Chapter 332: Chapter 332
Luminar Academy...
"So, the time has come, huh?" the man asked.
The man is old and is none other than the Headmaster of Luminar Academy, Jason Luminar. His family established the academy in partnership with the academy.
Yes, the academies are not established by the Alliance itself, not all of them. Many were established in partnership, like the Military Academy. The military division established this one; although that division works for the good of the Alliance, it doesn’t come under the complete control of the Alliance.
The woman seated across him nodded, "Yes, master would be busy for some time. When he succeeds, he will cross the threshold of this world and become the most powerful person in the world. Then everyone would bow to the master, but before he was completed, no one could know what he was up to".
The woman sharpened her voice, "To do that, the war needs to continue for a while. Also, we need some Death professionals for the ritual".
The old man nodded, "I understand. I’ll make sure that the war doesn’t stop. Coming to the point of Death professionals, we have a few who study in our subsidiary academies, but none of them are strong or have awakened to good professions. You should know all the good ones enter the Dusk Academy".
"I have even sent offers in recent years for those who have awakened A-rank and S-rank Professions, but they declined, as Luminar is not suitable for them. No one in the academy can teach them properly about the Death profession, and even our libraries only have basic details about those professions".
"No one thought for a second of joining here. If not the Dusk Academy, they chose other academies, but never Luminar", he lamented.
The woman nodded. She knew the efforts the Headmaster put into recruiting Death Professionals on the orders of their master.
She had seen the contract that the academy sent to Aaron Skyhart, who had awakened an S-rank Death Profession. Many would jump at such an offer, but the boy thought more deeply than most. Many would have been blinded by the immediate offers and not seen the long-term benefits.
Aaron, on the other hand, saw exactly what it was. An immediate growth but a loss in the long term, and chose Dusk Academy’s contract instead, where there was a good chance for long-term growth.
The woman nodded, "I know that. Master wanted Aaron because he was an S-rank professional, but it doesn’t matter. We can substitute him with multiple low-rank professionals. Make sure that no one would become suspicious about their deaths".
The old man laughed, "Haha, no problem there. Most of them are insignificant and the Alliance would not have time or resources to investigate, and by the time they do, it would be too late, as long as Master succeeds", he said.
The woman narrowed her eyes, "No need to worry. Master will succeed this time. Last time, he didn’t know much about the process to become the master of DeathLands, but now, he was well prepared. This time, no matter what, he would succeed. No need to worry about that. Make sure that you keep up with your end, or you know what would happen", she warned him.
The old man nodded, "No need to get all tensed. You should know, once I do this, there is no going back for me. Unlike Master and you, I am not powerful enough to go against the Alliance. Also, I need to think about my bloodline".
"I can’t procreate anymore, and my son and my grandson were the last of our line. If anything were to happen to them, my line would end. I need to think about that", he said.
The woman nodded, "Ah, yes, I remember. You were cursed by the Witch when you courted her repeatedly. I warned you that it was dangerous, but you didn’t heed my warning. As long as it was a woman, you couldn’t keep your pants on, and that cost you a lot. I remember that she even killed your Elder Son, who came to your aid that time", she spoke straight forwardly.
The old man’s face darkened as he remembered that day.
He regretted going against the Witch and pestering her more than he should have. From the start, for some reason, no matter how many girls he slept with, the children he had was very low.
Before clashing with the Witch, he had slept with more than thirty girls, but only three gave birth. Even then, his youngest died in the hands of a monster. He entered the dungeon after his awakening with a sense of arrogance.
There was a reason for his arrogance. He was well protected by the items that his father had given him, and he also awakened an S-rank profession, which says that he would one day be among the top of the hierarchy.
It cost the boy his life.
After that, Jason lost his first son to the Witch. Now, only his middle son and his grandson, who came from the middle son, remain in his line. The old man wanted to increase the number of grandsons if he couldn’t increase the number of sons, but after the first grandson, there was no luck.
He was sure that his line was affected by some curse long ago, long before he clashed with the Witch. His family began to produce fewer descendants over time.
The master promised to provide his family with some answers and the reason why they aligned with him, but to get to the bottom of their problem, they had to help him first.
A deal was made by the old man’s grandfather long ago, and the reason was that he had to keep working for the master. There was no way out of it.
The Deal cost them their humanity. They stopped caring about the innocent lives that they had sworn to protect once upon a time. It is human nature, and there was no fault in them for choosing themselves; however, choosing to sacrifice the innocent was definitely crossing the line.
"Don’t worry too much. Once Master breaks through, regardless of the issue, he can easily resolve it. Make sure that you don’t fumble", the woman said.
The old man nodded his head, "Don’t worry. There won’t be any issue from my side".
"Good", the woman said and disappeared from her position.

Inside the ruins...
Aaron kept progressing in the ruins. Escaping Death Traps due to his sheer luck, and getting treasures from every place he went, and that was all over the ruins.
Whatever force was driving him, it was making him collect almost every treasure within these ruins. As the days went on, he too felt like something was drawing him to collect everything here, but he was unsure.
He chalked it up to his paranoia and moved forward.
That day, he found something. Not some destroyed place, but a well-structured and well-maintained building. It was a small castle that stood the test of time.
He slowly entered the castle without any delay. A part of him said that the exit is here. If he wants to leave the ruins, he has to enter this castle. It is the only way.
So, without any delay, he entered the castle, ready to face whatever was present inside, and leave this place if possible.
