Jiang Ye watched the remaining videos, all showing similar processes.
The assassins who kidnapped Jiang Senlin were all citizens of Leng An Star. In addition, many logistics and intelligence members of the Jia Shi organization were active on Leng An Star and were also exposed. After interrogation, except for a few witnesses, they were all executed.
The incident even made it onto Leng An Star's television news, reporting the successful dismantling of a major terrorist organization and the elimination of a large number of terrorists.
The news had a great effect. The people of Leng An Star, who had been speculating about the sudden lockdown of the planet, now had an explanation, and public opinion applauded. Online comments were full of praise.
"Alright, I promise you I'll handle this properly," Jiang Ye said, standing up with his wife in his arms. "I'm going to the summit venue. You get back to your work."
"What are you going to do at the summit venue?" Cen Yemeng asked, looking at her husband with a hint of fear.
"Establish authority, draw a bottom line for all eyes, both visible and hidden," Jiang Ye replied with a smile, stroking her head.
...
The summit venue.
A group of delegates were whispering, their faces showing varying degrees of impatience. Many were constantly making phone calls to confirm the situation. The summit had been postponed without reason, and they had been sitting there for half an hour, feeling the urge to urinate.
With a loud bang, the venue doors opened.
The delegates' buzzing clamor suddenly fell silent. The sound of military boots echoed into the venue, and panic appeared on the delegates' faces. The atmosphere was like a group of small animals making noise, only to be startled into silence when a predatory beast burst in.
Jiang Ye walked at the forefront. Under the bright, clear sky, he was wearing a gleaming white raincoat and boots, a transparent mask, and carrying a... cleaver.
Behind him were soldiers armed with guns, at least a platoon. Two teams of police followed. They were clearly seasoned professionals, their faces like those of a wolf pack, moving in without a word.
The delegates' eyes widened in fear and unease.
What was happening?
Why such a show of force?
Jiang Ye strode purposefully to the seat of a company.
Levy Interstellar Resource Development Company.
The two chief representatives, Dobbin Rupert and Taut Douglas, stared with wide eyes, jumping up from their seats with expressions of terror.
Behind them, secretaries and other attendants also rose, their faces filled with fear.
"Mr. Jiang, what is this?" Rupert asked, his face pale.
"You speak more pleasingly. I'll spare your life for now to serve as a witness," Jiang Ye said.
"Mr. Jiang, what do you mean by this? I think there might be a misunderstanding!" Taut's hand holding his phone trembled. He sat down on a table behind him, shrinking back in panic.
"There is no misunderstanding. Your time is up," Jiang Ye said.
Jiang Ye suddenly swung the cleaver, striking Taut's chest. The blade broke through his ribs and cut through his flesh. Blood gushed out with a sound like a dry faucet, splashing onto Jiang Ye's white raincoat, immediately staining it red.
Screams erupted from the venue. The delegates jumped up in terror, teacups were knocked over, spilling tea everywhere, and chairs crashed to the ground. It was as if Jiang Ye's swing had stirred up a gale, throwing the entire venue into disarray.
Taut lay on the table, his limbs twitching in pain, letting out a hoarse cry, "Call the police quickly!"
"Mr. Taut has quite a sense of humor. Not many people can make such a humorous dying wish," Jiang Ye sneered.
The cleaver struck repeatedly. Jiang Ye's arm strength was astonishing. After a few blows, the thick wooden tabletop was smashed. Taut fell to the ground amidst the crashing sounds, letting out an inhuman howl. In the distance, some delegates had fainted from fright, causing further chaos. Jiang Ye continued to swing the cleaver until the screams finally subsided.
"Hang the body on the flagpole in front of the venue," Jiang Ye said, removing the blood-splattered transparent mask and taking a long, relieved breath. "Write a sign that says this person supported terrorist activities, participated in the kidnapping of the Commander's son, committed heinous crimes, and was executed on the spot as a warning."
With a thud, Rupert collapsed to the ground, his light-colored trousers quickly becoming soaked. He fumbled in his inner pocket, pulled out a small bottle of fast-acting heart medicine, and poured it into his mouth.
The military police sprang into action, some dragging away bodies, others handcuffing other representatives from the Levy company. The venue was silent, save for the crisp sound of handcuffs.
Jiang Ye, carrying the blood-soaked cleaver, walked to the podium and turned on all the microphones, clearing his throat.
The sound of his cough echoed through all the venue's loudspeakers, like thunder.
"Distinguished delegates, I apologize for the half-hour delay of today's summit due to the handling of the Levy Interstellar Resource Development Company's case," Jiang Ye said, scanning the room.
"Levy Interstellar Resource Development Company attempted to obtain land on Quartz Star through private connections and cheating. Of course, I refused. To force my compliance, this company hired a terrorist organization and purchased professional killers to abduct my son, who was studying abroad, on an alien planet."
"The gentleman I just killed has ample evidence showing his deep involvement in this case. The gentleman beside him who wet his pants was also involved, but he was more coerced, so I've spared his life to be a witness."
"I have already contacted the headquarters of Levy Interstellar Resource Development Company, located on Snowfield Star, through diplomatic channels. This case will be pursued, and the CEO, his son, and the management of Levy Company were all involved in the case and will ultimately be shot. Considering that this company will soon cease to exist, I now announce the cancellation of Levy Company's seat at this summit."
"That's all I have to say. I hope all delegates can obtain the land they desire through open, fair, and clean means. If there are any similar situations targeting me again, I believe you all understand the consequences."
Jiang Ye strode out of the venue.
The military police escorted the employees of the Levy company away.
Venue attendants immediately stepped forward, quickly replacing the broken tables and blood-stained carpets, and spraying perfume into the air to remove the smell of blood. Within half a minute, the scene was spotless, as if nothing had happened.
The large screen lit up, displaying a map of Quartz Star, and a new round of bidding began.
...
Leaving the venue, Jiang Ye saw a familiar figure.
Liu Jizi.
She stood with Su Yueming, both wearing identical gray skirt suits, giving them a harmonious, sisterly appearance.
As a few soldiers dragged away a body, Su Yueming turned pale and took two steps back. Liu Jizi, however, showed no change in expression and waved to Jiang Ye with a smile.
"Chief, I'm here for work!" Liu Jizi said happily.
"First day at work, are you ready for a business trip?" Jiang Ye said, taking off his raincoat and discarding it with the cleaver inside.
"Going to Snowfield Star to deal with that scumbag company, right?" Liu Jizi pulled a suitcase from behind a pillar. "Ready to go anytime!"
"Then let's go. Yueming will stay here to work. Jizi and I will be on a business trip for a few days," Jiang Ye said.
"Okay, Chief!" Su Yueming nodded. "Goodbye, Sister Jizi!"
