Chapter 172: Chapter 172: Qiqi’s Tenderness, The Cabbage Gets Snatched
Letting the words in his heart spill out, John Sinclair stared intently at the girl, hope shining in his eyes.
Isabella Xyler didn’t expect him to confess to her, recalling the other day when he was hinting this to Olivia Green.
Thinking back to her time with him, the fluttering in her heart finally had an explanation at this moment.
Turns out, she had also fallen for John Sinclair at some point.
Looking at the carefully decorated setting and the nervous boy, Isabella Xyler curved her lips into a smile, "You didn’t go to school this morning because you were doing this."
Without waiting for a reply, she suddenly asked, catching John Sinclair off guard, and a rush of disappointment welled up in him. He nodded gently.
So, was he rejected?
But he could clearly feel that this girl didn’t reject him.
Just as he bowed his head in contemplation, Isabella Xyler slowly approached him, squinting with a smile, "What are you thinking about? I agreed."
What!
John Sinclair jerked his head up. Did he hear wrong? How did he hear Bella agreeing?
Seeing his dumbfounded look, Isabella Xyler burst into giggles, covering her mouth.
Then, under John’s incredulous gaze, she slowly leaned in and quickly pulled away.
John raised his hand to touch his lips, feeling as if the warmth still lingered. He suppressed the excitement in his heart, "So, I really didn’t hear wrong."
Her initiative was already embarrassing enough, and now this guy had to ask again, making Isabella feel her face burning even more.
She bit her lip and nodded, immediately wanting to leave and check out the photos.
But.
Suddenly, her hand was grabbed, and before she could react, John’s face suddenly appeared close.
The next second.
The warmth on her lips told her what happened. She stared wide-eyed, a bit at a loss, only able to dumbly let him kiss her.
Click.
A sudden sound interrupted the two.
Reluctantly releasing the girl from his embrace, John turned his head to look.
He saw Claire Green and Sebastian Winn, who had arrived at some point, both stifling laughter—one covering their mouth, the other fiddling with a phone.
It wasn’t hard to guess that the sound just now came from Olivia’s phone.
"Don’t mind us," Claire Green chuckled, "You guys continue."
Upon hearing this, John felt shy but couldn’t help the twitch at the corner of his mouth. He wondered how big his heart would have to be to continue.
Isabella Xyler didn’t think the girl would see them kissing, making her face flush even more.
She lowered her head, fidgeting with her clothing slowly as she moved toward the girl.
"Olivia." Her voice was light, tinged with shyness.
Looking at the girl before her, Claire Green raised her hand to tousle her hair, her voice lazy and slightly hoarse.
"Don’t be shy, John’s character is fine. If he bullies you in the future, just hit him."
At the end, she casually glanced at the boy, "Right?"
"Olivia, I wouldn’t dare bully Bella." John replied, smiling as he looked at the two girls.
"Go on." The girl patted Isabella, her gaze gentle.
Isabella Xyler pursed her lips and walked over to John Sinclair’s side.
...
"Your cabbage got snatched."
Leaning against the railing, Claire Green leisurely sent a message to someone, then looked down at the ant-like crowd below, lost in thought.
Meanwhile.
George Xyler had just arrived at the airport lounge when his phone received a message.
Seeing the sender, he raised an eyebrow. Why was Claire Green sending a message to him and not to Julian?
However.
As soon as he opened it, his previously good mood immediately turned dark.
Seeing the photo on his phone of Isabella Xyler kissing John Sinclair, George Xyler’s grip tightened, wishing to crush it.
John Sinclair, you bastard.
People say rabbits don’t eat grass near their burrow, but he didn’t keep an eye, and now his cabbage was taken away.
Mason Quinn noticed his unpleasant expression and asked worriedly, "What’s wrong? You look like you’re about to kill someone."
George Xyler said nothing, just showed the photo on his phone to him.
Seeing the photo, Mason Quinn was initially surprised but then smiled, "Our little witch is finally getting married."
With that.
Julian Sia raised an eyebrow, "The other party is John Sinclair."
"Yes."
"Julian, how did you guess?" Caleb Green asked curiously.
George Xyler and the other two didn’t need to ask, surprised that Julian, who usually didn’t care about other things, guessed immediately.
Seeing their curious looks, Julian Sia let out an ambiguous laugh because Claire had mentioned them to him a few days ago, and he didn’t expect that kid to act so quickly.
Seeing him silent, the others weren’t disappointed.
If Julian ever spoke to them about such matters, he wouldn’t be Julian.
Even thinking it over, George Xyler’s face didn’t lighten up. He quickly sent a reply and tossed the phone back in his pocket, deciding out of sight, out of mind.
"Tell that brat to stay on his toes."
Reading the message on her phone, Claire Green shook her head, finding it mildly amusing, feeling the seething anger in George Xyler’s words.
However, anyone in his position might feel murderous.
After all, nurturing cabbage for over ten years only for it to get snatched without a word.
...
"Where are we going now?"
Isabella Xyler’s hand was firmly held, and she asked with pleased curiosity.
"First, I’ll take you to eat." Since she accepted his confession, the curve on John Sinclair’s lips hadn’t faded.
Watching the two walking ahead, enveloped in pink bubbles, Sebastian Winn was speechless, looking to the sky.
Why did he decide to come along to be a third wheel? Instead of being fed dog food, he’d rather stay silent on the rooftop.
"I say, aren’t you two forgetting something?"
He couldn’t help but remind them, hoping they’d tone it down a bit.
But.
John Sinclair pretended to ponder, and under Sebastian’s expectant eyes, slowly opened his mouth, "We indeed forgot something. We should see a movie after dinner."
"Sure, I haven’t seen a movie in ages." Isabella Xyler, seeing through them both, played along perfectly.
Do you believe I won’t come and bite you?
Glaring hard at them, Sebastian Winn quickly walked between them.
Watching his retreating figure, Isabella Xyler whispered with a worried tone, "Do you think our chubby friend is really mad?"
John Sinclair’s smile deepened, "Don’t worry, he’s not that petty."
Just as he finished speaking, Sebastian’s resigned voice came from ahead.
"Hurry up, you two! Let me finish eating before you start getting all lovey-dovey."
John Sinclair and Isabella Xyler exchanged a smile and quickly followed.
"Brother John, you did win a beauty today, so I want a lavish meal."
As they walked in, Sebastian immediately voiced his demand.
Now food is the only thing that can soothe his heart being a third wheel.
"Alright, I promise you."
...
The three of them entered Summer Pavilion, and Sebastian eagerly flipped through the menu.
"This, this, and this," his fingers continued to tap on the menu until he closed it with a loud thud, "Forget what I just mentioned, bring one of everything else."
The waiter, apparently encountering this kind of request for the first time, asked for confirmation, "Are you sure you want one of everything?"
"Problem?" Sebastian frowned.
The waiter shook her head, "No problem, please wait a moment."
As she was about to leave, Sebastian called out again, "Wait," he glanced at the couple across from him, "Brother John, do you guys want to check what to eat?"
John Sinclair tugged at his lips but didn’t speak.
The chubby guy thought they hadn’t socially died enough already?
Ordering nearly the entire menu, people might think there are more people coming.
"No need."
Those two words were almost spat out through gritted teeth.
"Oh," Sebastian nodded, "then add a Black Forest cake, thanks."
Watching the waiter leave, with seemingly existential crisis holding the menu, John Sinclair wished he could beat up Sebastian.
"Chubby, aren’t you afraid of choking yourself with all this food?"
Sebastian waved dismissively, looking at the two with a grin, "Not only for us three, others are coming later."
Hopefully, Brother John can take a beating.
