, we perform thousands of mitochondrial surgeries every year, and we've never had any issues."

As soon as she finished speaking, a stream of warm oil was again poured over Jiang Ye's entire body.

"I feel like I'm being barbecued, brushed with oil and grilled," Jiang Ye said helplessly. "How much longer?"

"Two hours in total. There will be ten minutes of intense heat. Please bear with it. If you can't stand it, we can give you a painkiller," the nurse said.

An hour later, the "intense heat" arrived.

Jiang Ye was dazed by the heat, his entire body feeling like it was in an oven. His brain felt like it was smoking, and his consciousness began to blur.

It wasn't exactly painful, but the sensation of heat radiating from within his body was quite terrifying.

The surgery finally ended.

Several nurses helped the trembling Jiang Ye up, assisted him in putting on a hospital gown, and then placed him in a prepared wheelchair.

Jiang Ye's expression twitched when he saw the wheelchair. If he hadn't been told beforehand that he would be weak after the surgery, this scene would have been a clear medical malpractice. A perfectly healthy person walked in, and a disheveled person in a wheelchair was wheeled out.

As they left the room, a nurse handed Jiang Ye a small brown plush bear.

"What's this?" Jiang Ye asked, hugging the plush bear. "Is it a consolation prize? Like a lollipop for a child after a shot?"

"It's both a consolation prize and a monitoring device," the nurse chuckled. "The bear has a detector inside. As you hold it, it can monitor your physical condition in real-time. If anything is abnormal, we'll know immediately."

Jiang Ye then dutifully held the bear against his chest.

The nurse pushed the wheelchair and wheeled Jiang Ye into the corridor.

Just then, the door of the adjacent operating room opened, and another nurse wheeled out a wheelchair.

Cen Yemeng, wearing a hospital gown and holding a pink plush rabbit, was slumped weakly in the wheelchair, her forehead covered in sweat.

She had clearly become younger. Her skin was as delicate as flower petals, her eyes were more lively, and she had a slight baby-like roundness. Jiang Ye immediately felt that if he were to rub his face against his wife's, the sensation would be very soft and comfortable.

"Husband!" Cen Yemeng's eyes lit up, and she waved. Then she covered her mouth. "You've become a young man, so handsome!"

"Wife, you're truly beautiful," Jiang Ye nodded.

"Why do you have a bear? I don't like rabbits, I like bears," Cen Yemeng said. "Let's switch!"

"Can this be switched?" Jiang Ye asked the nurse, shaking the bear in his hand.

"Yes, it can," the nurse replied.

The two nurses pushed the couple's wheelchairs side by side. Jiang Ye and Cen Yemeng exchanged their plush toys, then held them against their chests. The scene was rather heartwarming.

The nurses escorted them back to their room.

Jiang Ye and Cen Yemeng, holding their toys, stumbled out of their wheelchairs. They looked like two medical miracles as they shakily walked to the bedside and dove into the covers.

"So dizzy, so weak," Cen Yemeng said. "Let's sleep, husband. Sleep with me."

Jiang Ye laboriously pulled the blanket over both of them, then hugged his wife and closed his eyes to sleep.

Cen Yemeng was restless, rubbing her small face back and forth against her husband's face.

Jiang Ye, not to be outdone, rubbed back.

For the next three days, the couple spent their time in a semi-conscious state, lying in bed for nearly twenty hours a day, occasionally getting up to eat and use the restroom.

At noon and at night, Jiang Ye lay in bed and looked out the window, often experiencing hallucinations. Continual tall buildings would rise from the sea, as if a city was emerging from the ocean floor. Or majestic mountains would appear on the sea's surface, sometimes appearing as stark white icebergs, then transforming into golden sand mountains, and in the blink of an eye, becoming forested mountain ranges.

The scenery on the sea was different every day. The world in his hallucinations became incredibly magical, but fortunately, the magic was confined to outside the window; nothing changed within the room.

Jiang Ye described the sights he saw, and Cen Yemeng, with a hazy gaze, looked up at the window. She could also see the same hallucinations.

"This surgery, even the hallucinations are synchronized?" Jiang Ye found it incredible.

"Call the nurse," Cen Yemeng said. "It's too amazing."
