At first, I didn't understand what Song Bing meant.
After I thought about it carefully, I said, "Are you worried that people on the ship will have ideas about Bai Hanyan?"
Song Bing nodded, "We don't know how long this voyage will take, but judging by the food prepared in the kitchen, it will be at least ten to half a month, or even longer."
I didn't expect Song Bing to be so meticulous, even checking the kitchen.
"If this is a pirate ship, then the crew are all wicked people. Once someone has evil intentions, it will be very troublesome..."
"Surely not? We were brought here by Yang Hanxue. With him here..."
Song Bing smiled bitterly, "Mr. Xiang, many things in the martial world don't work that way. Especially for those who live by their wits, they never betray brothers and friends easily... People who live on the edge of a knife value this matter extremely."
His words made me feel a sense of unease.
I suddenly remembered the inexplicable words Yang Hanxue had said to me earlier.
He said he would never betray his friends.
Before I could ponder further, there was a sudden commotion from the next room.
I was startled, glanced at Song Bing, and rushed out without a word.
Opening the door, I saw two crew members standing at the entrance. Looking at Bai Hanyan's room next door, the door was already open, clearly someone had entered.
I was shocked and asked, "What are you doing?"
One of them, with a cigarette dangling from his lips, looked at me with a smirk and said, "It's none of your business."
As I was about to go next door to check the situation, that guy blocked me, "I said it's none of your business!"
"Move aside!" I said coldly, "Don't you know we are Mr. Yang's guests?"
The man looked disdainful and tried to push me back into my room. At that moment, the noise from next door grew louder. Gritting my teeth, I shoved them aside and rushed over.
Arriving at the door of the adjacent room, I saw a man inside about to make improper advances towards Bai Hanyan!
Bai Hanyan seemed to have already fainted, lying motionless on the floor.
"Bai Hanyan!" I shouted, but she didn't respond at all.
The man on the floor, however, turned his head and glared at me fiercely.
"What do you want?" I asked, staring at him.
He licked his lips, stood up, and tilted his chin.
This gesture was clearly not directed at me. Instantly, a cold object pressed against my temple.
I glanced sideways and saw it was a handgun.
"Go back to sleep," the person holding the gun to me said rudely.
This was my first time experiencing something like this. I tried my best to suppress the panic in my heart and my mind raced.
"Aren't you afraid of Boss Yang finding out if you do this?"
The guy in Bai Hanyan's room slowly stood up and sneered, "Who do you think you are, mentioning Boss Yang to me?"
"Do you know who that woman is?" I said, "She is someone Boss Yang hired to help him with his affairs. If even a single hair on her head is harmed, and it messes up Boss Yang's important matters, how will you explain yourselves!"
This bluff clearly made the man hesitate, but he quickly grinned sinisterly, "Do you really think I'm that easily fooled? Does Boss Yang need a woman to handle his business?"
Saying that, he walked up to me and grabbed my collar, "Kid, I advise you not to anger me, or you'll have a hard time once we reach international waters!"
I sneered and met his gaze directly, "Oh really? I'd like to see if that's true!"
As soon as I finished speaking, the guy punched me hard in the stomach. The blow was not light, almost making me vomit out what I had eaten for dinner.
The moment he attacked me, there was a sudden commotion from behind me. When I came to my senses, Song Bing had already knocked down the two guards at the door!
What's more, he was holding two guns!
This scene happened too quickly, even surprising me a little.
Song Bing walked up to me and directly pressed a gun to the man's forehead.
The man seemed taken aback. He glanced at Song Bing, and his Adam's apple bobbed involuntarily.
"We don't want to escalate things today," Song Bing said. "We're all in the same line of work, how about we give each other some space?"
The man licked his lips, smiled, "I didn't expect you to be so tough! Alright, then let's give each other some space. We'll call it a day."
Afterward, he glared at me, took the gun from Song Bing's hand, bypassed me, and left Bai Hanyan's room.
Before he left, he dropped a sentence, "I advise you two not to inform Boss Yang about what happened today, otherwise I fear you won't be able to handle the consequences."
As soon as they left, I hurried into the room and checked on Bai Hanyan on the floor. I helped her up and gently patted her face, but she showed no reaction.
"She's probably been drugged," Song Bing said. "Wait a moment."
He then went to the bathroom and came back with a wet towel. I used the wet towel to wipe Bai Hanyan's face, and she gradually woke up.
"Xiang Fei? What are you doing here... I feel so dizzy..." Bai Hanyan frowned, her face looking unwell.
I sighed, unsure how to explain things to her, and said, "You seem to be seasick. Why don't you try to sleep for a while longer?"
She nodded.
I helped her onto the bed, covered her with the quilt, and then left with Song Bing.
Back in our room, I spoke, "There's something strange about this."
Song Bing looked at me, and I continued, "I suspect it's not as you said... If Yang Hanxue really didn't take us seriously, that guy wouldn't have told us not to tell him about this. Since he said that, it means he's afraid Yang Hanxue will cause trouble for him."
Song Bing pondered and nodded slightly, agreeing with my thoughts.
I continued my analysis, "If they're afraid of Yang Hanxue, yet dare to attack us... this is contradictory... unless..."
"Unless someone is backing them," Song Bing interjected. "And this person's status is probably on par with Yang Hanxue."
I nodded, "There's no other possibility."
"How did you know they would go after Bai Hanyan?" I asked, voicing my doubt.
Merely judging that Bai Hanyan was a woman, and Song Bing could determine that those people would go after her, seemed too far-fetched. He must have noticed something else.
Song Bing didn't hide anything from me. He said that when they boarded the ship, he noticed several sailors discussing Bai Hanyan's figure and appearance.
At the time, he didn't pay much attention, as it was normal for men to discuss women. However, when he noticed the look in their eyes, he felt something was amiss.
"Perhaps you won't understand what I'm saying," Song Bing said. "I've encountered all sorts of people. Whether someone dares to do something or not can be determined by looking into their eyes. Back then, when I heard that man say he wanted to 'handle' Miss Bai, there was no hesitation in his gaze."
