Chapter 326 Staying Overnight at the Tang Family Manor

As the Tang family patriarch announced, simultaneously handing over the family seal to Tang Xinwan, the family meeting concluded.

At this moment, Tang Xinwan also became the new head of the Tang family.

Ye Cangtian smiled, saying nothing throughout, but he was in a very good mood.

The fact that Elder Tang entrusted the family to Tang Xinwan, coupled with Tang Yongchang's approval and the unanimous consent of the Tang family members, represented the entire Tang family's recognition of her.

Although he was somewhat surprised, he was very happy.

He understood Tang Xinwan well; this girl had always cared for the Tang family and had fought for its interests many times. Allowing her to have complete control of the family now was a good thing.

The meeting adjourned.

The Tang family members also dispersed.

At this point, Elder Tang said, "You two should not go back tonight. It's so late, just stay at the mansion!"

Tang Xinwan hesitated. Since moving out of the old mansion, she hadn't returned to live there.

So, even if she had matters to attend to, no matter how late it was, she would drive back to her own villa.

Elder Tang added, "I've had your parents' courtyard cleaned up long ago, and it's always been maintained. You are now the head of the Tang family; do you have to hesitate even about staying at home?"

"Alright!" Tang Xinwan agreed.

The Tang family's old mansion was vast, with three separate courtyards. Elder Tang had one, Uncle Tang Yongchang's family had another.

The third was for Tang Xinwan's parents, where Tang Xinwan had also lived before.

After they moved out, Tang Xinwan rarely returned.

In the last two years, when Elder Tang was in a coma and the family was controlled by her uncle, Tang Xinwan hadn't visited even once.

Now, she led Ye Cangtian to a separate courtyard. Looking at the familiar surroundings, she couldn't help but take a deep breath and murmur, "I lived here for over ten years; there are too many memories of my parents here!"

After her parents went missing, she rarely came back, partly because she didn't want to dwell on the past and increase her sadness.

The courtyard was meticulously cleaned, and the rooms were also tidied.

Tang Xinwan led Ye Cangtian through the rooms, sharing her own memories and anecdotes about her parents.

"My parents rarely came back, and they didn't manage the company much. This study was where my father spent most of his time. Nothing in here has been moved."

They entered the study. The bookshelf was filled with many books, indicating that Tang Qingshan, who came from a scholarly family, enjoyed reading.

Ye Cangtian casually glanced around, his eyes suddenly drawn to something in the corner of the bookshelf.

He instinctively pushed aside the books in front of him and took out the item, discovering it was wrapped in brown paper.

Tang Xinwan was also a bit surprised. After her parents disappeared, she often came to the study to think of them but had never noticed this item hidden on the bookshelf.

"Can I open it?" Ye Cangtian suddenly became interested.

"If you want to see it, then see it. Who knows if they are alive or dead now? These things are useless to keep," Tang Xinwan said dismissively after a brief glance.

Ye Cangtian opened the brown paper and found only two items inside.

One was a mirror, a bronze mirror, nothing seemed special about it.

The other was a hand-drawn map with some small characters. However, the map was very peculiar; it was unclear where it depicted.

Yet, Ye Cangtian had a feeling this item was related to the Hidden Organization.

He had known for a long time that Tang Qingshan and his wife, his in-laws, were members of the Hidden Organization.

"I'll take this with me. I'll study it when I have time. It might even be related to your parents' disappearance!" he chuckled, putting the items away.

Tang Xinwan nodded, sighing softly.

Seeing her subdued mood, Ye Cangtian smiled and patted her shoulder, "Don't be like this. You are the head of the Tang family now. If your parents knew, they would surely be proud of you!"

Tang Xinwan flicked away his intentionally lingering hand and snorted with a wrinkled nose, "You talk as if. When they asked me to be the head just now, why didn't you say anything?"

"Why should I say anything? This is a good thing!"

Ye Cangtian's eyes lit up, and he grinned playfully, "From now on, you'll be the head of the Tang family, and I'll be the head's husband. Our status in the Tang family will be much higher!"

Tang Xinwan was speechless, then said helplessly, "But I'm afraid I might not do a good job..."

Having become the head, all major decisions for the Tang family would now be hers. If even one decision was wrong, it would have a significant impact on the Tang family.

Therefore, she felt immense pressure.

"There's no 'might not.' Believe in yourself, you can definitely do it!"

"Elder Tang approves of you, your uncle respects you, and now the entire Tang family supports you, so you must have confidence!" Ye Cangtian said with a smile.

Tang Xinwan found his words easy to say and felt a mixture of amusement and relief, gaining much more confidence.

The two soon walked out of the study.

Finally, they arrived at the last room, which was Tang Xinwan's boudoir.

As a young lady of the Tang family, her room was not small. The decoration was warm and cozy, and the room had been meticulously cleaned by the servants.

Moreover, the servants, knowing they would be staying overnight, had already brought new bedsheets, quilts, and some daily necessities.

Ye Cangtian looked at this and a lewd smile spread across his face.

"Elder Tang is quite good to us. This bed looks quite soft!"

Tang Xinwan was stunned for a moment, and then her pretty face instantly flushed red.

She just then remembered that although she and Ye Cangtian each had their own rooms at home, their elders didn't know that.

Now, besides her own boudoir, no other room had been prepared. Furthermore, the only remaining room not tidied was the one her parents used!

Seeing his lewd smile, Tang Xinwan snorted softly, "Old rule, you sleep on the floor!"

"No way?" Ye Cangtian looked as if his life was over.

The weather was already quite cold this season; making him sleep on the floor was ridiculous, wasn't it?

However, knowing her temper, Ye Cangtian resigned himself to it. Sleeping on the floor would be fine; he wouldn't catch a cold given his physique.

A moment later!

Tang Xinwan, after washing up, entered the room wearing her pajamas. Seeing Ye Cangtian busy laying out a blanket, she let out a muffled laugh.

She quickly snuggled into the quilt. After a moment's thought, she poked her head out, her face displaying a playfully coy expression.

"Is it cold down there?"

"What do you think?"

Ye Cangtian lay on the floor, wrapped in a thin quilt, curled into a ball. He rolled his eyes at her question.

The lights went out!

Tang Xinwan found it difficult to sleep, especially thinking of him obediently sleeping on the floor. The weather was so chilly; she worried he might catch a cold.

After a while longer, she quietly asked, "Are you asleep?"

"No!"

"Are you very cold?"

"..."

Ye Cangtian was too lazy to answer. Wasn't that obvious?

"You... you can come up and sleep here!" Tang Xinwan's voice was as soft as a mosquito's.

"What?" Ye Cangtian was momentarily taken aback.

"If you didn't hear, then forget it!"

"I heard, I heard, haha..." Ye Cangtian immediately jumped up, afraid she might change her mind.

However, Tang Xinwan kicked him aside, bit her lip, and warned, "You are not allowed to share the quilt with me, and don't have any wicked thoughts!"

"What are you saying? Am I that kind of person?"

Ye Cangtian chuckled, but a little thrill ran through him. Who could predict sleeping arrangements?

He remembered how Officer Xu could roll from one end of the bed to the other while sleeping.

As he was thinking, Tang Xinwan took out a pillow and placed it between them.

"..."

Was that necessary? I'm not some monstrous beast; why is she so afraid of me?

Ye Cangtian felt a pang of regret.
