Chapter 322 The Finale (VI)

The demon god had completely lost its patience.

Others might not know, but It certainly did.

It had not recovered its full strength, and at the worst possible moment, it chose to detach its primal spirit from its physical body and from the异界 (yì jiè - other realm), traveling to this small world of three thousand realms.

If all of this had been meticulously planned by Gu Junshi, then It had to admire her audacity and the elaborate effort she had put in to create an advantage.

However, all of it was in vain.

She had ultimately met her doom due to her own arrogance.

Yet, her death was not entirely without value; at least, after Gu Junshi had depleted its demonic essence and betrayed It, causing severe damage, the demon god’s strength had greatly diminished.

Coupled with Gu Chuhua’s recent strike, which ordinarily It would have disdained, but being constrained in this small world ruled by the heavenly dao, It was injured once more.

At this moment, it felt like an invisible rope had been placed around its neck, tightening bit by bit due to uncontrollable circumstances, causing It to feel irritated and uncomfortable.

When had the demon god ever suffered such humiliation? It was an ancient deity, albeit an evil one, but all of Its adversaries were figures of equal standing. Now, it had been bitten by these inferior, swarming insects of the small worlds.

No longer would It play it safe and wait to recover. It intended to destroy everything before it, regardless of the cost.

“Are you full yet? My army of demonic beasts…” The uncanny red cloud morphed into a face, possessing human features but constantly shifting, appearing old, young, male, and female.

“Next, you shall go to the various heavens to wreak havoc and kill to your heart’s content, to drain the life force of all sentient beings and offer this realm as a sacrifice to Me!”

Those “mayfly creatures” that had dispersed in the morning mist, the army of demonic beasts that had grown by devouring the dust of Gu Junshi’s body, although many were slain by Gu Er, even more were continuously increasing.

Following the demon god’s summons, countless spatial portals appeared above Fengdu City. The demonic beasts, imprinted with their missions in their minds, immediately flicked their long tails and surged forward as a dark stream of light, all traversing through them.

The number of them entering in an orderly fashion formed a tidal wave, and waves of evil energy crashed against the bright and clear sky, clearly intending to go to other realms to harm all beings.

“We cannot let them do this!”

“Every person who dies will become nourishment for the demon god. We must protect and assist; we absolutely cannot let the demon god slaughter several realms!”

“All disciples, obey my command! Die for righteousness, and die with honor. Our immortal sects stand here, facing this calamity together. We will not retreat until victory, and we will not return until we achieve it!”

A host of immortal venerables and powerful beings, as well as the sect leaders and elders who remained calm in their respective sects, their voices, transmitted through the round light mirrors, reached a consensus.

At this moment, no one was holding back. Seeing that great calamity was imminent, they all brought out their trump cards and prepared to fight to the death.

Upon hearing this, the disciples of the immortal sects’ eyes widened in fury, and they shouted in unison, “We will live and die with the righteous path, and we will not retreat until death!”

“Go!”

They did not possess the demon god’s precision in dispatching demons. However, the powerful beings from the spiritual realm who cultivated secret arts, as well as the half-immortals in the tribulation-passing stage, also understood spatial arts, but their range and accuracy were questionable.

Thus, others also used their unique skills, crossing the sea like the Eight Immortals. They followed closely in the wake of the demonic beasts, plunging into the portals opened by the demon god before they could close.

The disciples of the immortal sects from other heavens, through large teleportation arrays, flew to various realms to provide support and rescue, engaging in fierce battles with those demonic beast legions.

“Your struggles as mere ants are truly laughable. You are all destined to die in the end.”

The demon god opened its massive mouth and spat out swirling clouds to knock down those attempting to enter the portals to other heavens. Gu Er, having lost his self, became a puppet, unleashing a demonic barrier that trapped them.

The black threads behind him controlled him as he attacked these immortal disciples, but perhaps he still stubbornly possessed self-awareness. His body was uncontrollable, but his bloodshot eyes, with a streak of blood, were unyielding, desperately seeking an opportunity to resist.

The several immortal venerables joined forces. Some among them were primarily defensive, some offensive, and some supportive. Once they coordinated, they could barely restrain Gu Er. However, Gu Er’s body was incredibly strong, and coupled with the cultivation techniques taught by Gu Junshi, his combat power was extraordinary. In time, they were bound to be defeated.

On the other side, Gu Junshi’s subordinates hesitated as they watched all of this. They could not do anything else at the moment; they had to remain steady and continue the tasks they were undertaking. Even if they had to watch Gu Er turn into a blood puppet, they could not go to his aid.

“Cheng Hong, wake up!”

“Cheng Hong!”

As if a voice was vehemently calling out, Cheng Hong’s wandering, anchorless soul steadied, then awoke as if struck by a mighty bell.

As Cheng Hong awoke, the Human Emperor and the others who had fallen earlier also gradually regained consciousness.

But when they saw the desolate and broken land, they were all astonished.

“Cheng Hong, join me in sealing those celestial portals!” Danya’s throat was hoarse, but she shouted with all her might towards the dazed Cheng Hong.

Cheng Hong was bewildered.

He was still alive…

The wounds on his body felt so real, yet upon investigation, they had vanished without a trace.

He looked at Danya in a daze. Danya was now charging forward, splitting the path with his lightning sword, the lightning dazzling, distinct amidst the red clouds and black haze.

With no time to think, he heard a voice, chilling to the bone, evil and cold.

“Allow you all to witness together how this world is destroyed.”

The demon god’s face suddenly dispersed, disappearing without a trace. The heavenly mirror covering the sky above was shattered, and the broken “mirror surface” drifted before everyone’s eyes.

The “mirror surface” connected to the thirty-two heavens, the human realm, the spiritual realm, the demon realm, and places of disaster. A single glance revealed the hellish scenes unfolding in each realm.

The Demon Realm

The Lord of the Demon Realm was engaged in a fierce battle with a large number of ferocious demonic beasts that had suddenly appeared. He led the nine great tribes of demons and the twelve demon ancestors in their desperate efforts to repel and defend. The entire Demon Realm was in chaos and panic.

These demonic beasts were not like the current demons, which were ranked up to level twelve. They were demonic seeds refined by the demon god, primarily possessing the power of devouring and corruption. Upon their appearance, they drained spiritual energy, causing widespread destruction and decay.

These demonic beasts might have once been demonic beasts, or demons, or high-level demonic beasts born from demonic bones of tens of thousands of years ago. But now, they had all become mechanical puppets under the demon god’s command, devoid of self-awareness, filled with demonic malevolence, cruelty, and only understood slaughter and destruction.

The more gruesome and brutal the scene, the more power the demon god’s side gained. Previously, with the existence of the underworld, the demon god could only gradually and secretly allow the underworld to build up its strength for him. A thousand years ago, the underworld disappeared, and he no longer had any reservations. He transformed the “Heavenly Gate” for ascension into the “Six Paths of Netherworld Gate.”

And he devoured the flesh and spiritual energy of all those who ascended, making it his aid in escaping the cage.
