Ye Fei moved with ease among the black-clad assailants, his combat leaving only two of them still capable of fighting. The rest, like the one before, were incapacitated.
With a swift lunge, Ye Fei placed himself directly in front of the leader. "I'll finish you now!" he declared, not wanting to waste any more time. They immediately engaged in a fierce battle.
The leader was inwardly shocked. His own subordinates were known to be formidable, able to take on ten opponents at once. This encounter gave him a much deeper understanding of Ye Fei's combat prowess.
They traded blows back and forth, the fight intensifying. Ye Fei hadn't encountered an opponent of this caliber in a long time, and he found himself growing more excited with each exchange, completely absorbed in the battle.
However, under Ye Fei's relentless assault, the leader began to falter. As he retreated, he ferociously unleashed a hidden weapon, a sharp projectile flying directly towards Ye Fei's chest. This was his ultimate move, one that had never failed.
The whistling sound of the incoming projectile grew louder. Ye Fei instinctively bent down, dodging the deadly weapon with incredible speed. Then, with a surge of strength, he wielded the weapon he had just disarmed from the black-clad man, hurling it back at his opponent.
"Die!" Ye Fei no longer held back, showing no hesitation towards someone trying to take his life.
With a *thud*, the curved blade pierced the leader's chest, blood gushing out.
"Brother!"
"Brother, hold on!"
The remaining two conscious black-clad men rushed forward, covering the leader's wound. His eyes widened in disbelief at his impending fate. "Avenge... avenge me!" he choked out, before his life extinguished.
"Brother!"
After their cries, the two remaining assailants glared at Ye Fei with hatred but dared not make another move.
"I didn't want to take your lives!" Ye Fei stated. "But he tried to ambush me, so I had to send him to hell! I'll give you thirty seconds. Disappear from my sight now!"
Ye Fei calmly took out a handkerchief and began to wipe the blood from his hands. The surviving black-clad men, who had braced themselves for death, were surprised Ye Fei had spared them. They quickly loaded their fallen comrades onto their vehicle and sped away.
"Uninteresting," Ye Fei muttered. "Their fighting strength is far from the old man's."
The entire confrontation had been witnessed by a woman seated in the back of a car. She recognized Ye Fei immediately – wasn't this the man who had raced her earlier?
"Xiao Xiao, invite that gentleman to our car!" the woman instructed. "We need to thank him in person."
"I understand," Xiao Xiao replied, still shaken. If Ye Fei hadn't intervened, they likely would have met a dire fate.
"Sir, my lady wishes to invite you," Xiao Xiao said, stepping out of the car and expressing her gratitude towards Ye Fei.
"No need. I have other matters. You don't need to thank me specifically," Ye Fei replied, shaking his head. He looked at his damaged car, which was now immobile, and planned to call for a tow.
*Tap, tap, tap.* The sound of high heels approached. Moments later, a graceful woman stood before Ye Fei.
"Sir, please leave the rest to me," she said. "After all, it was our mistake for crashing into your car. Don't worry, I've already instructed someone to come. They will take your car for repairs shortly."
After this explanation, Ye Fei agreed. He eventually got into the woman's business vehicle.
Inside the business car, Ye Fei sat next to the woman, finally able to see her clearly. Her refined features possessed a hint of fierceness, and her every movement exuded charm.
"May I know your esteemed name, sir?" the woman asked politely.
"Ye Fei," he replied directly.
"A good name," the woman nodded, then introduced herself. "Yu Xiao. That is my name." Ye Fei nodded in return. They had finally exchanged names.
"Sir, thank you for stopping and saving our lives just now," Yu Xiao said, a hint of concern in her voice. "However, you killed their leader. You must be cautious of retaliation."
"It's nothing. I'm not afraid of them!" Ye Fei answered dismissively, not taking the matter seriously.
"By the way, do you live nearby?" Yu Xiao inquired casually. Ye Fei waved his hand and briefly explained his reason for being there.
"So that's how it is." Internally, she felt indignant, surprised by the situation with the company's security. "I apologize, sir. I am also at fault for this. Let me introduce myself properly. I am the General Manager of the Wanhe Commercial Center. The final spot you require is also decided by me," Yu Xiao revealed.
"What? You're the General Manager?" Ye Fei exclaimed, surprised.
Sensing Ye Fei's astonishment, Yu Xiao had an idea and continued, "I have witnessed your exceptional combat abilities, Mr. Ye. Therefore, I have a humble request." She seemed hesitant, having to work up the courage.
"Please, go ahead," Ye Fei prompted.
"Alright, I won't beat around the bush. I need to travel to Mianxi soon for a stone gambling convention to procure high-quality jewelry raw materials for my company. I would like to ask you to be my personal bodyguard." Yu Xiao explained. "Rest assured, if you escort me back safely throughout the entire journey, I will directly grant you a final spot for residency in our Wanhe Commercial Center. I hope Mr. Ye can consider it carefully." She said this anxiously, fearing Ye Fei might refuse.
"I agree!" Ye Fei exclaimed, slapping his thigh. "When do we depart?" He couldn't believe such good fortune had come his way. If he could achieve his goal as this woman suggested, his mission would be complete, meaning he could obtain the marriage contract and successfully break off the engagement.
